The entire living room was filled with a splendid atmosphere of wealth and grandeur, exuding an opulent European style that resembled a palace. Crystal bead curtains separated a part near the window, where a simple desk was placed, illuminated by sunlight.
Lena felt a sense of familiarity but didn't think much of it. The breakfast on the table was Grayson's order, Lena's favorite. After eating, Grayson wanted to drive Lena to the company, but Lena insisted on taking a taxi.
"Darling, there are no taxis in the villa area. Are you sure you want to walk?" Lena looked at her high heels and then at the scorching sun above; she would probably turn into a dried-up person by the time she reached the company. "You definitely have more than one car; I'll drive myself!"
Helpless, Grayson had to agree. "Go to the garage and pick a car! Your old car should retire."
Lena looked at the various luxury cars neatly lined up in the garage, each worth millions or even tens of millions. It seemed like every millionaire liked to turn their garage into a car exhibition.
After much consideration, Lena chose a relatively inconspicuous BMW. Lena drove in front, with Grayson's car following closely behind. They arrived at the company one after the other.
As soon as they entered, Lucy, the gossip queen, came over. "Wow, Lena, is that the latest Chanel outfit? I've only seen it in magazines; I don't think it's available in our country yet. Did you win the lottery?"
"It's a high-quality replica," Lena said with a smile, quickly stopping Lucy's big mouth.
"Hmph, if you can't afford it, don't wear it! Wearing a replica is embarrassing!" Eva chimed in as she passed by.
Lucy made a face behind her, "Typical sour grapes mentality."
"You think you know so much; go do some work!" Lena tapped Lucy's head.
"My dearest Lena! How have you been? Without me, I hope you're not suffering," Lena saw Alice's messages and calls and remembered the failed blind date yesterday. How would Alice explain it to her mother?
"Lena, something big happened to me? I made headlines!"
"Making headlines is a good thing! Finally, this third-rate actress has her day," Lena teased.
"What's so good about it? Look at the news later," Alice said, repeating yesterday's events to Lena. Lena was laughing so hard she couldn't get up from the table.
After hanging up, Lena opened the webpage, flooded with entertainment news. "Charles's new favorite third-rate model," "Model rises to fame through Charles," "Both hospitalized due to excessive indulgence." Various sensationalized news, all smearing their names.
Lena called Alice back. "Tell Charles to suppress the news; it's simple for him."
"No, I can't walk into a trap!"
"Lena, I'm planning to go abroad for a while. In a few days, Charles will have new scandals."
"I'll bring little Helen with me; you focus on work and military affairs. I'll take her on a trip."
"Alright! It's not Helen's first time traveling with you. Go ahead!" After dealing with Alice's matters, Lena sighed and started sketching.
"Lena, this contract with the Fashion Group's manager needs to be signed at 6 PM this afternoon. I have another meeting; you go sign it. The location is Room 103 at Donggong Hotel." Raven handed the contract to Lena with instructions.
