Luna's POV
I've been waiting for close to seven minutes now, growing more weary by the moment. All I wanted was to see Dominick and end this nightmare. I paced around the road, straining my eyes for any sign of headlights. Then, I heard it—the sound of a car approaching.
I held my breath in anticipation, silently praying it was him. The car slowed down as it approached me. I tried to peer through the tinted glass, but I couldn't see who was inside. The door opened, and I literally jumped with joy when I saw Dominick step out.
He hurried over and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. ''Luna, I've missed you so much, my baby,' he breathed, burying his head in my neck. ''Are you alright?''
''Yes, I'm better now that I've seen you,'' I replied, feeling safe in his embrace.
He pulled away gently, caressing my face with a soft smile. 'I'm so sorry for coming late. I searched everywhere for you after that bastard Marcelo lost you.''
