A barbaric wide grin slapped on my face and eyes that'll almost pop out from excitement while I kept them trapped on the Chartreuse line on my precious computer. The tiny rectangular box in the screen was filling up every passing minute and now there 1 millimetre left that also vanished, leaving the screen on intense glitching.
There was no sound reaching my eyes but I could feel my body vibrate from the loud historic laugh I was forming. Yes Yes! My invention, my precious invention finally came to life. A colossal, dark pit materialised to my right, filled with an assortment of implements I had scavenged and engineered, particularly those designed for high-quality VR.
I threw the lab coat covering my body like a piece of trash and stepped near the pit, feeling every one of my crazed poundings inside the chest and spreading my arms. I jumped.
I dropped out of High-school, not because I was bullied. To put it simply, I had no interest in those things they called education. Everything was too easy and they offered me to apply as a young CTO but I'm not the type to work under someone. People often called me selfish bastard because all I cared about was what I liked and they were right. Gaming was a huge achievement to me. But at one point, I got bored of it too. Nothing was a challenge in the VR world. So I made a world for myself- a challenge that I can control-
[Blazeborne of the Aeonwrath]- A mixture RPG world of spirits, demons, ghosts and humans.
It took 15 years of my life to form this masterpiece using the time travel theory. Of course I used some reference- the top 10 popular world games are mixed here. Just the mere thought of rivalling them in flesh and bones makes my heart plump into a banyan tree. I'm plunging myself into the [Hero] of this game, the most powerful Blazeborne- appointed ruler of the Aeonwrath throne- the throne of every race. When I do, I'm going to claim the throne and rule all the main characters I've ever played with and all those demons that ever gave me a hard time winning, will be slaughtered. In fact I might erase them all.
I feel as if my kidneys have switched and my guts have gone flying somewhere and the blinding purple light has almost come to an end. A hard shove of electricity and I'm tasting the dry mud that tasted like nothing in my tongue, only made me thirstier.
"Agrh!" A groan escaped my lips. Felt like I haven't heard my own voice for years.
I stayed still, laying on the ground. Heart pounding like batshit crazy. Body throbbing as if the limbs had been cut off and restitched. Head felt burdened by an unbearable weight, like a hundred rocks pressing down on me.
Took me a few minutes to just stand up and look around. A desert but the searing heat wasn't bothering my skin. I gazed at my trembling hands to check the gear around my wrist that I can use to return. If it was intact- hang on! Did I choose the wrong colour for human skin?
Why is my skin Ashen?
An absurd amount of terror trapped my heart in an instant when I trailed my hand through my inhuman body, especially when I realised the gear was no longer there.
"Fuck! No no no!" I jerked my head around as if I was a chicken who noticed the Eagle.
I dropped on my knees, digging through the dry mud which is more like sand now. I tripped right at this place. It should be here. Chunks of sand infiltrated my fingernails and that's when I noticed the large, distorted shaped nails and the hint of purplish hue mingled with the ashen pallor of my skin.
Ah, now I know. I became a fucking ghost.
I can't tell how much time passed but I was still looking for my gear to get the hell out of there.
[Mortal force]- Humans had positions of their own and the [Dark force]- Demons, Spirits, Ghosts had tiers. The top tier haunted the lower ones which made it a world of chaos, unlike the humans who had a leader to guide them. I was supposed to be 'that leader'! Why am I in a pathetic Ghost body, the lowest of the ranks?
'Rank' was formed by a battle or combat of both forces. The one that exceeded the 1st rank would get the 'Aeowrath'. I put Blazeborne on Rank 100 just so it didn't get easy for me.
But at the moment nothing mattered. I only want to return. I have -0 ideas how this happened. Was there a bug? I have more than a hundred percent of confidence that I didn't make any mistakes in the system. Well, the system can die for all I care, I need my gear! If I can't find it I'll be doomed in a world I created.
That's when I heard footsteps approaching and faint chattering. The smell of humans. Disgusting! How in the world do I even know that? But it smelt kind of…mouth watering.
Curiosity piqued, I turned around to face the two individuals, causing them to freeze in their tracks. It must have been quite a shock to see a ghost standing right before them!
For a moment I felt powerful and thought of haunting them down.
I launched towards them and all it took was a hard slap on my face that brought out the raisin blood from my throat and cheeks, gushing out of my mouth. It seemed I had even lost a tooth or two in the process. A loud ring echoed painfully in my ear and I lost all sensation. Were humans this powerful? Oh yes! It's a game I created. Then the feeling I had a moment ago wasn't power but fear. I was petrified and rushed to save myself. Ghosts are terrified of humans.
