Chapter 1 - Fang Yuan!

Chapter 1: Fang Yuan!

Yellow Peach City,

The sky has just lightened up with the first ray of sunlight tearing through the veil of darkness.

Hua! Hua! Hua!

The sound of punching continuously rang in the room. A boy of twelve years of age was the source of the noise. Fang Yuan would start his training at dawn.

"Fang Yuan, come out for your breakfast."

"Coming!"

Fang Yuan stopped after his mom's voice rang. He immediately wiped the sweat and walked out.

There was a small table with five chairs in the living room. Fang Yuan's father had already started breakfast, and he was eating in a hurry. His rough demeanor and rugged-up clothes showed the harshness of the work.

"Here," A gentle voice said and placed the food before Fang Yuan.

"Thank you, Mom," Fang Yuan thanked his mother and started his breakfast. The plate didn't have expensive food, but simple rice and a single egg omelet.

Chen Haoxi also sat down on her table, and she simply had the rice as her breakfast. Everyone eating eggs wasn't possible in the Fang family.

Seeing the scene before him further motivated Fang Yuan to work hard and make his family rich so they wouldn't have to just survive on rice.

"Honey, I am leaving." Fang Tian stood up after completing the breakfast and hurried out of the house.

The world in which Fang Yuan lived was a world where moving mountains and seas weren't a dream but a reality.

"How is your practice going?" Chen Haoxi asked.

She was a woman in her middle age, and just like her husband, the harshness of the work had roughened her up. She had an average appearance, but due to tiresome work, she looked in her fifties.

"I am confident of stepping into the third level Qi refining before the admissions begin," Fang Yuan replied with a confident smile.

Everyone could cultivate in Fang Yuan's world. The talent only determined the cultivation speed.

Fang Yuan didn't have a great talent, and his poor background put him in additional trouble. The admission age was 15 years, as the Federation of Sects stipulated on the Qingtian continent.

There were seven major sects, and to get admission into any of them, the lowest requirement was sixth-level Qi refining. Fang Yuan knew his limits, so he wasn't trying for the seven sects but for any of the three minor sects in Yellow Peach City.

If he reached the third level before admission, he was sixty percent sure of getting into the best sect in the city.

Chen Haoxi nodded with an appreciative smile after hearing the confidence in her son's statement. But the next moment, a pitiful expression appeared on her face, and she commented with a sigh, "Only if me and your father worked harder, you wouldn't have to work that hard."

"Mom, what are you even saying?" Fang Yuan indignantly responded. He didn't resent his parents for being poor. He could see how hard his parents worked just so he and his siblings could survive in the city.

Yellow Peach City wasn't a major city, but it was still better than those who didn't even have residences and needed to survive in the wild. His family was doing better than them.

"Okay, I am leaving. If your brother and sister interrupt you, lock them in the room," Chen Haoxi commented, and then she also left for her work.

The Fang family had five members, with Fang Tian being the patriarch, Chen Haoxi as the mother and three children. Fang Yuan was the eldest of three, followed by Fang Zan, the second brother, and Fang Yua, the youngest and only sister.

Fang Yuan ate his breakfast in silence, saving the omelet for the last. After finishing the rice, Fang Yuan cut the omelet into two halves. He ate the first half and cut the remaining half into another two halves for his two siblings.

Fang Yuan was the only one to have eggs as his breakfast in the family since he was preparing for admission. If he got into a sect, his siblings would have a better chance with the increased resources.

But Fang Yuan being Fang Yuan, how could he eat an egg omelet for himself while his siblings aren't having that?

Not long after, Fang Zan and Fang Yua walked out of the parent's room. The four slept in one room, while Fang Yuan slept alone in a room the size of a small bed since he needed to train every morning.

Fang Zan was ten years old, while Fang Yua was seven years old. They immediately rushed to their elder brother and asked for their share.

With a gentle smile, Fang Yuan handed them their share. He then walked to his room and returned to his training.

Time flew by and two years have gone by in a flash.

"Happy Birthday to you, elder brother," Fang Yua called out and suddenly handed a broken pagoda to Fang Yuan.

Fang Yuan smiled and refused the pagoda. It was a toy he found several years ago while taking his siblings to walk.

The pagoda was broken, but since it had golden edges with mystical patterns, Fang Yua liked it. Thinking of it as a treasure, Fang Yuan picked it up. But after going to a jeweler, they found that it wasn't a valuable material, but simple wood painted in gold.

But since Fang Yua liked it, she kept it as her toy. Seeing her give her favorite toy to himself, Fang Yuan couldn't take it.

A pout appeared on Fang Yua's face, and her eyes turned moist when Fang Yuan refused her favorite toy.

"Why are you making your sister cry? Take it," Fang Tian reprimanded Fang Yuan upon seeing the expression on Fang Yua's face.

Fang Yuan was left with no choice but to take that, and he thanked his sister. The birthday ended with that, and then the family went to the dinner table.

Fang Zan and Fang Yua had watery mouths since there was meat on the table. The family would only have meat on birthdays, so everyone in the family waited for any birthday.
