Chapter 15 - Damn! Bat and vines

He maintained his cool.

(But inwardly he was he was deep in thought.)

The vampire race although not unknown, they were rare in neutral places like this they mostly like staying in their home land.

"There must be something making her to stay here." He refrained from asking her as it might be personal.

He decided to ask her about something else.

So Betty what kind of powers you got when you awakened? He asked her with interest.

"Her mood brightened as her interest was piqued to divulge."

Well my class is the blood control type, as for my aspect abilities; it involve blood manipulation and is heightened by my vampire bloodline.

(I can't tell you my other one for secretive reasons maybe later...)

As for my grade it's a unique type, even if it's lower than an elite one it doesn't mean I will be weaker than them.

She said with some pride in her voice.

What about you Jacob, I've told you some of mine what is yours. Betty said eyeing him.

Jacob was stumped with that question and now almost regretted asking.

His class was (unknown)...

His Aspect was strangely plenty compared to normal people and his initial one was also his ability in a way.

"Some awaken has two aspect and their grade is from unique upward, but it doesn't make everyone with high grade have it."

But here he is having four.

"He decided to reveal what he can tell."

I can't tell you my class but as for my aspect it's a vide range disruption of emotions and close quarter fighting stuff, he idlely said.

Betty noticed he wasn't saying most things by scrutinizing his expression, he definitely can't hide that he is lying infront of me.

She said inwardly, intensifying gaze on him.

Shit! Jacob cursed inside, she saw true my facade.

But thankfully she respected my intension.

He heared a vibration from a watch she was wearing he didn't notice till now.

She abruptly got up before facing him: I'll have to go now Jacob, home calls.

"See you" in school, she waved at him as she walked away.

"He bade her goodbye."

Now he was alone, he felt strangely at peace.

Looking at the moon he noticed dark clouds brewing, slowly covering the moon the only source of light of the garden the surroundings dark, to an extent that normal humans will be unable to see.

But to his eyes the surroundings was just a bit dim.

He concentrated on recovering his aura, his focus fully on himself in a meditative state.

85% recovery he mused to himself, even as he was talking with Betty for a few minutes it passively recovered, it was pretty fast.

"Then he stoped at this line of thought having figured out something: this means at night he recovered faster than at day, he compared the speed of his recovery now with some hours ago."

With around thirty minutes left to stay here his aura was ninety five percent recovered.

With all this time spent to recover he couldn't help but wonder: aren't my aura levels too high for a normal level one?

Wait! but he couldn't be anything but normal his Aspects, his class, being partially awakened and his few abilities or skills.

If he remembered correctly when his aura recovered to about 70% he felt normal as he had been that morning before training and then he noticed it continuously climbing his reserves growing even more...

Suddenly his eyes narrowed as his aura hit 100% he felt a significant qualitative change in him but it wasn't all, his attention was drawn to something more dire as he noticed in the sky a torrental flood of darkness was flooding the night sky.

The original dark place around him was now pitch black.

With his sudden ability to see in the dark he was able to deduce what he saw it was a creature with wings shiny red eyes that twinkled in the night in thousands.

"Bats!" He shivered, and an awakened one at that.

"What will the city do about this, he watched as they passed above him."

Huff!.. Jacob sigh in relief, but his expression crumbled as he watched one bat trail off from the horde.

He hid somewhere in the garden as he watched it fly madly down from the sky in his direction.

"O' I forgot bats have use echo to sense it's environment, well I'll have to kill it."

He stretched out his arm as a dark obsidian katana took form on his arm, he watched it form in interest.

He did have the capital to ignore the coming bat, from what he could sense its not that strong.

But his focus came back just as fast as it derailed, he wasn't that stupid: if those blood sucking teeth get a hold of me it's going to get ugly.

He lay down there in the bushes alert as the bat swoop down seeing him as an easy prey.

He easily dodged it as he saw it coming a mile away.

He felt invigorated more than before with his aura at 100%, in steeling him confidence he slashed at it but it sensed the danger and hastly dodged.

Jacob hid again having missed his first shot.

It circled around the periphery of where he is hidden unable to find him easily even with it's sonic echo.

It's eyes reddened, clearly pissed it used it's full powered sonic echo.. 'Screech!!!

At this moment Jacob knew not to underestimate monsters, he wiped his bleeding ears with a cloth with red eyes.

"For making me bleed like this I will kill you. He said resolutely."

He watched as it fly madly like dark thread's above him.

And to maximize everything to kill it he activated two skills.

[Gloom Domain]

[Shadow reach]

He added twenty percent of his aura to his domain skill, an illusory sphere spread out from him, the atmosphere got chilly, the trees swayed in motion clearly affected.

It suddenly swayed in the air having found Jacob the bat senses were suddenly filled with despair from Jacob and and the environment itself, filled with fear it tried to flee..

Jacob dashed at not the bat but it's reflected moving shadow and impaled it with the dark katana, it didn't stop at the ground but as if a space was opened it reached the bat at that split second.

Impaling it in the air, it groaned one last time before swiftly dying, he removed his sword from it as it swiftly fell off to the ground with a 'thud'.

His expression was indifferent as he turned off his abilities.

A smile creep up his face as he mused: being an awaken is good I could have died if I wasn't one.

He looked at his surrounding's as he noticed remains of his aura around the place, as he moved he could feel the trees and grass vibrating, almost as if they were scared.

Wait! Vibrating...

He suddenly remembered, wasn't this one of the gardens of this city Tracendant Veronica.

"He did see her on tv some time ago when she mentioned about how she loved plants and stuff that awakens and above should not mess with her garden as it might retaliate."

Wait... didn't my ability affect living things and inanimate objects to some extent.

The vibration grew stronger.

Shit~Run! He pick up pace and dashed out from his location and a vine emerged from were he stood.

With aura boosting him he was moving faster than ever before just a few meters more, he screamed inside as he ran harder.

Several vines emerged blocking his way out, he didn't slow down one bit and expend more aura again to his legs jumping some meters high.

He didn't have time to marvel at the hight as he employed shadow reach expending more aura and the katana spatially reached them cutting the top and he narrowly jumped through.

As he landed he didn't stop but continued running for his life. Everyone was already out of the garden and he was the only one left.

After some time he paid a taxicab and went home.

Meanwhile...
