Oframasi, Police station, Sergeant Quaye's Office.
.....
"I salute sir!" LC Becky immediately greeted Sergeant Quaye after entering the room.
"There are three gentlemen outside waiting to have an audience with you. Sir, I think they are the envoys from the headquarters." She quickly added.
"They are already here? But why did you make them wait outside? why didn't you bring them in? " Where are they? Hurry, go welcome them in!" Sergeant Quaye became agitated when he heard the report from her subordinate.
How would he explain himself should the envoys get furious and decide to report it to the headquarters?
One question after another bombarded LC Becky as Sergeant Quaye asked numerous questions in succession. It was at this moment Becky realized she had made a huge mistake. It seems they are more scary than what she had initially thought judging by how agitated and anxious Sergeant Quaye was behaving.
"Yes, sir, !" Realizing the severity of the matter, LC Becky immediately dashed out of the room to welcome the quests. "Huh?" However, before she could take 5 steps, Sergeant Quaye was already at the door.
"I'm so sorry to keep you waiting." The first thing Sergeant Quaye did after opening the door was to offer an apology. He couldn't afford to get on the bad side of an envoy sent by headquarters notwithstanding the fact that they might be his seniors.
Moreover, since he would be heading into the city in no time, there existed a probability they might become colleagues at the same point along the way.
Therefore, having a cordial and amicable relationship with them would be in his best interest as he might one day need their assistance.
"Hmph!" Sergeant Robert harrumphed coldly when he heard those words from Sergeant Quaye. He was infuriated by the treatment Sergeant Quaye had arranged.
He felt like everybody was looking down on him. From his superior to his junior and now a sergeant demoted to a village.
"What gives a demoted sergeant the courage to keep us waiting!? Are you tired of living?" With anger taking over his brain, he shouted angrily spitting saliva all over. It was truly embarrassing.
_With all the humiliation I've suffered in these past few days, it is now time to unleash it all out. He thought.
"I'm sorry." Sergeant Quaye continued to apologize ignoring the rude words. His demotion has always been something that he never regrets. It was his actions that led to his demotion.
Hence, when others mock him for it, he doesn't irritated or angry. That was his choice. Even if given another chance, he would still make the same decision.
"I'm sorry. Is that all you can provide? How does that even solve the current situation?" Sergeant Robert raised his voice even further after listening to Sergeant Quaye''s reply. He hadn't expected such a lame reply from Sergeant Quaye.
"Enough! Sergeant Robert, what do you think you're doing? Do you think this is the question-and-answer segment? Listen! This should be your last time. Don't speak when you're not permitted to. Do you understand?" Inspector Kodua shouted angrily at Sergeant Robert when he saw that things were getting out of hand. He was starting to feel irritated and fed up with his unreasonable character.
Upon hearing the roar by Inspector Kodua, it was at that moment that Sergeant Robert came to his senses and nodded his head reluctantly.
