Chapter 14 - Round 3

Here it is round 3 or actually the semi-finals of the tournament. As we get closer to the end it seems excitement only rises as the contestants grow throughout their competition, a testament of its purpose to show the grand prowess and potential people may achieve…

Entering the round 3 arena that would have been changed from the other rounds. Instead of being a barren land there was actually something within this being a forest. This would be a replica of a forest created to be a tricky terrain and would prevent the contestants seeing each other from the start and would implore a more tactical mindset adding a test onto the battle to work with the environment. Sora was now standing in his spot and he stretched around his body wiggling around, he seemed to be less worried than any other fight as this was the final stretch before he could fight Shiro this would be easy peasy he would think. Once the battle was started Sora quickly moved himself upwards into a tree hiding in its leaves. Sora would have sat there waiting for his opponent to come out… but a long time would pass and there was nothing. Sometime Sora would get tired from the exhaustion of waiting and jump out of the tree, but there was someone far more patient than he. It was his opponent who leaped out of their own hiding, she would then grab onto Sora while he was midair and slammed him directly into the ground as he squealed. "Why does this keep happening!" Although Sora would have tried to move now he could not! Although when he forced himself to move now he would realize that he felt a huge pain as he stood up, why was he being hurt? Now looking towards his opponent and himself he would realize this must have been the patience soul. The aura of his opponent was now on him which would hurt him if he moved. And so with this the opponent used it towards their own advantage and touched Sora with all of her fingers and smirked as she took a step back with her aura dissipating, presumably by choice? Although now with Sora himself trying to move he would begin at a very incredibly slow pace. This would have only made this fight even more excruciating. Kato the opponent would have waited for Sora to finally reach her before then punching him in the face and knocking him backwards now. Sora would fall onto the ground not even able to stop himself with his lack of speed currently. Kato would then pick up Sora from off of the ground and tossed him up into the air, but when Sora came down a web of strings would encapsulate his entire body tying him up tightly, but he could not struggle. If he were to move this would only cause himself to be hurt more. Suddenly the extra strings holding him up in the air would have snapped causing him to fall. Sora crashing down into the ground would suffer the effects of the strings around him as it forced him to technically move. After all this time Sora would have been able to destroy the change of his speed with a curse of decay activating on the effect that struck him having to endure as he did so. Sora would have suddenly burst out of the strings and looked towards his opponent who was already rushing at him with a blue knife. Sora already knowing the gimmick would have stayed still, although this left him open for an additional attack which was a punch in the gut followed up with a headbutt from Kato sending him stumbling backwards a slight drip of blood coming from his head. Now Sora touched his head a bit shocked. This was the first time he bled throughout this whole tournament and the most damaged he has felt. Sora would have a ludicrous grin. The power of this person was just invigorating and exciting. "Alright alright. I guess I'll show you some of my true power." Kato would have raised her eyebrow curiously. "You've been holding out on me? Well no need to be patient now, show me. Well it's not like you did anything." Sora was in fact lying, there was no hidden power, it's just he had not even done anything this whole fight yet! Although he would surely think of something epic. Sora would turn around and use his special technique running away! Sora would have started running very very quickly, but he could hear a quick chase from behind as the patience user Kato would use her ability to start making herself faster which would render this even harder for Sora who was desperately trying to get away it seems. "Augh!" The crowd would be curious of what was actually going on because it was hard to see and all they could hear were screams. Although Sora would suddenly turn around and snicker as strings came towards him. He would have grabbed onto strings that came towards him. Sora with a hold on these strings would have sent his energy throughout it. A mix of all three of his energies in an incomplete symmetry to cause one explosive attack. The kinetic energy, perseverance, and cursed power would travel through the string and blow up right in the face of his opponent blasting them down into the ground as Sora would smirk with sweat dripping down his face along with a bit of blood, but he was okay! Kato having sploded into the ground was still not done either. She stood up once more being visibly damaged herself as well, but they seemed to be rather invigorated to continue. The patient warrior was always waiting for the perfect moment, and perhaps this was exactly the perfect moment that she was waiting for and it had come. The indomitable spirit held within many souls like hers made her not weaker as she went on, but stronger not as much as something like a soul of perseverance, but it was there. A sort of awakening on the brink of loss one could acheive. Now utilizing her patience aura she would enact her ability to change speeds on the air and would increase the speed of the air in the direction Sora was to make herself go even faster towards there than she already was along with pulling herself forward with strings. With this grand speed she would slam her entire body weight in the form of a dropkick towards Sora rendering a powerful blow, but Sora was more prepared this time holding his hand out forming a barrier of energy to reduce the blow towards himself, well he hadn't done that before, but at least he thought of it now. The speedy winds then stopped as Kato jumped off the barrier that Sora put up. Kato would summon many of those daggers from before as they came towards Sora in every direction. They phased through the still barrier and stopped all around Sora, one movement and he would have lost or worse. Kato punched the barrier over and over again until it eventually just shattered. The barrier now shattered Kato walked up to Sora and dropped the knives in the same instance swift strikes came from her towards Sora seemingly making afterimages even to himself because of her speed. Sora would have to take a vast amount of hits again he was on the verge of really passing out this was not a good situation for the boy at all. Although the mischievous boy always had some trick up his sleeve. He suddenly grabbed onto the hand of the woman on one of her assaults and used the force against her to flip her over himself and tossed her to the floor. Immediately following this Sora would have pointed his hand at the girl and would send additional curse energy towards the girl. The curse he had placed on her from the previous explosion and this one was the curse of draining causing all her energy to be taken from her as time had gone on and he accelerated that even further causing it to come into effect. Sora then fell on his but. Wow he really almost lost that time! The forestry would have then disappeared as the two there could be seen with Sora standing or well sitting victoriously. This was really great for him as he placed a hand on the head of his opponent. "Hey, you were really great. There are so many awesome people out there, but unfortunately for you I have a friend to beat up." The vision of Sora began to get a bit blurry as his consciousness would waver until he had passed out on the ground. Immediately whisked away off the field to be tended to which would not be too hard since it was actually quite minimal damage. Manu would be surprised by the outcome as this had been the most intense combat of all, and gladly it was not allowed to go much farther.

The last round of the semi-finals dawns upon quickly with the time seemingly just shooting by, well they say time flies when you're having fun. Within the arena there was an odd feeling in the open space. It was by one of the contestants being the cause, it certainly was not Shiro, but instead it was that of the opponent who was a girl by the name of Sienna Washington. It was not just her very presence that was peculiar, it was her very appearance. She was dressed from head to toe in red white and blue with stars and stripes on her bodysuit, topped with a bandana sporting the flag on top of her head as well. Of course by just looking at her you could tell she certainly had a grand American spirit. This was something quite peculiar and even though she had already fought twice no one would be able to discern what kind of soul she even had in the first place yet it need not be answered and all that mattered was a nice display to be shown. "And let the last round of the semifinals… begin!" With that announced it was time for such an event to happen. Shiro would have seemed kind of uneasy, especially because there were things that she did not want to use.. She wanted to wait until she fought Sora. It seemed Sienna would have gone for the first attack as suddenly spiritual eagles came down from the sky right towards Shiro as she would just have an awestruck look for a moment before frantically running out of the way as they exploded on contact with the ground. Shiro would have absolutely no idea what this power of hers could possibly be, but she just wanted to make sure to get this over quickly so she meanders over towards Sienna quite quickly. "You can not win against the indomitable spirit of freedom." Sienna would announce as Shiro attempted her first attack in the form of just running right at Sienna, this would have been stopped quite quickly as stars would spill out of nowhere in front of Sienna all launching themselves towards Shiro, of course these being extremely small not comparable to actual stars. Shiro reacted quickly with her animalistic reflexes and jumped over the stars following the motion with a dropkick towards her current opponent. "Well stop this then huh!" And as she said that, it was indeed stopped. The star spangled girl would simply wag her finger at Shiro and she was blown away throughout the air doing more than stopping her attack. "You can't stop someone as free as me." Sienna would say as she would prance around in the arena it seemed like she was dancing carefree as ever even within the midst of this. Shiro got back up and rubbed the point of impact which seemed to make it hurt less, now this was going to be interesting. Shiro would have run right back at Sienna knowing of course that she would need something that was harder to predict. Shiro would have gathered fire right into her hands and tossed it towards Sienna who had seemed to manifest an American flag within her hand and smacked away the fire with the pole of it. Her concentration on Shiro wavered slightly especially due to her seeming carelessness as when she looked back she would notice Shiro was right in front of her coming to execute a swift jab it seemed, Sienna would attempt to simply stop the attack that was coming at her even from this close of a distance by slightly moving the flag to the side at an immense speed, but against the flag it would only turn into flames? Thus the fact was Shiro was behind her readying the actual attack which was a point blank explosion of flames towards Sienna. And when this explosive flame erupted Shiro would have been bumped back from her own attack looking into the smoke to see what it made of Sienna. Shiro would see when the smoke dissapated Sienna was standing right there just seemingly fine. "Ah you must be a pretty free spirit yourself to think of something like that haha. Well I expect nothing less of the princess. Now I'm sure you can do better. Cmon at least hit me once." Shiro would now see this seemingly innocent giddy girl as an unseen monster, a true monster in human form, but Shiro was struck with instead of fear, it was awe. "So- so cool. Well uh I am sure that I will be able to take you down!" Shiro would proclaim as she needed to think of further plans. She could not do simply one devastating attack and instead she would need to motion for something more conniving. And so she would do something reasonable and started swinging her arms around in circles as she spewed around fire everywhere… and it really was everywhere. Even with this Sienna seemed to stand still unaffected by the blaze that was spurring all around, although it became particularly hard to see. From the flames that would have come of course spiraled smoke which clogged the battlefield and made it quite hard to see anything. A grand part of a plan that Shiro had thought up on the spot as suddenly from the flames that sprouted around Sienna would have come entities shaped from flame that would seem to pile onto and try to attack Sienna yet they all did nothing but simply bother the seemingly undefeatable girl. Although something that was not thought of was Shiro herself coming from one of these flames descending from the sky facing downwards to deliver a straight punch to the top of the head of Sienna, Sienna had been slightly distracted from the creatures and would only notice a moment later as she was struck. You would assume it would do nothing like all the attacks prior due to the seemingly endless capabilities the girl held, but she actually stumbled backwards, affected in the slightest by the attack which seemed to have a strange electrical spark itself. Sienna would then find this pretty amusing as suddenly all the fire and smoke dissipated likely by her doing as she placed a hand on the shoulder of Shiro. "I can't believe you actually did that Shiromida. I guess I shouldn't have expected less from someone like you. Well since you did manage to attack me successfully you win." She would say as she raised her hand in the air suddenly holding a white flag waving it to show she surrendered. Many were confused, but nonetheless it carried on. "Thank you very much Sienna, I was never really gonna win." "Maybe someday, but for now try to at least beat that guy you are so desperate to fight honey. Ciao!" Sienna would say before then waving away the princess and leaving the arena. And with that the finals were to commence.
