The next day, as i was instructed to run around the training fields first thing in the morning, father's words a day ago flashed through my mind. 'This is really harsh.'
knight comander Reiner Ashewood, once a distant relative of the Ashewood family, now the right-hand man and the most accomplished and most ruthless knight in the duchy, that person is now trying to kill me with the pretence of training.
Remyr Ashewood under the training of the knight commander was always on the brink of collapse, this continued for days, even remyr who had a resolve of steel thought that 'perhaps it's not bad to be a teddy bear.'
The intense training seems to have paid out slightly as remyr could gauge that his stamina has increased somewhat and he felt that he could feel some fatloss on his cheeks. One more thing that improved in this duration is that the Duchess herself retaught his foundation in magic and he leaned to strengthen his body using mana. The Duchess felt that her son may not entirely lack talent as everyone thought and was very happy about it.
Infact, the current Remyr has immense talent, unfortunately the hard-coded logic's from his past life is what's holding him back now, for example even gravity is expressed as a function of mana in this world, thus comprehending and distinguishing the laws and logic of the two worlds are what's holding him back.
Atlast, the day has come for him to leave for the academy.
Even though he had heared a lot of bad rumours about the academy, the crestfallen faces of his family and Sebastian gave him the goosebumps.
During the period of time, he got close to his siblings, thus he spend quite sometime comforting the two about his departure.
Saying his goodby to his family he was led to the carriage by Sebastian who took on the role of chauffeur, and a group of hightly capable knights, they departed for Dreadwood Academy.
As the Academy is situated in an isolated place away from the capital, the ride was bumby and it took two day and nights to arrive at. Remyr learned it the hard way why the academy is called Dreadwood academy is because it is infact located at the center of the Dreadwood forest.
The entire forest is covered in a dark greenish hue and a large arch served as entrance in which the carriages were passing through.
While entering through the entrance, Sebastian hurriedly called
"Young master please hold tight, it may be hard for you in there but you have to endure. It was my honor to escort you"
'???'
"What are you .."
Remyr couldn't ask his questions as the moment they entered the arched gateway
He felt like falling and he infact was, he was falling out of the carriage and he could see his carriage vanish into thin air following this another hundreds or so carriages also vanished and he could hear the screems of the boys and girls that were falling along with him, remyr felt horrified but his mind quickly calmed down as he felt that the fall was unnatural and he was right, a few moments into the fall, the fog parted and everyone that's been falling was standing on the ground, some staggering, some unconscious and some just emptied their stomach, remyr seems to be the only one unaffected.
Remyr looked around and they seems to be in some sort of grant hall, remyr assumed this to be the entrance ceremony. Remyr suddenly realised that he and the others who were wearing noble attires just a moments ago were now transformed into some ragged cloaks and a wand at their hip
The others who realised this were also bickering to others in frustration.
But suddenly with a booming voice, someone sent a message directly to everyone's head.
-Welcome to Dreadwood.
Boom!
And soon, everyone present felt like the air around them was so dense for them to move as a heavy pressure descended down.
-Tell me do you all like my gift?
It was the same voice that spoke to them just now.
A giant skeleton head covered in green hue with a small greenish flame served as it's eyes appeared at the center of the hall. It released massive amounts of mana to the surrounding area.
'Oh a Lich!'
Liches were formerly powerful mages that turned themselves into undead to overcome death. Remyr remember hearing rumors about them before, but it was his first time seeing one with his own eyes. The students all had a terrified expressions on them.
One brave sould interjected.
"You!! What is this, where are my stuff?"
But the lich simply pointed a finger at him and the next moment that student knelt down and was repeatedly kowtowing on the ground.
'hypnosis magic'. Remyr instantly realised that the lich performed an offensive magic right off the bat.
'ugh, Sebastian, is this what you meant?'
------------------------------------------outside--
Suddenly being thrown outside the academy's magic field, instead of anger, Sebastian felt dejected, unbeknownst to many, apart from being the head Buttler of Ashewood, Sebastian was once a student in the same academy and currently a well accomplished mage, but even he was powerless against the magic deployed by the undying lich Drakthar. Knowing the antics of the principal, he tried sneaking in the luggage of the youngmaster but it was futile. Looking inside the carriage, he could see the meticulously packed luggage of the youngmaster, Sebastian could only sigh in defeat.
The only pleasing thing is that he could see other mages from some other prominent families harbouring the same expressions.
"Young master I hope you could have an enjoyable time there." Muttering that, Sebastian lead the carriage back.
