Chereads / ADVENTURE OF A YOUNG UCHIHA / Chapter 9 - Recalling Memories

Chapter 9 - Recalling Memories

"Die, you wretch." I thrust the kunai into the neck of my last enemy, and he finally fell, dead. I sat, gasping for breath, having just finished a grueling battle against two jonin and six chunin from the Village of Rain. It was the day I lost all my comrades on our return from the mission.

As I caught my breath, I heard a voice behind me, "You damn Uchiha, hand over the heads of those ninja. We were the ones chasing them." I slowly lifted my head to find three members of the Hyuga clan, two from the branch family following someone from the main family. I looked at them with eyes full of anger and said, "And where were you when they tried to kill me? Are you kidding me? Go ahead, kill those bastards yourselves!"

Their leader replied coldly, "We were following them quietly, but you got ahead of us. I don't care how you killed them, but you need to hand over those ninja heads."

I remembered feeling during the fight that someone was watching me. It seemed these bastards were waiting for me to die or finish the mission to take advantage. Even though I wanted to kill them immediately, I didn't have the strength to confront them directly. So, I said calmly, "Take the heads. I don't care."

Two of them came down to collect the bodies in storage scrolls, then I heard their leader say mockingly, "Is this the strongest clan in Konoha after the Senju? They seem very weak."

I looked at him with quiet anger, stood up suddenly, and threw two kunai with explosive tags at his companions. In an instant, they were killed. Despite possessing the Byakugan, they couldn't survive the sudden and close-range attack.

The leader shouted in fury, "You damn fool, what are you doing? Killing your fellow villagers? When I return, I will ask the Hokage to punish you."

I looked at him calmly, stretched out my hand, and said, "You said when I return, but perhaps you won't return."

His eyes widened in terror as he saw my Sharingan had evolved into three tomoe. He said in panic, "Uchiha Enlil, when did you develop the three tomoe?"

I smirked and said, "Not long ago. Would you like to test which eye is stronger?"

He yelled in anger, "I won't be afraid of you! I'll kill you, you damn fool!"

After an hour of intense fighting, I succeeded in defeating him and tied him to a tree. Despite my victory, I had many wounds, as I had fought many battles without resting. The reason I didn't kill him was that I admired his skills and wanted to learn them, even though some techniques required the Byakugan. It was a rare opportunity to obtain the Byakugan and the techniques of the main family.

After a few hours of rest and treating my wounds, I woke him up and asked him to write down the techniques of his clan. He refused, of course, despite the torture. His will was strong, so I used the Sharingan to hypnotize him and force him to write the techniques. Controlling him was extremely difficult, and if it weren't for his physical and mental exhaustion, I wouldn't have succeeded.

I obtained the skills I needed, along with storing the eyes. Now, I must be careful not to use those skills in front of others except as a secret trick, or I could face investigation and possibly death.

Present Day

After completing my tasks, I went to the Yi family's house. In the hall where we spoke yesterday, I saw Lady Yi accompanied by a young girl, probably around my age. When they saw me, they bowed and said in unison, "Welcome, young master."

I said, "Stop. There's no need to bow, and from your appearance, it seems you've agreed to my request. Rest assured, you won't regret it." After that, I helped them up and looked at the girl with curiosity.

I asked her name, even though I already knew it: "Yi Lingling, young master."

I smiled and said, "A beautiful name and an even more beautiful face."

Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment when she heard my words.

Lady Yi said calmly, "Young master, please don't tease her."

I replied with a smile, "Don't worry, it's just a compliment. Now that it's settled, please, these books contain the recorded techniques. You can rest assured that I'm the only one who knows these techniques, and you can make them a legacy of the Yi family."

She looked at me curiously and asked, "Young master, do you mean you found this technique in ancient ruins, or did you create it?"

I laughed and answered, "What are you talking about? Of course, I created it. Thanks to my eyes, I can easily derive skills, and I manifested them with my martial spirit."

She looked at me in amazement and said to herself, "It seems I made the right decision."

She continued, "Now you can practice this technique, and I'll stay here for a week in case you need to ask me anything. As for the family I wish to establish, the time hasn't come yet, and you can act as if nothing happened and not tell anyone about it."

I said, "Mm, by the way, I heard you know someone called 'Dugu Bo.'"

She replied, "Yes, young master. We've known him for a long time, and sometimes we study herbs together. He became a Dugu not long ago."

I said, "There's something I want from him. Do you know something he needs that I can exchange for it?"

She thought for a moment and then said, "I don't think there's anything he's lacking. He has money, and if he wanted, he could achieve a high status in the empire."

I said, "Mm, think again, a person always needs something."

She replied after thinking, "I don't think he needs anything… Ah, I remembered. His son and daughter-in-law died a few years ago, leaving behind a granddaughter. The problem is that his son and daughter-in-law died from poison, and his granddaughter might have the same poison. He came to me for treatment, but my martial spirit didn't work on it. Perhaps if you succeed in curing her, he will agree."

I said, "Is there something like that? No problem. I know some medical skills. You can talk to him to come in a week from now. During this week, I want to borrow some medical books. You can give me the common ones. If there are secret family ones, there's no need."

Lady Yi replied kindly, "No, young master, you can read all the techniques. We trust you."

I said, "Alright, thank you. I'll remember this in return."

She said, "Thank you."

Although she agreed easily, I knew that giving up the family's secret techniques wasn't a simple matter. I'll give her something better later after I think of something appropriate."

She then led me to a room surrounded by many guards, filled with numerous books.

A Week Later

I was sitting and reading the books. Only two books remained, and in this week, I had successfully read all the books thanks to my eyes, which could memorize everything. I would need some time to digest all this knowledge.

The door opened quietly, and I saw the young girl, Lingling. She looked at me and said, "Young master, my aunt says that 'Dugu Bo' has arrived at the house, and they are waiting for you. I came to inform you."

I thought it seemed that the time had come. This week, I have read all the medical books; even though I know that they will not help in treating him, they may come up with an idea or simply help me convince him, and more knowledge will not harm anyone.
