Time truly flew by; in the blink of an eye, several more months of harsh and bloody battles passed.
Earth Nation.
Only a few steps remained before launching the full invasion of the Fire Nation and making it known that this war could not continue.
Although there was still some time before these events began, it was the right moment to prepare for battle. Preparation alone would take a significant amount of time.
Thorian did not expect to win a battle against the Fire Nation and for things to be so calm.
A long period of preparation and planning was required, including legions, combat tactics, provisions, and supplies. This process would take a lot of time.
But even with all of that, there was still no absolute confidence that they could win the battle. How powerful is a government that has lived in war as the superior for decades? How could Thorian not be aware of this?
That's why the step before total war was for the Earth Nation to recognize Thorian as the supreme emperor, and after that moment, the invasions began.
"In this place, the sun is so unbearable that I find it difficult to even have a life here. Do you want more ice?" Thorian wiped the sweat from his forehead as he glanced at Suki, who was the person accompanying him to engage in conversations with the ruler of this nation.
Under the scorching sun, Thorian had landed near a secluded place, and together with Suki, they began to wander in this village that seemed to show no signs of war.
There were food stalls, traders wanting to sell their products, and some people enjoying themselves in the streets of this city, which was quite effective in defending itself from invaders.
They now needed to meet the much-talked-about King Earthbender Kuei, who was the leader of the Earth Kingdom and, as such, would play a very important role in Thorian's plans, making it a top priority.
But in Thorian's eyes, this leader was someone extremely weak, considering that his government had not attempted to regain the wars that had been taken from them.
Looking around, Suki, who was partly from the Earth Nation, was much more excited about stepping into these unknown places after having insisted on accompanying Thorian to the last meeting. Being a Kyoshi warrior, perhaps this would somehow influence the negotiations.
"We can't buy anything due to money; I really know little about how the economy works, so we preferred not to eat anything for now." Thorian looked around calmly, but he noticed that for some time now, people had been giving them looks.
Had they been discovered?
They had probably been discovered, and their clothing didn't help much given the garments that people wore over their bodies.
But Suki was so excited that she took Thorian to a restaurant where they sold steamed buns, and somehow, she pulled out some coins from her purse.
Thorian was impressed that she had money, but knowing that they were doing what she wanted, it didn't seem like a bad idea to take a closer look at their surroundings. As far as he knew, the guards here were known as the Dai Li, who were protectors of religions.
These people, according to his spies, didn't sit well with Thorian, especially knowing that they were the only ones who could stop the resistance of this capital against the Fire Nation.
Thorian's plan now that he has control of the seas in the south and north is to attack the last cities that the Fire Nation has taken to end all invaders and prepare for the war.
Reports state that the Earth Kingdom has been resisting the invasions of its borders in the imperialist war of the Fire Nation for a long time, and this has persisted from the beginning. Apart from an Avatar, the Earth Kingdom was the only real obstacle that prevented the Fire Nation from achieving world dominance. Although the Water Tribe helped the Earth Kingdom in the war, the conflict progressed poorly and took its toll over the years until everyone started massacring them.
"Is it good?" Thorian paid no attention to his surroundings and focused on this food that he had never tried before.
The climatic conditions here were much better than in the North Pole, but certainly, people were weaker in general terms and would withstand little in the face of the consequences of a closer war.
But just as he planned to walk a little more through this capital, a dozen royal guards appeared around them, and the captain of the group ordered, "Identify yourselves; you don't seem to be from this kingdom."
Suki turned to one side and said, "And I am a Kyoshi warrior. The man beside me is the ruler of the entire Water Nation, so I would advise you to show more respect."
"No matter how much respect they deserve, we need evidence; anyone nowadays can be an enemy." The captain had not lowered his guard at any moment.
But then a thick layer of ice began to form around Thorian, and in that instant, without anyone being able to do anything, ice spikes emerged from all sides, aiming at the royal guards.
"Oh..."
Thorian waved his hand, and all the ice disappeared from around them. "Inform your King of my arrival; tell him that the Water Nation has discovered an important issue regarding the invaders that must be addressed as soon as possible, or we will be exterminated."
The head of the royal guard looked Thorian in the eyes and nodded, extending his hand and saying, "Then come with me; we have heard a lot about your results in the war during these last months."
Looking around, Thorian boarded a carriage with Suki, and both were taken to where this supposed king was. This was the only way to advance in the war of tomorrow.
