Chapter 14 - "Will this make you feel better?"

Emperor Rong looked arrogant and disdainful: "Don't pretend to be something you're not! It's Jiaojiao who's giving you a chance. For someone like you, seizing an opportunity is like a fish breaking through the net. Don't act tough with me here!"

Zhang Zhili responded sarcastically: "So, do I owe you a thank you?"

Emperor Rong's face flushed with anger. She took several deep breaths before barely suppressing her rage: "You're flaunting your arrogance because you want money, right?" She took out a bank card from her bag. "There's ten million in here. Go see Jiaojiao. This card is yours."

Emperor Rong thought she had Zhang Zhili figured out. She believed that as long as the money was enough, he would be like those people before, obediently at her beck and call.

Zhang Zhili chuckled mockingly, "Why don't you keep this money for Jiaojiao's grand funeral?"

Seeing Zhang Zhili unyielding, Emperor Rong gestured to the bodyguards. Several of them, with fierce expressions, moved towards Zhang Zhili.

Unexpectedly, as one of them approached, Zhang Zhili landed a punch squarely on his face. Then, he casually grabbed another's arm and with a loud bang, flipped him over, causing him to crash heavily into the car's windshield, shattering it like a spiderweb.

Zhang Zhili was like a tiger among sheep. In just half a minute, all the bodyguards Emperor Rong brought were lying on the ground, unable to move. Silence enveloped the scene.

Emperor Rong retreated in shock, realizing that even these bodyguards, who were at least special forces level, were easily defeated.

Emperor Rong knew it was impossible to force Zhang Zhili anymore. She reluctantly dropped her aggressive stance and asked, "What do you want in order to agree to go back?"

"If money isn't enough, then name your price!" Zhang Zhili said, visibly irritated. "Do you really think money can buy anything?"

"So you want to name your price? Fine!" "Now kneel down and apologize to me, slap yourself ten times, and admit that you are blind and foolish like a pig. Then, I'll go back to continue treating Song Jiaojiao."

Emperor Rong clenched her fists tightly. "How dare you insult me?"

Zhang Zhili remained calm. "Insult? I'm just teaching you how to be a decent person."

Emperor Rong's anger surged, but before she could retort, Song Siming arrived.

Seeing the bodyguards lying on the ground, Song Siming naturally guessed what had happened. He also heard Zhang Zhili's words clearly.

Though Zhang Zhili's tone was overly domineering, Song Siming felt only a fleeting sense of displeasure, knowing Emperor Rong's temper too well. Saying she brought it on herself wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Moreover, nothing was more important than Song Jiaojiao's illness. Over these years, he had consulted numerous doctors and tried everything. Yet, Zhang Zhili was the only one who managed to elicit a useful response from Song Jiaojiao. He regretted not firmly believing in Zhang Zhili. He felt like giving himself a slap in the face!

Song Siming's anger surged, and he stepped forward, landing a slap on Emperor Rong's face. She staggered back, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

"I told you to ask Mr. Zhang to come back, not to go crazy!"

Emperor Rong covered her face, unbelieving. "How dare you hit me?!"

"I not only hit you, but if you keep causing trouble, I'll go to your family's elders and expose all your dirty laundry." Emperor Rong quieted down instantly upon hearing this. She feared no one and nothing, except her own family elders.

Song Siming smiled apologetically to Zhang Zhili: "Brother Zhang, I was rude today, please forgive me. Give me some face, alright?"

Zhang Zhili smiled back and replied, "Mr. Song, as a wealthy man, you naturally have face, but I'm a man of my word. Even if you're a tycoon, I can't let myself go back on my promises."

Song Siming nodded, and with a fierce glint in his eyes directed at Huang Furong, he stepped forward and slapped her repeatedly, leaving her swollen-faced and sitting on the ground, forgetting even to cry.

"Brother Zhang, does this help vent your anger?" Song Siming asked.

"I keep my promises, let's go back now," Zhang Zhili nodded.

Zhang Zhili returned to Song Jiaojiao's room, where Qiao Si was still waiting outside.

"May I go in and have a look?" Qiao Si couldn't help but ask.

"Of course, come in and see for yourself, so you won't speak nonsense next time," Zhang Zhili said coldly before entering the bedroom.

Inside, Song Jiaojiao was sitting on the bed, hugging her legs tightly.

"Mom, did you give Zhang any trouble?" Song Jiaojiao asked cautiously, eager for her mother not to offend Zhang Zhili.

"No, everything's fine. Let's start the acupuncture again," Zhang Zhili smiled.

Relieved, Song Jiaojiao quickly got back into position on the bed.

Zhang Zhili resumed the acupuncture, and as soon as the needles were inserted, Song Jiaojiao fell into a deep sleep.

Qiao Si and Song Siming stood by, stunned.

"Your acupuncture skills are incredible! Truly incredible!" Qiao Si exclaimed in amazement.

Zhang Zhili paid no attention, only saying to Song Siming, "I've left a prescription. Follow it for medication. I'll come by every three days to do acupuncture for her."

Song Siming quickly agreed. Just as Zhang Zhili was about to leave, Qiao Si stepped forward.

"Master Zhang, I... I want to be your student. I want to learn acupuncture!"

"Many psychiatric patients suffer from insomnia. If I could learn acupuncture, I..." Qiao Si continued, but Zhang Zhili turned away and left.

"Master... please teach me," Qiao Si pleaded.

Song Siming blocked Qiao Si and followed Zhang Zhili downstairs.

"Brother, I'm really sorry about today. This car was originally meant for you, but you left too quickly and missed it. This car is compensation for my ex-wife's mistake."

"I have a villa on the top of Tianyue Mansion Hill. I'll give it to you as a fee for treating my daughter!"

"And here are some Da Hong Pao tea leaves, from this year's harvest. They say it's worth six hundred thousand per catty. I can't tell if it's good. Brother, could you try it and see if it's worth it?"

Song Siming handed over the keys to the house and car, along with the tea leaves, to Zhang Zhili.

After taking them, Zhang Zhili smiled and said, "Song Jiaojiao's illness is nothing, but yours is troublesome."

Surprised, Song Siming asked, "You can tell?"

"I could tell at our first meeting! You had liver cirrhosis three years ago, and underwent a liver transplant surgery. Although the surgery was successful, you've been experiencing rejection reactions ever since, relying on medication to suppress it."

"Most likely, the medication for rejection reactions has become resistant, so you don't have much time left," Zhang Zhili said before Song Siming could respond.

"Can you cure me?" Song Siming asked hopefully.

"I can, but it requires some very rare medicinal herbs. If you can find them, I can prepare the medicine for you," Zhang Zhili promised.

"No matter what kind of medicine it is, I'll find it. Mr. Zhang, if you can save me, you'll be a great benefactor to me and my daughter. My family will not hesitate to do anything for you," Song Siming promised solemnly. Realizing that Zhang Zhili's words had given him a glimmer of hope. At his age, Song Siming understood all too well that wealth and power were meaningless if he lost his life.

Zhang Zhili nodded slightly, wrote down the required medicinal herbs, and left quietly.

Driving the Rolls-Royce, Zhang Zhili felt somewhat uncomfortable. When his parents were alive, his father was just an ordinary civil servant, and although his mother ran a small antique collection company, their financial situation could only be considered middle class. A luxury car like the Rolls-Royce was something he was driving home for the first time. Tang Yanran had already finished work and was at home. There were seven or eight dishes on the table, and her parents-in-law were still busy in the kitchen.

"Are we expecting guests?" Zhang Zhili asked.

Before Tang Yanran could answer, her mother-in-law came out of the kitchen with a dark face and said angrily, "Isn't it all because of you! Offending Mr. Huang and then saying you'd protect us. As a result, he came to seek revenge. Where did you go?"
