In a flashback, the prestigious Caelan Aurelius, scion of one of the most influential noble families, graces the halls of the Vassar estate. Despite the grandeur of the welcome, Caelan wastes no time in addressing Lord Vassar directly.
"Your family's valor in the war against the Elves is widely known," Caelan begins, his voice carrying the weight of expectation. "I've heard rumors of your ownership of Elven slaves. As someone who harbors a deep-seated disdain for their kind, I must request the privilege of witnessing their suffering."
Lord Vassar, maintaining his composure, responds with deference, "Your request shall be honored, my lord. Would you prefer to witness the proceedings here or shall I arrange for your escort to the site?"
Caelan, ever the enigmatic noble, smiles faintly. "I prefer to observe the spectacle in person, if it pleases you."
"Of course, my lord. Guard, ensure our distinguished guest's privacy is respected," Lord Vassar commands, gesturing to his attendants.
Guided by the guards, Caelan traverses the corridors of the estate, his anticipation palpable. Arriving at the designated area where the Elven slaves are held, he awaits the unfolding of the scene with a mix of curiosity and disdain.
Meanwhile, amidst the shadows of the estate, Caelan reveals his true intentions to the captive Elves. With calculated words, he unveils his plan to enlist their aid in overthrowing the Vassar dynasty.
As Caelan proposes his plan, he adds, "Follow my lead, and you'll soon see."
"Why should we believe you?" questions one of the Elves, skepticism tainting his tone.
Caelan, maintaining his cool demeanor, counters, "Because, my dear Elves, you have no alternative. Besides, your keen senses as a should discern the truth from my words."
The Elf scoffs, "we can't "
"Your kind live in deception, particularly you nobles "
Caelan nods in acknowledgment, "Indeed, deception is not uncommon in our circles. However, tread carefully with your accusations, for I hold the power in this exchange."
With a subtle shift in tone, Caelan appeals to their reason, "Cooperation is in your best interest, especially with the unique opportunity I present."
With a gesture, Caelan signals to the guards, "I intend to personally oversee the interrogation of this group, so I shall escort them to the palace's designated chamber for such matters."
*When they arrived *
Turning to the young Elf among them, Caelan asks, "And you, what is your name?"
"Serafina," she responds With fear, but her gaze steady
Caelan nods, committing the name to memory. "Serafina, your innocence shall be our shield. The guards will pay you no mind as we slip away unnoticed, allowing you to conceal yourself within the palace without raising suspicion."
With his plan set in motion, Caelan awaits the Elves' decision, his confidence unwavering in the face of uncertainty.
We return to the present
In a secluded hideout, Fen stood before Serafina, her form limp and half-conscious. Suddenly, Serafina stirs, her eyes fluttering open as she struggles to regain consciousness."I will kill you, Lord Vassar," she murmurs weakly, her voice barely audible.

Kalnir:There are no children in this world. Have you forgotten who planned for all this? Serafina:And what, pray tell, do you presume to know of my desires?
Kalnir: Nothing, yet everything. No child speaks with such intent without a heavy burden shaping their desires.
