Act 1 Magic:
So she's the goddess I need. I said as I a figure of golden flames appeared in front of us, she wasn't appearing in a translucent form like those of the ancestral spirits but one of a fire spirit of the land.
Her rune glowed behind her simple symbol of a wheel, I was looking down as I was in my smaller form. "I want you're magic over wheels, to re-create something new." She felt curious, as I see no distinguishing marks of her vague feminine shape, as a fire burning from her unfinished shrine's sacred golden chained-brazier.
I felt amusement from her as she answered. "And what do you offer young earth god?" What can I give her? my time with the Honey-rose clan had taught me of the values of things, as goattles is the standard of all value. . . a favor depends on how much a clan can pay back another, a rich clan pay more than poor one but even the poorest clan would give everything they have left to fulfil their favor.
The gods functioned the same way, it's all values and favors. . . I the one hatch from a giant spoke. "I offer to tell my true name and a favor that matches the value of the magic I ask." this made her pause I felt her become serious, pondering my offer, I've seen the lust in her, and I don't want to be chained like the daughters of Raptori.
She smiled, her flaming figure showed a break in it's form's head. it felt devilish but I cannot be bias when dealing with fire. "I. . .want to hear your name first, and if I find your words as clear as the light of my grandmother. then I will give you the magic you ask, but if not and your just another trickster like that black rude little bird. . ." She did not continue but the threat was clear, be honest or I will force you out my descendants lands.
I thought about it, the name Cloudy was a false name I made up, when I remembered the first thing I've seen when I opened my eye in this new universe. . . Abyss was the name given to me once I've met the first intelligent life in this new life. . . And Daniel Fyrebird was the name I went by in my last life. . . I have many others, names I remember I was called by, in my fragmented memories of my other incarnations.
I would give my new given name, as that is my name now. I Abyss, spoke a sad, smile on my lips. "My name in this creation, is Abyss, born under a blue light, in a home of clouds, surrounded by nothing but darkness lit by an uncountable number of smaller fires."
I felt great confusion in her, as she pondered who I am, do they believe they would know who or what I am by my name? maybe if I was born under the turtles rule. Abyss spoke in tune filled with heat as demanded. "Now, share your 'magic' with me, or make an enemy your tribe wants among their ranks." I don't know why, but I felt strength was needed here, or this capricious goddess would turn back from her words.
She vanished her unfinished shrine burned to ash with golden fire as the priests around me kept there singing and then they stopped. the head priestess spoke to me. "Thank you lord Abyss, our lady had given us her favor please take the treasure she had left, she told me it'll give you what you need."
The priestess led me to the ash pile, and then it revealed itself a piece of gold that after I held it made me remember a more intimate knowledge of warcarts and what I was planning to make a wagon. . . this piece of gold was an Axel, the ancient equivalent of a ball bearing. I smiled and thanked the priests for there work, I promised them food as I left early in the next morning to hunt them a feast.
Act 2 Wagon:
In the late morning after giving the Fire-wheat clan two gigantic river lizards 6 metres long from maw to fatty tail. I then went to my sled and worked on it, with would carved and turned to stone and then I thought of something. and visited the crafters area.
As I walk within the village I saw the clanswomen of the Fire-wheat processing the I've gave them, others preparing ways to preserve the meat and work the hide, and others still working on there long elongated circular houses. using my obsidian bricks as there foundation. and the delegation I came with was helping them.
I saw the chieftess directing her people in building the houses, she saw me as I approach her. Chieftess Rozalia gave me a hearty smile. "Lord Abyss! welcome! thanks again for the food, with the supply you gave us we can focus on our houses rather than our fields, this fire season." She said as she turned around.
She yelled at group that was started working on a foundation of a home that was too close to another, making the path between to steep to traverse by cart, only wide enough to squeeze one person through.
Abyss spoke, my voice soft and calming. "I need some raw gold, chieftess I need them for the wagon I'm making." She turned back at me, gave it a short thought. "You mean that four wheeled cart?" she asked but before I can answer she yelled to a group of crafters to get me what I need. they came back quickly with baskets filled with gold chunks.
I took one of the baskets. "Thank you chieftess, I'll be back to help with the houses once I'm done." I went back to my working field and with my fire melted and molded the gold into Axles and made ball bearings, I placed in over the axles and then I placed the wheels on my wagon and then worked to make it more comfortable to ride.
It took me 2 nights a day but I was done, bone fire of flames surrounded me and liten up my creation a fancy covered wagon of the 20th century, honestly it looked like a trailer car with wagon wheels with it's wooden roof fully convertible.
I then heard singing and cheers behind me. I looked back and saw it was the delegation of the Honey-rose clan singing and some Wheat-fire clanswomen cheering for me. Chieftess Rozalia and Noble Lilianni came to me. they both gave me there congratulations.
Chieftess Rozalia was the first to speak. "Lord Abyss, you honor our goddess the Spoked-sun with your work." Next it was Lilianni. "Lord Abyss, you honor our 'Earth-weaver' for showing us a new creation" The night became another time of drinking, stories and songs. curious of all even the Honey-rose clan learned of my name.
Act 3 Return: Pov Noble-rider Lilianni
After a farewell feast, in the Fire-wheat clan, my party and I travelled back to our Clan, with Lord Abyss. And we were not alone, the Fire-wheat chieftess sent her own emissary mission giving reciprocal gifts of cheese and sunflower seeds. there leader was Achycian the diplomat.
In her party was the six permanent members of the exploration party Lord Abyss, was building two of them nobles, drivers of warcarts, and the four others were shields, companion of nobles and were apparently some of the best cooks in the Fire-wheat clan.
They were all youths, only a few seasons after there initiation to adulthood. A friend rode next to me as we rode at a quick pace. "Lilianni, our you sending your daughter with Lord Abyss? I heard from Reinna that our chieftess wants youths to be her daughter's companions following Lord Abyss visiting our mother clan."
I was conflicted I have three daughters and a son, my son was the oldest but he's already made his pod, and became an important part of the clan, my third and fourth daughters were too young still children, that only leaves my second, she was a devotee of the Bone-mender, I'm not sure if she can survive outside the clan.
"I'm not sure sister, but I think it'll depend on the needs of Lord Abyss, from the rumours I've heard he was looking for hunters or foragers leaning into foragers more than hunters." I saw that the footwomen that was escorting the delegation of the Fire-wheat clan standing atop the the quiet monstrous cart Lord Abyss was pulling.
"What do you think the 'Wagon' Lord Abyss made? you think we ask him to give us the secret of making smaller versions of it?something our horses can pull while we rode them?" That was nonsense even if he gave us that secret, it would weaken our connection with our Raptor goddess, and make us closer in becoming a Cart-clan.
"Wait, wait, hear me out, it wouldn't make us like our cousins, if we ask for Lady Raptori's Blessing, before we try it and look, Lord Abyss has been pulling it easily for hours, if we make it not as burdensome as the carts of our cousin but a Wagon, that a riderless Raptor can pull while we ride beside them. it'll make moving things easier!" That was actually a good Idea, I looked around it seems our conversation wasn't private as both my party and the Fire-wheat clan delegation was listening.
But still we talked about it and other topics, we were joined by both carters and riders. it made the journey feel shorter as after four hours travel we saw are opened hill surrounded by sparse woods. we were home.
Act 4 Rams:
I stayed in the Honey-rose clan for only a few days, to make more gifts and to let those who go with me make there last preparations, after that we left after another feast where everyone gave my travel party a ritual blessing, sharing a portion the blessing, they were given by their Trade God Ekarin. It gave me and members of my party the ability to make friends, from people who's willing to trade.
From what Chieftess Vivienne told me of what her daughter had found, there was 5 clans in total here in the Emerald forest outskirts. one was the Honey-rose clan, the Other was the Fire-wheat clan, and two where Ram clans that seemed to have migrated here years before the Honey-rose clan and a nomadic native Vulture clan, that moves through the entire forest edge, from the mountains in the north, and the large river marsh lands in the far south.
I went towards where the rams should be living at, my party was still missing a lot of people but I have what I need for now, I have some of the best cooks, of the Fire-wheat clan, and really good animal handlers from the Honey-rose clan. I hope I can get smiths from the rams and foragers from this vulture people.
As we travelled I was pulling my wagon, most of our supplies was inside, and the horses of the Honey-rose clan bows as they wanted to act as sentry at the top of the wagon, they told me they can scout at that higher vantage point, I said it was fine as I did make the wagon taller than I was.
And plus it made it so the other riders can scout a little ahead, riding around my wagon, as they can replace there tired raptors with the ones resting. the carters rode in the front being captious with the roots of trees.
I saw a patch of flowers in a small clearing. "Hey everyone, gather up and rest." It's been 3 hours since we started travelling, I let go of my wagon and walked towards the small meadow. I used my senses on the flowers and herbs, and felt some had magic in them I wish I knew how to gather them.
Thelia approached me, as I was observing the meadow. she was a noble youth of Fire-wheat clan and the best cook among our group. "Lord Abyss, I recognize some of them, do you want help harvesting?" She called over the riders and carters and as they helped me with harvesting the things they know how to harvest, I tried my best remembering the tricks I watched people on soltube do when they where re-enacting a gatherer lifestyle.
I think I did a good enough job as some of the things I harvested still had some kind of Psionic imprint in them, meaning they're useful for something but I'm not sure what, the others gather things with the weaker imprints in them telling me those were herbs used in flavoring food, and others where food themselves if prepared correctly.
After half an hour, of rest, we continued our way, and then the bows saw smoke in the distance. "Lord Abyss! were near, we can see settlement smoke." I thought about it and at first I was planning to observe them first but I should direct or else their ancestral spirits might detect us.
I called everyone to rest and be ready for a fight or flight. they did so, and after an hour of preparation and rest we continued, the bows rode there raptors and two shields took their place on my wagon, with there longbows prepared.
I told them I'll take the front and they'll take the sides and rear. we entered a cleared grasslands, I can see sign of woods cut and roots shredded. I look beyond and saw an earthen walled settlement in the distance and around it was farmland and pastures and small clusters of shacks.
We continued and as we did I asked the carters to sing and the rides to ring the bells of gold I made. to announce we arriving into there clan lands. as we continued I saw more activity from the settlement, and then when I saw boundary stones with symbols painted in blue dye I stopped the party.
And then let go of my cart and told my party to wait and rest, and that they did a good performance and that we would this everytime we approach a clan. they were happy with my decision.
After a few minutes, the rams sent out what seems to be a small war-party. they were all on foot, very much armed with bronze furred helms, blue clothed bronze cuirass, bronze javalines, and multiple pointed lances with banners depicting bears with snake features.
"Oh! they have battle beasts! they look like bears with snake heads." I mumbled but it seems the others heard me. as Thelia spoke, her warcart beside me. "I think they call themselves Summer rams, before the rebel slayed the Radiant-sun, some storm people did live in the summer court lands. still near the winter homes of the rams but they did enjoy longer summers."
I turned to her still in my titan form. "Are they friendly to your people? I know everyone of the summer court were friendly or atleast tolerant of each other, there were many cities owned by different suns. where they Star people before the rebellion."
Thelia didn't answer, but Vanessa the noble of the riders did. "They're still rams even if they used to live within the summer court, they're strangers at best and enemies to us now, specially as they're goddess slew ours, but if the news was true then we might now be at peace."
Thelia nodded at the answer believing at the news they're clan told us. "Well no matter they're nearing, what do you guys want me to do impressive magical display or do we hope they'll be cautious enough because of my size?" Everyone laughed at my words as I shook my head and started to feed psionic energy into my inner flame, fire and steam started to play over my skin as some energy was released.
Act 5 Hospitality: Pov Chieftess Biretta:
This was new, I knew we just gained new neighbors, a little more than a half a day away by hunting party, and that the Winter-claw clan attacked them earlier in the fire season. do they thing we did it? and this was a delegation of peace or warning of war?
No matter, but there giant does concern me it's power scares the fire and wind spirits we used for battle. I was riding one of our Viper-bears and damn the giant was bigger than the alpha viper-bear my father owns back at our ancestral clan.
The bells and singing seems to a be a sign of peace and there not inside our lands yet just on the borders. they're intention seems peaceful but they do grip there weapons so they're not fools, as this could still become violent.
Chieftess Biretta spoke. "I Biretta chieftess of Fanged-ale clan, of the Summerlanta tribe. what is the purpose of your visit, worshipers of the summer gods?" I recognize there long ears and golden gear, they belong to the daughter of the Dead-sun that made peace with our head god. the Storm-bringer Orlanthria.
I expected the sun worshipers to talk, but there battle giant spoke for them. "I am Abyss, and these people part of my party, I ask hospitality within your lands and I offer gifts." He's words gave a warmth, like that of hearth fire during a dark winter. He then took matts made of plant fiber and fur from there large wheeled carrier, and then walked towards us.
He was only a handful of metres from us, and wow his large, he kneeled down, and left the gifts on the dried grass ground, and then just stood there waiting for a reply. My thane standing next to me spoke. "Chieftess should we accept? the giant spoke Orlanthrian, and he might be a summer god, based on the magic our priests and spirits feel."
I rubbed my companions fur as I felt her worried, our Viper-bears are powerful spirit beasts, but they could still feel the power of stronger predators. and they know they might fight one.
I looked at the gifts again, all together they might be worth 10 or 12 Sheep-cattle, they could be worth more if there enchanted by fire spirits to bring more warmth and comfort.
I decided on an answer. "I Chieftess Biretta, Grant hospitality in the name of my Goddess Orlanthria, for as long as you may need it. you are welcome in my hall." After that I turned around and told my warriors to tell the others of my choice, hopefully it isn't a bad one.
Act 6 Talk:
The Chieftess granted us hospitality which was to treat us the best they could and we treat them best we could and everything went well, there gods would bless them, depending on the name they gave.
I gifted them more goods and the easiest to spoil foraged we gathered. and then traded some of the herb spices, for bronze and fabric. "Thank you, merchant." It's good that they have a full market square.
I was in my smaller form as I explored there settlement, there wall carving seem to tell stories, and from what I see they use wood more than stone and they carved very well.
I was tracing my hand on a particular story of a good known as the 'Woodswoman' she seem to be a sister or child of the rebellious-storm but it is clear that he taught his descendants how to work wood to its highest level. . . there's a story here.
I spoke as I thought about the story. "She was able to imprison a lesser a sun? using a wooden cage made out winter pines. . .empressive." Interesting is winter pines immune or resistant to burning?
I felt someone approach seem to have heard me. "Yes, godling of the summer court, winter-pine resin is to a degree fireproof." What I saw was an old bear, He was a ram, his brown fur turned gray and his human parts looked old, his small rounded ears was visible pecking out of his short tied hair. over all he looked like he was in his 60s.
I saw his blue dye tattoos all over his face and arms, and probably under his clothes. Abyss answered. "You know I'm a young god? those who welcome us called me Jothen, a mountain Giant." I told him, as I sat down next to him at bench he sat on as he fed, strips of meat to small cat size sabretooth cats.
He laughed and gave me an old man smile. "Well those were the youngin's of the clan, they haven't even lived enough to have met a manifestation of our gods, at most they've only fought the giants of our home." He said while he continued with his feeding.
"This clan was made when our tribes king wanted to expand the influence of our people so he sent her oldest daughter and the daughters of his thanes, and some elders to establish a clan in this part of the world, we succeeded years ago." He spoke like the rambling old men from my world.
"Tell me summer god is the peace true? My grandmother told me long ago that the coast of our freedom and right to exist was an eternal war with the summer court. . . I want to know." He stopped his feeding and looked at me. I wish I can give the old man peace but I cannot.
"I'm not sure, that was why I'm traveling to where peace was made." I told him honestly and then he accepted it giving me a tired breath, I can feel he has been warring against the people of summer court for almost his entire life.
I placed my hand on his head and gave his heart warmth, helping him easier to cope with life he had lived. "Thank you godling, that gives me comfort, that maybe one day my children and there own kids, wouldn't need to fight an eternal war."
I stood and left the old man to his cats, as I made my way to the clan hall, the Chieftess promised a feast and to listen to my request. but she might want me to offer her something.
Act 7 Feast:
As I entered the hall it was closing to evening and it sounded like marryment has started, my gifts were placed at the foot of the chiefs table, and I saw them sitting on the matts while playing board games while they drunk barley ale.
I see my party joining the marryment singing songs, dancing to music and telling stories. I'm lucky I picked the most opened minded ones if I didn't I might had to stop fight and probably cursed by a god.
"Hey! Abyss had showed, come here friend Summer giant! seat next to me." Chieftess Biretta Shouted at me all the at end of the hall, she was drinking and speaking with seems to be other guests and the clan leaders.
I gave a slight bow and then spoke. "Thank you for your hospitality." I then took a horn cup and then drank the sweet yet bitter black ale and then went to the middle of the hall. and then gave everyone warning.
"I would like to entertain you all, can I proceed chieftess?" She laughed at me as a joke was told to her by those next to her.
"It is fine Abyss! but nothing too lewd! Ha ha ha!" I smiled at her and then nodded and then with my inner flame filling my lungs I sang a story as everything around me played in light followed my story.
I sang the story of two families having a feud, I sang about their battles against each other, I sang about the love between two youths from each family, and then I sang of their tragic end but also a version of the story where they live happily, being the bridge to end the war between there families.
The show ended with the light deeming into nothing and the halls turned off candles and braziers turned back on. Everyone was with no words for but then they cheered and drank. "More! More! I love the lights! Lord Abyss!" Everyone was yelling for another telling.
So I did, I told them stories with no names, with only characters so they might feel and become the actors in the stories I tell, but then again I love telling the stories my home, giving some names and the details of light more specific. the monsters terrified them. the heroes gave them heart and the tragedies filled those hearts.
I only told three stories but to them I told a hundred. at the end all was drank and on the floor, others in quieter and much deeper conversation, I was in such conversation.
I was speaking to the chieftess, now that she wasn't in her bronze war regalia, she was attractive in a different way, and I was right they appeared like bear-strain gene-children. Her soft plump thighs, her upward tits and that deep waist of hers and she appears young maybe in her late 20s for her human parts.
"My request chieftess I asked for. . ." She had drank many but I can still see sharpness in her eyes.
"You want some of my people? I know, one of your followers told my thanes me about it. you want smiths or versatile crafters." She cut me off but that was fine.
"Yes, and as I promised to other clans I made this deal with they will be under my protection, and they can come back to there clans after a few years of travelling with me." Abyss told Biretta as she glanced at his party members.
"Do they need to be young?" Biretta asked as I felt her curiosity.
"No they do not Chieftess Biretta, the other chiefs wanted their children to look for husbands as well as be able to experience the world before settling down home." She felt amused by my answer but she liked it.
"Well like our new clan neighbors, we do have an influx of young people with wanderlust, I'll let you meet them, but we have few young smiths and I'm not sure if they want to wander." She was sincere so I gave her a nod of understanding.
"Here Chieftess, think of it as payment for your kindness." I gave her my token. "It's a holy treasure with it, you can make an altar to me and with it's blessing grant the ability for some of your people to turn wood to stone." I gave her a stone horn cup with my symbol and inner flame.
"Ha ha ha! The old man was right, you are a godling but sorry but I don't think my people would need this, we like would the best especially for our homes." She said as she looked at it in different ways using her hot wind flavored magic to look into it deeper.
"That's fine you can also just keep it as a treasure, if you filled it with your most sweetest ale, you will be able to contact me wherever I may be. check on your people and such." She was even more curious and then poured ale in the horn.
It drained and then I felt her in mind. *So why did you call me?* she was looking at me and I was looking at her. I spoke to her without moving my mouth. *Can you hear me?*
"I do, you just wasted good ale." She laughed more and then looked around before hiding the treasure into her cape. "Well I wanted to check! I have been scammed by giant before didn't want it to happen again!"
"Is that really all you want from my clan? people to join you travel? it's not like you need guards why are you gathering mortals?" She was asking me seriously but making it seem she doesn't care for my answer.
"Honestly I just don't want to travel alone, the spirits keep me company sometimes, but they're odd. and I prefer the company of people." She gave me a nod.
"Our gods are the same, they love mortals not just because where there descendants, but they like are company, that's probably why are ancestral spirits barely visits us as they're too busy at the side of our gods." That explains why I only felt a few of them and there mostly friendly.
"Your ancestors don't hate Summer court people?" I asked her.
"No they don't, are greatest enemy where other Orlanthrians, they did far worse to our ancestors than any summer court people, we actually have myths about the raptor riders, trading with our people and fighting with us against our ancestral enemy." Huh that's interesting that explains why they where this friendly with us.
"Your turn, what kind of god are you? from what we know all gods have a domain and natures. and depending on that they only influence a few things." She was getting drunker now, as I felt her mind less focused.
"I have fire as my core, wilds and earth as my nature. but I have other things like my power over language and I have a knack for creation." And she fainted after I finished speaking. I looked at the table and we already had more than 20 rounds of ale. I gave a breath and left the now sleeping hall.
Act 8 Storm:
As I left the hall of the Fanged-ale clan, I was not greeted by relatively small but tightly knitted village worth of wooden cabins and heyed roofs. and did not see the surrounding earthen walls with high carved timber palisades. but an open field of green grass.
In the field one figure was looking beyond to the horizon where the sun disappeared too hours ago. She was beautiful, her skin a dark blue, her long black dancing with the winds, that same winds shrouded her in mystical clouds, arcing small lightnings.
She was barefoot, with a bronze sword in hand, and bronze twisted circlets at her head and at the end of her limbs. her light blue clothes and scarf bellowing in the winds.
"Don't just stand there gawking, stand next to me." Her voice was powerful like the crack of thunder but also gentle like the breeze that would take an autumn leaf for an adventure.
I did what she told me and watched over the horizon. "My mother's too prideful to admit it, but even us people of the storm needs a sun to live. . ." Her frown turned into a smile as she turned around and looked eastward.
"But color me surprise that one of our kids, managed to hook a daughter of a sun. and not just any lesser sun, but one of the brightest. the one with the shield" She continued and then I felt her finally acknowledging me.
"Now, I heard a godling, a new sun of the summer court, had been drinking with my direct children. we may be at at ceasefire but still that doesn't mean we can visit each other's descendants, this casually." She was smiling at me her shining light brown and blue eyes, showing sharpness and threat.
"I apologize if I offended you daughter of Orlanthria, but I must correct you I have not joined the summer court but they did give me the offer." I said while giving her a low bow. I felt her confusion at my action.
"Even the lesser suns would never give us any politeness even in defeat. . . you really are not from the summer court, godling." Her grin turned serious as she thought of what I was.
"I am Abyss. daughter of Orlanthria, I have come from beyond your world and have been reborn here for not but five decades of summers." She looked puzzled with my explanation which means she isn't as wise and old as the 'Advice giver' of the riders.
"I have no Idea there was a beyond, but being born only fifty storm seasons ago, and not being a native of our world would explain your youth and refusal of the summer court." Her smile returned, as I felt her satisfaction after coming understand me in her way.
"So kid! want to join the storm-gang? where currently winning the war in heaven, and another sun even as young as you are, would be good for us!" She was happy as she started playing unseen thunderous bells as she swung her sword in a kind of dance.
"Also my names, Vesthia Summer. the founder of the Summerlanta tribe and people. Much like the founder gods of the riders and carters you took on as followers" She stopped her happy dance as she sat down and tapped the ground next to me.
I looked up and there weren't any stars or moons, but I know there should be some, when I was with the Honey-rose and Fire-wheat clans, there where stars above us, but no moon.
"One of the reasons we need suns in our own court, is because we are very much losing to darkness during the nights. during when the sun's travel away from our children's homes" She looked angered as she spoke.
Huh, so concept of darkness is another group of gods, the summer court people I met wasn't bothered by the darkness, I did see many depiction and heard stories of the ancestors of the Honey-rose clan fight off people of darkness, calling pig-face trollkine but I thought that was allegory for something but now I think it's literal.
So this pig faced orc looking people are one of the enemies of the storm gods. Alright, I need to make note of that. "Sorry but I'm not joining the storm court to Lady Vesthia." She looked angered at my words.
Winds circled around us but it did not attack me as I felt she was giving me chance to speak. "You must understand Lady Vesthia, I'm trying to be neutral, and I do not want to fight in the wars of others. partly why I did not accept the offer of lady Elmhelia when she told me she was willing to adopt me into her tribe."
I suppose that was the wrong answer as she struck at me, her sword shouded in winds, and her eyes sparked in lightning. I tried to dodge but her blade was too fast and she had cut through my chest as I was blown from her.
"Agh. . ." I groaned with pain, my physical projection, was bleeding azul gold, that turned into crystals as it landed on the ground. I focused my inner flames as my wound closed and healed.
"You should have accepted the offer boy!" She yelled at me as harsh warm wind battered me, and her other hands started sparking lightning.
She wasn't singing! how? all the projection using mental focus can only be done one at a time! I looked at her, saw psionic energy in her hand, surrounding her sword and shrouding her. that's three! how can she. . .
As I thought she finished her magic and threw a bolt of lightning towards me. I only had enough time to start a song. "Oooh oh ooOH. fire on my, daaay." and it worked flames started to be pulled from my inner flames and burst out at my chest.
I turned around and ran to make distance from the violent goddess. I looked back and saw my fire dispersed by her lightning and it continued towards me.
I tried to dodge, I succeeded jumping, as the lightning struck the earth turning the grass black. "Come back here coward! and fight me!" She said as I felt her flying towards me.
No, no, no! this was why I didn't want to join them! Let's try this. "Please! Lady Vesthia, Your fighting someone unarmed and younger than you please show mercy!" She was angered by my words and I felt another gathering of magic, and looked back to see her gathering lightning again.
"I am being merciful! now be a good boy and stand still!" She was taking longer than last time. can she not do it over and over? is there a limit? I took my chance and sang a song to manifest my projection.
Guitar played at the background as I sang "Moved my family out of our flaming home! let there be no fear in time. . ." I sang a country song about a family moving to somewhere else as fire followed behind them.
I willed the flames in the song to manifest, and then there we were surrounded with flames. and then I "Let the fires, turn the night into a new day!" she threw lightning at me as sent a wave of fire rushing to her.
The spear of lightning, pierced through my wave but did not stopped it as I felt my fire consuming her and her spear stabbed and blew away my arm as I tried to block it.
I was clutching my closing stub, as my fire flickered out. her clothes where burnt, leaving her almost naked, her bronze jewelry, melted and cooled off again, but she was unwounded. not even one burn on her smooth dark blue skin.
Then there was me, on my knees in pain, missing an arm, and my inner flame burning low. she laughed as I gave a breath with a defeated smile, well this life was fun. note to self avoid crazy gods next life.
"Ha ha ha! your powerful for being so young! you have my interest Abyss the Fire-singer. my descendants would treat you well, consider yourself a friend of my tribe." With that she disappeared in a burst of wind and I found myself on a small hill overlooking the village of the Fanged-ale clan.
I layed down, and looked up the almost empty cloudy skies, as the stars were clustered in the clear skies of the northwest, where I know now means that's where the Honey-rose and Fire-wheat clans had settled
My arm was re-growing slowly. . ."I think I need to re-learn how to fight, I had some practice with a spear, but I don't think I can fight the gods like I would wild beasts." My mind wonder as time passed.
