Luna's POV
I watched as Damian brought out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. His eyes locked onto mine, and I could feel the intensity of his gaze.
"So, you didn't convince my brother," Damian said, exhaling a cloud of smoke. "But you came here anyway."
I swallowed, trying to steady my nerves. "I... just wanted some answers, Damian," I replied. "Is that such a bad thing?"
Damian leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. "Well, I also want back in the Mafia," his tone was casual. "But as you can see, Dominick refused. We don't always get what we want."
My heart sank. Damian wanted back in, and he saw me as a means to an end. "So what are you planning on doing, then?"
Damian took a long drag of his cigarette, contemplating my question. "Who knows," he finally replied, smoke curling around his face. "Maybe I'll have to keep you here until Dominick reinstates me back into the Mafia."
