(Note: Kalonice is Karla in disguise. The identity will change based on the perspective of the different characters.)
Serena summons her grey coloured magic circle. 10 strings forms out of the circle and Serena twirls her fingers around, tying them to each of her fingers. The crowd is astonished by the colour of her magic circle.
"What element is that?" A young man asks.
"This year's tournament has been lacklustre till now. But now it is getting interesting." An old man expresses his thoughts.
"She is one of the blessed. I know her since she is in my guild." A man claims in confidence.
"What? Really?" Few other men glare at the man who is in Serena's guild.
On the stage, Serena is staring at her opponent while carefully spreading her threads throughout the entire stage. But Kalonice hasn't move a bit from her initial position.
The crowd above are making wild guesses for Karla's element. "It's fire!"
"No. It has to be water or poison."
"Oh? You think she is blessed?"
"I mean she is hiding her face. Maybe she is a bastard of some high knight?"
Serena is constantly looking at her opponent's feet. 'In the database, Karla Nice is registered as a water elemental. Known for her signature water slashes. She uses kicks to release large bullets of water. But I have already put several traps around her. No matter where she moves first, her limbs will be tangled in my threads and then with a flick of my fingers. She will die.' She smiles widely as she finishes her preparation. Now all that is left is the prey to walk into her trap.
Behind her on the grass field, Karl is sitting next to Mikaela. He is continuously scratching his hand. The atmosphere in the entire dome is tense. Everyone is holding their breath, trying not to blink as they do not want to miss anything. Then it happens.
Karla moves.
She tilts her head to the side like a cat. "Are you done?" She asks in a calm voice.
"What?" Serena question back with her fingers all stretched out.
"I am asking that are you done? This net you created...is all you can do?"
Serena remains calm, not getting affected by her opponents taunts.
Kalonice extends her hand forward and touches the thin thread directly in front of her.
'She can see my threads? They are too small to be seen by a human eye.' Serena smiles nervously.
"I am not interested in fighting you. I am interested in him." She extends her index finger and points at Karl who sitting directly behind Serena. The crowd starts to cheer loudly as they mistake Kalonice's gesture as a challenge to Serena.
Serena smirks at Karla's words. "Well, you have to defeat me to fight him."
"Very well." Just as those words escaped Kalonice's mouth, she twists her body in an inhuman way. She performs a number of acrobatic tricks to fit in the gaps between threads that are too small even for a small child.
Serena panics as Karla easily moves pasts her first wave of traps. She quickly moves her hands, trying to catch Karla. But she is too fast her. Kalonice's movements are elegant and precise. The crowd cheers with every move Karla makes.
"Don't look down on me!" Serena claps her hands together. Two large tiles of the stage are launched at Kalonice. Karla jumps straight in the air to avoid the collision.
"You tied them to every tile of the stage?" A hint of admiration was seen in Kalonice's voice.
"Does it matter? If you can jump that high?" Serena doesn't wait for her response and pull every thread attached to her fingers. Tens of tiles are pulled from the ground and thrown at Karla.
Kalonice bends her back until her head hit the ground below. The tiles went flying above her, just as they are about to hit the people sitting above referee snaps his fingers and every single one of tiles breaks immediately.
Kalonice stands again and dashes at Serena. She dodges every single of the tiles by moving in between them. She simply moves faster than the movement of Serena's fingers. This time Serena claps her hands once more sending four tiles flying at her.
"ARGH!!!" She struggled to those pull four tiles together because they weighted more than a 100 of kilogram.
Kalonice jumps again. She looks at Serena's face and notices a smile. Then she sees a thread in the air.
'How?'
The thread wraps around Kalonice's waist, hanging her high in the air. Serena moves her hand one more time and lifts a tile up from the ground. Karla tries to move but she couldn't escape in time.
CRACK! The tile smashes Karla on the ground like a mosquito. The hat fell on ground which exposes Kalonice's lustrous black hair. Her face still hidden beneath her long curly bangs. The big screen zooms on her and crowd cheers loudly.
Serena is taking long breaths while sweating heavily. She is clearly very exhausted. Blood drips from her fingers as the threads cut through the skin as she pulled those heavy tiles. Kalonice slowly reaches out to her hat, careful not to show her face. She puts on her hat and straightens the veil.
Serena could narrowly see the bright glowing red eyes through the veil, this eye contact sent goosebumps through Serena's entire body. Kalonice slowly walks towards Serena.
CRACK! A tile is reduced to pieces as it collied with Karla. Kalonice kept walking, her body unscathed.
"ARAAGH!" She screams as her own threads dug deeper into her fingers. Four tiles come flying towards Kalonice, but she doesn't stop.
BOOM! A large dust cloud is created, a shadow emerges from the dust. Kalonice comes out. Not a single wound on her body. Serena takes a step back.
"Why. Don't. You. Just. Die." She throws multiple tiles at her but the result was same. There is only few steps of distance between them. Suddenly something shiny flashes in everyone's eyes who are watching the fight.
Kalonice stops, her eyes fixed on Serena's smile.
"All that for what? In the end, you were caught in my trap." She raises her bloody finger and it tightens the thread that is wrapped around Karla's neck. Many people from the crowd gasps in awe.
Mikaela smile as she saw the Serena putting up the thread beforehand. She glances at Karl to see his reaction. 'Did he even see them? Of course not.'
Besides her, Karl is sitting with a serious face. "Can you even see what is happening?" Mikaela asks.
"If not, I am willing to explain it to you." Arrogance was clearly seen on Mikaela's face.
"Shut up for a second." Karl answers.
"Suit yourself. Hmph!" Mikaela turns away from Karl.
'Stupid. Thinks that he knows everything.'
In everyone's eyes, Karla's life is in the hands of Serena. Even the referee is standing close to listen to any resigns. "You should surrender." Serena advices.
"Why? Because you are holding me like this?" Kalonice asks. In response, Serena further tightens the thread. Kalonice's neck starts to turn purple due to strangling but her expression remains calm as always.
"You are quite weak." These words caught Serena off guard as she expected Karla to beg for her own life. "Oh yeah? My neck is not being cut off." "Yet you are still strong because of your unique way of fighting. For that, you are quite skilled...Like a spider." Kalonice praises.
"Are you going to keep talking?" Serena threatens once more.
"If you give yourself few years. You can truly become strong like spider queen and become a hindrance to me. Which is why I am going to destroy you." Serena again feels goosebumps all over her body.
Kalonice moves forward.
The thread further tightens.
Serena also pulls with all of her strength.
Most of the people closed their eyes as blood is about to splatter everywhere. But everyone only heard one sound.
THUWP! The sound of thread snapping.
Kalonice stands in front of Serena. Serena's entire body is trembling. Her mind refuses to acknowledge reality. "It can't be. It can't be. It can't be." She mumbles.
"THOSE STRINGS ARE STRONGER THAN STEEL!" She screams.
"HOW- Yes! This is your magic right? RIGHT?"
Everyone's eyes searches for a magic circle other than the grey one. But there is nothing.
"I DEDICATED MY LIFE IN MAKING THOSE PERFECT! HOW CAN YOU! JUST HOW-" Serena is having a mental breakdown.
Suddenly she punches Karla. Kalonice catches her hand. She squeezes Serena's hand. "ARGHHHHHH!" Serena screams as her bones are crushed.
"Even a queen is nothing outside her territory." Serena tries to slap Karla by using her left hand.
Kalonice again catches the hand and squeezes. Blood splatters on the ground. Serena falls to her knees as she begs to stop. "Stop! Please! I surrender! PLEASE!" Tears falling on the blood below.
"Surrender? Do you not understand? I am going to destroy you. Your future. Your potential. Your talent. Everything." Kalonice twists Serena's hands in a gruesome way, crushing her radius bone completely.
"LET ME GO! PLEASE! IT HURTS! I SURRENDER!" Serena screams loudly in pain.
The referee quickly arrives and moves to grab Karla's shoulder. Kalonice glances at the referee and he stuns. His body refusing to move.
Suddenly, Kalonice looks up. A floating chair hovers above her. Karlos stares at her with his glowing brownish eyes. Kalonice looks at him in the eye, still not moving.
"Let her go."
The female vampyer looks ahead of her and immediately releases Serena.
Karl glares at the vampyer as he stands few meters away from her. "I am the one you want. Leave her."
Kalonice's smiles widely at Karl's words. Her white fangs become visible for a second as she smiles.
"Yes. For you."
