A kind of bewildered expression appeared on Layla's face the moment she saw that it was her mum calling. Then she muttered to herself,
"Why is my mum calling?".
It's been some weeks since they last talked on the phone. Not like they were having some kind of feud or something, everyone was just busy with their different lives.
"Maybe she's calling to check out on me or something". She muttered to herself once again, then she picked up the call right after.
After picking it up, she spoke, "Hi mum".
"Hi Layla, how are you doing?". Her mum inquired.
"I'm doing great, mum". She responded.
"What of your husband, how is he doing?".
"He's doing great as well, it hasn't been that long since he left for work. I'm about to leave for work as well since I'm already done preparing. What about you, mum, how are you doing? How is dad doing as well?".
"We are both doing okay".
