[Naesala POV]
"MOVE, SOLDIER! YOU ARE NOT HERE TO LAZE AROUND, YOU'RE HERE TO TRAIN TO PROTECT YOUR BRETHREN!"
While I was 'motivating' the knight's apprentice as usual, one of the knights came to my side and whispered something in my ear.
"General, the prince is here. He is requesting an audience with you."
I waved my hand at him and, after warning the apprentice knights not to slack off, I looked at the child standing against the training ground's walls.
He had black hair and red eyes. I was able to recognize that he was the prince right away since he is the only elf that has black hair and red eyes in the entire kingdom.
'Sigh, if it's not enough that I'm training young elves, now I have to deal with a child who does nothing but sit on his mother's lap.'
"Well, well, if it isn't the little prince. What are you doing here,'my prince'? Did you come here to play with swords?"
I decided to mock him a little to see if he's a spoiled brat. If he sees me as not showing respect and not bowing to his authority, maybe he'll leave. I already am dealing with so many things; I'm not going to babysit a child.
"I'm here to learn swordsmanship from you, General, for you are the most powerful knight in the kingdom."
'Hoooo, look at this little brat. It looks like he is not spoiled as much as I thought since his face didn't change or throw tantrums when I mocked him. Now he says he wants to learn from me. He's really brave, but that's not enough for me to accept his request. I don't have time to entertain a child.'
"Listen, mommy's boy, being a knight is nothing like sitting on your mother's lap. I can't have you interrupting my knight's training. Elven knights hold the most important position in the kingdom. Every single soldier here trains to protect the kingdom with their lives."
I continued to mock him and even bluntly disrespected him, explaining the importance of the knights, so he'd give up training here and waste my time.
But even after everything I said, he showed no emotion and continued to pursue me to train him.
"I'm well aware of what knights mean to the kingdom, General. I'm not here to delay or interfere with their training, but to prepare for the future. I'm not here to train because I want to, but because I must train."
He's a stubborn one, so I decided to pressure him both physically and mentally to make him give up.
I stood behind him, put my hands on his shoulders and tried to intimidate him with my words.
"Knights train every day when the sun first shines on the realm until the moon takes its place. They train in scorching heat, heavy rain and freezing cold. Being a knight requires discipline, patience, willpower and an unbreakable body. You must be prepared to be killed or kill without hesitation to save the lives of our brethren. Do you have what it takes to be a knight, young prince? Can you give your life for one of ours without hesitation?"
With each sentence, I increased the strength of my hand, but not too much, because even though I was annoyed, I'm not going to break a child's body.
But he surprised me, because when I tried to intimidate him with my words, he didn't show any emotion. And when I put pressure on his shoulder, his body remained steady. That made me curious.
"Test me, General. See for yourself if I'm fit to be a knight."
When I asked him if he had what it takes, he asked me to test him. This child is getting interesting.
I called one of the knights to spar with him. When the knight arrived, he first called my title, then his title, which showed that the knight was loyal to me first, then to the royal family.
I glanced at the prince to see his reaction, but like the first time I met him, he showed no emotion this time either.
While the prince and the knight were moving towards one of the mini arenas to spar, the apprentice knights stopped what they were doing and circled around to watch them.
That annoyed me a little seeing how they stop their training like I'm not even here, so I grabbed the knight who was sparring with the prince by the neck and ordered him not to hold back.
I signaled them to start. The knight immediately attacked the prince with a wooden sword, but the prince defended himself by raising his arm and blocking the wooden sword with his forearm.
What surprised me more was not his reaction speed against someone stronger and more experienced than him, but his durability. After taking the knight by surprise, the prince knocked him out with a single hit.
This strength and durability at such a young age is unnatural. It made me a little excited and I began to think that he might be the one I've been waiting for the last five centuries - someone truly worthy of me.
Even after he forced his way into my bed, only to be dragged out by the queen, he arrived at the knights' camp on time the next day, showing me that he is serious about being a knight.
I wanted to test him one last time to see if he was truly exceptional or if what happened yesterday was just a one-time thing.
"Like always, you will start running around the camp to warm up your bodies before moving on to sword practice. But while running,if the prince can't keep up as you run, you leave him behind and keep running until only one of you is left standing at the end. As a reward, the one who is standing will replace the prince and be trained by me instead of the prince."
So I had him do the most basic warm-up running something knights do every day, but with a little twist. If he were to lose, I would not train him.
Of course, I was sure that Prince would win no matter what. I just did it to get Prince and the knights to give their all. But even if Prince didn't win, I would train him since I had already given my word yesterday that I would train him.
I can feel the power inside his body, it's like a raging storm that would destroy everything in its path. But he couldn't use his power to its full extent since he was too young. His body is the only thing holding him back from becoming stronger.
After half an hour, Prince stood in front of me with his boots destroyed, but he didn't look tired. His breathing was steady, as if he had never run but just stood there the whole time.
'Good, he did not disappoint me.'He overpowered the knights by running at full speed for half an hour without slowing down,as I watched the knights lying on the ground, trying to catch their breath.
I got annoyed again. I knew they were going to lose, but to think that they would lose in such an overwhelming way was a huge disappointment.
After telling the knights to train without me, I nodded to the prince, signaling for him to follow me.
After taking him to my garden, which is also my private training ground, I told him to choose one of the weapons to begin our training.
He went to the weapons and tested them all while I waited for him to choose one. However, he told me in his emotionless voice that he wanted to learn them all, which got on my nerves.
'This spoiled brat keeps challenging me,' I thought to myself and tried to explain to him that choosing to learn multiple weapons would hinder his training. But he refused to listen to me, which made me angry.
It looks like I'll have to teach him a lesson to get his head straight, or he'll think that just because I agreed to train him, I'm now his servant.
I moved towards the prince and punched him in the face with 10% of my strength because I know he can take my punch since I can sense that he is strong.
After I punched the prince, force from my punch sent him against the wall, and I realized that I let my anger affect my actions.
It looks like I used more force than I had intended. But after hitting the wall, the prince just stood up, shook his head and rushed towards me with a wide grin on his face.
'Hmmmm... Look at him shrugging off a punch that could kill an elder boar like it's nothing... He has so much power at such a young age, his potential is limitless, and I will do everything I can to maximize that potential and make him the most powerful being in the realm...maybe Maybe he is the one I have been waiting for the last five hundred years, the one who will dominate the realm... My other half, my perfect mate, my husband'
I looked at the prince, who is rushing towards me with a wide grin. I opened my arms and welcomed him with a smile of my own.
