"Perfect."
Ian runs toward Karl and hugs him. "You did it, you did it."
Ian easily lifts Karl in the air.
"H-Hey, put me down." Karl complains. Ian puts him and looks at the private compartment.
There he only spots principal Estha with a pissed look. 'Did they leave?'
In the midst of the crowd Ken is watching Karl with a smile. He gets up and makes his way towards the exit.
All of a sudden, his watch rings. Ken uses levitating steps and disappears only to appear in a corner away from the crowd. He taps on his watch.
"Any report?" A robotic voice sounds.
"I have found a suitable person for our Lord." Ken reports.
"Elaborate about the subject."
"Name is Leonard Avaritia. Age 17, Wields a forbidden element, Family background is clean. Only has two blood relatives."
"Keep an eye on the subject. No further orders." With this the light on the watch fades. 'Grow more, Leonard.'
On the other hand, Karl is in Ian's suite. Listening to Andressa. "I was so worried. For a second, I thought that you missed your throw."
"No way, that was on purpose." Karl clarifies.
Ian is little away from them. He is gracefully placing the Gale blade back into its suitcase. After he is finished, he notices that Andressa is conversing with Karl and he isn't contributing much. So, he asks "Leo, why were you so late for the duel?"
Both of them looks at Ian.
"Let me answer, this idiot drank the entire mana regeneration in one sip and collapsed on the ground like a drunkard." Andressa explains.
"How in the hell am I supposed to know that the elixirs are consumed in intervals?" Karl complains.
"Because it is common sense?"
"Oh, shut up." Ian looks at them and laughs. Just then a knock sounds. Everybody goes silent. Ian goes toward the door and opens it.
Three men are standing in front of Ian. One of them is a fairly old man in a black Tai Chi robe. The two other men are wearing black suit on a white polo with black pants.
"Is Leonard Avaritia here?" The old man asks.
"May we know who you are?"
One of the man steps forward and pulls out a metal plate from his pocket. "We belong to the federation, serving in U-Block. Sector-000243, Renock City. The federation has summoned Leonard Avaritia for official questioning in the sanctum." Ian takes a deep breath and slowly steps aside.
Three of them walks in and spots Karl. "Leonard Avaritia, the federation has summoned you."
"What?" Karl questions. They drag Karl out of the colosseum. Every passerby was looking at Karl with curious eyes.
"Hey, isn't that guy who beat Mikeala in a duel?"
"Kya! It's the woman assaulter." A female student startles as she sees Karl. They finally reach the main gates of the academy.
'Am I being arrested and executed secretly?' Karl wonders.
They wait for few minutes at the road just outside the main gate. Finally, a black van like flying car comes and lands in front of Karl. Karl looks at the vehicle with curious eyes. A man in black suit pushes Karl ahead.
"Get in."
The door open and all of them sits in the vehicle. Then, it starts to move. Excited, Karl looks out of the window and admires the view. All of a sudden one grabs Karl's right hand. Karl tries pull his hand. 'Such a tight grip.' His hand isn't bulging at all. He touches Karl's watch with his own.
"This is a tracker which will prevent you from running away." Karl nods and glances at his now-red colored watch.
On the way to the sanctum, Karl sees many tall towers, Different people with unique hair. He also saw a small like creature with ice scales on his back. 'The beauty standard of this world is very high.' Every girl Karl sees is a solid 9. Then, he spots something weird.
Few people with expensive looking armours openly ganging up on a frail looking kid. Just when the Karl feels bad for the kid, the knight mercilessly beheads the kid.
"Sian's man are doing it again." One man says with a yawn.
"We can't do anything about that. Currently, Kevin is on the red border. In his absence, the entire U-block's guilds comes in Sian's control." Other man in black answers.
"He got the backing of two Sentinel families. On top of that he is our senior in the federation." The other man sighs.
That's when the car stops. Karl looks outside and sees a huge crystal dome. The door opens. Karl steps down. There many people coming and going outside of the dome, they are wearing the same black suit.
"Finally, I can do this." The old who was quiet all this time speaks.
He snaps his fingers and a floating rock appears and it straight flews at Karl. 'Fuck-' Karl tries to use his levitating steps but feels the lack of mana. The rock hits Karl in the head knocking him out.
'The elixir ended at the worst timing.' That was Karl's last thought.
Karl sees the abyss again. He admires its beauty. That's when it moves. The abyss moves towards Karl. Karl tries to move but couldn't. He tries to scream but couldn't. He tries to think but couldn't. He tries to-
WHOOM. Just like that it consumes Karl.
"AHHH!" Karl wakes up screaming. He looks around and sees the old man with an empty water bucket sitting in front of him. He feels his wet hair. His gasping for air. His struggle to move. Karl realizes where he is. He takes a deep breath to regain his sanity,
"Your friends have confessed. That you attacked my granddaughter Kareena, in her own dorm. Accept your crime."
Karl keeps his poker face meanwhile there is only one thought in his head.
'Did Ian and Andressa betrayed me?' Karl is in a very dark room with a table and chair. The only person here is Kareena's grandfather. Karl's hands are tied behind his back. He doesn't even think of using a spell.
"ANSWER ME!" The old man yells.
'This is a bluff.' Karl determines. 'The way he is showing his desperation to make me admit is cute.'
"I don't know what are you talking about." Karl says it in one breath. The old man smashes the table, shaking the entire room.
"Kid. This isn't your academy, there aren't any Lumineux's retards here to save you. Tell me the truth."
'Mikaela saved me?'
"This is the truth. I wasn't even there when it happened. Me and my friend went to my dorm in the morning, because of that we were late to our lecture." All of a sudden, the ground starts to shake.
"Looks like I need to do this the old way." A small spike of rock comes out of the ground and pierces Karl in his left leg. Karl's face changes drastically, he makes an exaggerated painful expression.
"Tell me the truth, Leonard."
Karl looks at the old man. His body trembling in pain. Old man smirks at Karl's reaction and waits for Karl to give up. But even after 15 minutes and a pool of blood Karl doesn't say a single word.
"I didn't want to try this on a kid." The old man confesses and a circle appears on his forehead.
The spike inside Karl leg extends and pierces through. To think that is bad enough, various different spikes grow from the spike which is already inside Karl's leg. The spikes make various holes throughout Karl's leg and they are increasing too fast. Just like that the bone gets completely crushed. Blood sprays all over the floor. Karl screams in pain.
Hearing the scream an employee rushes in the room. He looks at Karl screaming and trembling like an animal. He glances at Karl's leg. His entire stomach sinks as he looks at it. Every strand of hair on his body stands like a poll. He takes two steps back. His eyes still on that piece of flesh. Screaming intensifies as majority of spikes comes out of Karl's thigh.
'Is that a leg?'
To a normal human that is anything but a human limb. There are only red spikes soaked in blood poking out his leg like structure. The actual leg is nowhere to be seen. Karl's leg is covered in spike all the way from his toes to his thigh. The employee fells on his back as he sees such horrifying thing.
His veins, bones, muscles and tendons all pierced by spikes from the inside. The glances at the old man and sees he is fully lost in the kid's pain. He somehow pulls his card and talks.
"C-Chief! Come in the interrogation room 9." Just as the employee utters his words a spike also pierces his back.
"And I specifically told them that I need quiet room." The old man complains. Just as the brown circle on his forehead glows, a faint blue glow appears behind him. At the very next second the entire wall behind the old man is slashed in half.
