Chapter 64 - Chapter 63: Gan’an part 1

*POV Tadano*

I held my head in an effort to calm the migraine that arose from merging with the soul fragments. My mother and the servants next to my... "Father" were visibly concerned about my actions. My father remained as unperturbed as before. After managing to calm down a bit, I looked at my father and then said.

Tadano:"From what I understand, the man who accompanied my mother occasionally was much younger and nothing like an old man like you," I said with a challenging tone.

Gan'an looked at me and snorted with disdain.

Gan'an: "Just a simple errand boy in charge of ensuring your mother's safety and obviously giving her your juicy monthly allowance. Where do you think the money she gives you weekly comes from, or the payment for services, food, her school expenses, or buying the house? Your mother is almost always at home, do you really think a home job or part-time work would pay enough to support them?"

I glanced at my mother; she blushed a bit as she scratched her head, somewhat embarrassed.

Jeanne: "While it's true that I have my emergency savings, which I can use to support them for a few years, Gan-Kun has helped me with the heavier expenses, something for which I am deeply grateful," my mother said as she gave Gan'an a gentle look.

Gan'an: "O-Of course, as I, the great Shinomiya Gan'an, would never let my wife suffer," Gan'an snorted with self-satisfaction, although with my enhanced vision, I could see a slight blush on his cheeks. This gave me a somewhat uncomfortable feeling.

Shinomiya: "Ignore this feeling; it's common to feel weird in the face of affection between your parents."

Tomoya: "I wonder if Ushio felt the same?"

Nagisa: "I found it quite lovely."

Tadano: "..."

Shinomiya: "Get used to it; our new guests will accompany you from now on."

*Sigh*

Tadano: "Whatever..."

Tadano: "So what do you expect from me? I don't think bringing me here is just out of concern... if it were just that, with your family's great influence, it would be easy to transfer me to the best hospital in the country," I said speculatively.

Jeanne: "Hito-Chan! You shouldn't speak to your father like that..." my mother complained.

Gan'an: "HAHAHA! Good! Good assumption worthy of having my blood... it's correct that I didn't bring you here out of the kindness of my heart. Now then, Hitohito; I want you to become my perfect heir. Someone worthy of taking the Shinomiya group to the top. And with enough cold-bloodedness to do whatever is necessary to rise to the top... unlike the trash that are your older brothers," the man said with a contemptuous tone when talking about his other sons.

My mother went blank upon hearing the words "perfect heir."

Tadano: "Oh, so are my older brothers not good enough? Aren't all the children of the main Shinomiya household groomed from a young age to be the pinnacle of the human race?" I asked curiously.

Gan'an snorted in annoyance and said in an irritated tone.

Gan'an: "Those trash! I wasted my time and money on them. Oko is an arrogant coward hungry for power; he's capable of trying to sell parts of the group just to gain supporters to become the group's leader. Seiryū is just a lapdog to his older brother, with basic and predictable thoughts, a complete disappointment. Un'yo , who seemed the most worthy, also ended up being a disappointment; he lacks care and acts recklessly in the face of provocations, causing great losses to the group on more than one occasion. The last three were just tools for business alliances, and since they have joined or will join another family, they are not worthy of leading the group," the man said with evident disdain towards his sons.

Ignoring his attitude, I said.

Tadano: "I recall you have one last daughter from your love affair with a woman from the red-light district. Her name is Kaguya, right? According to rumors, she possesses a diverse set of skills and abilities, with a straight character and a cold, calculating personality like One'yo's. A worthy heiress in my opinion," I said casually.

I could see his face change from arrogant to vigilant in record time. It was somewhat amusing.

Gan'an: "How do you know that? Not even your mother knows all the details," the man said with a dangerous tone.

Tadano: "I have my methods... more importantly, why don't you answer my question?" I said, glancing around.

Gan'an: "Oh? So young and already keeping secrets from your father. And you dare to defy me on my territory. Very bold of you," the man said as he regained his confidence and put on his arrogant expression again.

Tadano: "Although I can't be sure I'll make it out alive. I can be very sure of taking you with me if necessary," I said in a dangerous tone.

Gan'an: "Oh, I'd like to see you try. This is my..." he tried to speak until he felt an iron grip tightening around his throat.

Tadano: "Your what?" I said mockingly.

Everyone seemed bewildered for a moment, but both servants who accompanied my father quickly sprang into action and lunged at me. Taking advantage of my still active ability [Sprinter – Intermediate], I quickly dodged them with Gan'an still in my grasp.

Tadano: "Tsk... Tsk... Tsk... you can be as arrogant as you want in front of others. But in front of me, you're nothing but a nuisance."

Gan'an smiled. Then a dozen guards hurried to enter through the door.

Gan'an: "And now what, brat?" he said with some difficulty while showing me an arrogant smile. I looked at him and returned the smile, saying.

Tadano: "It's easy... You lot there... GET OUT!" I said while using my [Singing – Master] ability. The guards' eyes clouded over, and they quickly left the room. Gan'an was stunned. His servants were also stunned.

Tadano: "Don't play games with me, old man. Tell me your true objective. I don't believe I'm the brightest star in the sky for you to choose me over your other sons. Speak if you don't want to kick the bucket. Here and now," I said as I exerted some force in my hand.

Shinomiya: "A firm and decisive attitude, I'm somewhat proud, although it's somewhat hasty, but it's progress from your usual stupid self."

Nagisa: "AH... UM... Tomoya-Kun, shouldn't we stop him? He's his father after all..." she said nervously.

Tomoya: "Although I understand your words, at the moment, we're just part of his consciousness; I don't think we can influence him that much. Besides, our intervention isn't so necessary..." he said mysteriously.

Before I could ask what he meant, I felt a dull pain on my cheek.

Consternated, I put my hand on my cheek and looked at my attacker.

It was none other than my mother. She had tears in her eyes and an expression full of sadness. I don't know why, but the feeling of guilt invaded my being.

Shinomiya: "Sigh if you can't control your weakness for a woman's tears, we'll very soon find our end in the arms of one."

Tomoya: "That must have hurt..." he added.

Nagisa: "Uf... that was close... Good job, Jeanne-San!" she said cheerfully. Setting aside the trio in my head, I focused my gaze on my mother.

Jeanne: "Don't behave like this, Tadano Hitohito. I didn't raise someone so heartless as to cold-bloodedly kill his own father. Now release him this instant."

I wanted to retort, but I couldn't.
