"They think we're being discourteous. They think we've forced you out of the equation to corner them further than what we already had. They are also suspicious of our ethical standing now, because people who can cut off their own allies in hope of a share of extra benefit cannot be a trusted partner, can they?" Merik explained to Ken while Oselos stared at Ken with a fiery gaze.
"So what do you want me to do about it? Accompany you four into their residence and meet the matriarch?" Ken asked.
"That would be splendid, yes." Merik nodded, looking hopeful.
"What do I get from helping out your clans this way?" Ken said. A smile began to form across his lips as he watched Oselos turn even more furious upon hearing his question.
