Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Doubt

Lily pointed to the child on his back and said, "Then put the child down first."

Zu Mo didn't put the child down but transferred the item he was holding in his right hand to his left hand. "No need. Let's just get on with it. The sooner we finish, the sooner I can go home and cook."

Lily's expression changed.

The elderly man squinted.

The man in the suit standing next to the off-road vehicle chuckled repeatedly. Facing Xue, who dared to be so arrogant, either he was a martial arts master or a fool who hadn't even started training. But that kid didn't look like a master at all!

Lily's expression turned cold, and her tone grew even colder, resembling ice. "Are you sure you want this?"

She felt she had never been looked down upon like this in her life.

However, Zu Mo responded calmly, "Let's get on with it. Don't waste each other's time."

Lily couldn't contain her anger. She said "Alright" twice and assumed a fighting stance. "Hongquan MuXue, please enlighten me!"

Her full name was "MuXue," and only the elders in the Mufamily called her "Lily."

Zu Mo still maintained a calm demeanor, with the child on his back and holding groceries and medicinal herbs in his left hand.

MuXue was filled with anger and no longer showed any restraint. She stepped forward, her fists overflowing like surging torrents, pouring out forcefully!

The man in the suit secretly applauded.

The elderly man nodded slightly. MuXue's Hongquan was well-rounded, powerful, and forceful. She had already reached a high level.

Zu Mo sighed inwardly. This girl's boxing skills had improved somewhat. Compared to the thugs and human traffickers he had encountered before, she had some combat ability. However, she was facing him now.

With six hundred years of combat experience and starting his training today, Zu Mo had already broken through to the level of a two-star warrior by mid-morning. Faced with MuXue, who could barely be considered a one-star warrior, he had both the experience and strength to overpower her.

With just one glance, he saw through the flaws beneath MuXue's fierce momentum and the numerous feints behind her initial moves.

He stood there calmly, waiting for MuXue to approach him before raising his only free hand...

Bang!

He blocked MuXue's fiercely unstoppable right fist.

Su's body trembled, then her left fist swung out, fierce like raging fire, resembling the roar of a cannon.

Slap!

Zu Mo's speed was extremely fast. He quickly withdrew his right hand and grabbed Su's delicate fist, seeming unaffected by the force behind it.

MuXue was surprised and prepared to attack again.

However, Zu Mo didn't give her the chance. He shifted his Wught, grabbing her hand and twisting it at the wrist.

MuXue had no choice but to spin like a gyroscope, as if dancing a waltz.

Suddenly, Zu Mo let go, and Su, carried by momentum, spun twice more. When she relied on her own strength to coordinate her body and stop spinning, a fist was already inches from her face, just a centimeter from her nose.

She believed that if the owner of that fist hadn't held back, her face would have been smashed like a pancake.

At that moment, the man in the suit pulled out a handgun from behind his waist...

Zu Mo's fist stopped just one centimeter away from MuXue's pretty face.

The man in the suit, driven by his instinct as a bodyguard, suddenly drew his gun and aimed it.

Zu Mo turned to look at him, his eyes shooting icy cold glints.

The man in the suit felt like he had fallen into an ice cave, his bones and blood instantly freezing, as if facing death. Although he had a gun in his hand, he couldn't pull the trigger, filled with fear of death.

"Liu Wu, put down the gun!" the elderly man in the Tang suit shouted.

Liu Wu shuddered all over and slowly lowered the gun.

Zu Mo withdrew his gaze and his fist, performing a magic trick to take out a baby water bottle from behind and opened the lid, handing it to the child on his back. "Yuzu, are you thirsty? Here, have some water."

The child hugged the water bottle and drank, then handed it forward, saying, "Daddy drink."

Zu Mo pretended to drink by smacking his lips, then said, "Yuzu drink."

The father and daughter interacted happily, paying no attention to the others, as if nothing had happened just now.

MuXue breathed a sigh of relief, and Liu Wu was sweating profusely. He thought he was going to die just now.

When Liu Wu drew his gun, Zu Mo did indeed have the intention to kill. It had been many years since anyone had dared to point a gun at the Star River Overlord like that. If it weren't for considering his daughter, he might have really taken the man's life.

As for MuXue, she was deeply shocked.

She had been fond of martial arts since childhood, and her family had indulged her. She had even hired many martial arts masters as her teachers. Now, after more than ten years of martial arts practice, she couldn't be approached by ordinary men, and none of the bodyguards at home were her match. She never expected to be defeated in the park where she trained every day, by an average-looking guy.

What was even more unbelievable was that this guy was carrying a child and groceries, and with just one hand and four moves, he defeated her.

If he hadn't held back and let go, how terrifying would he have been?

She couldn't help but doubt herself.

"Master, I am sorry for the trouble caused by our rudeness. Please forgive us for any offense!" The elderly man in the Tang suit bowed deeply, extremely solemn.

He had lived for over seventy years and considered himself knowledgeable. He knew that there were people beyond people and worlds beyond worlds, and some existences couldn't be fathomed by common sense.
