...
Lu Yu's actions are unquestionably assertive. In just two days, Yan Yun has transitioned from being a single girl to becoming Lu Yu's partner.
Her alluring beauty, slender legs, and flawless physique, which are the epitome of every man's fantasy, are now exclusively for Lu Yu.
Lu Yu comprehends that in these apocalyptic times, having a beautiful woman as a companion can be a curse.
The only method to safeguard such a woman from being seized by others is to persistently enhance one's strength. This isn't an expression of love, but rather a straightforward demonstration of male dominance.
One of them inquired, "Has anyone noticed the quantity of food in their room?"
The responses were affirmative. Zhou Changming, also known as Zhou Lao, was a member of a tour group from a different city.
They were merely transiting through Yancheng, with plans to depart the following morning.
However, they awoke to a world that had undergone a drastic transformation. The tour group, primarily composed of elderly individuals, had been reduced to a dozen after an attack.
Unfamiliar with their surroundings and lacking combat skills, they sought assistance. They attempted to join Lu Yu, given his evident strength, but were rejected.
This rejection ignited anger among them, particularly Zhou who had previously made strong statements.
They grumbled about the scarcity of food in the hotel restaurant, accusing Lu Yu and his group of hoarding it. They were outraged at the audacity of the young people.
Despite their hunger and the abundance of food in Lu Yu's room, they were denied access.
They decided to bring this issue to Captain Liao and Manager Zhao. However, upon learning that Lu Yu had thrown two people downstairs, they were too intimidated to confront him.
Lu Yu was the strongest in the hotel and he had demonstrated his willingness to kill. They had no choice but to avoid provoking him.
As the second night of the apocalypse descended, most humans spent it in fear. Outside, giant bats were attacking a high-rise building. The survivors inside were terrified. These bats had appeared on the first night, but not many humans were aware of them.
That night, they began their hunt. The survivors didn't understand why these bats, which should hunt using sonic flight, were crashing into the glass and invading their homes.
This was contrary to their understanding of bats.
That night, several human homes were breached by these giant bats. Many survivors met a tragic end at the hands of these vampire bats.
As the sun rose on the third day of the apocalypse, Lu Yu's team began to get organized. He first removed Shi Lei from Wu Qiang's team and assigned him to make guards with Xiao hao and a few women to prevent zombie bites.
Wu Qiang led a team to find a water source, while Lu Yu took Yan Yun, one of the two bodyguards, and two pets to find Wei Jianjun.
....
On the seventh day of the apocalypse, Wu Qiang and Shi Lei returned to Lu Yu's team. That morning, on the playground at the back door of Yancheng University, countless black beetles the size of a well were using their large jaws like pincers to bite the rotting lizardmen corpses.
These beetles, known as Corpse Beetles, were large and powerful.
They lived in groups and were highly defensive. The only good news was that they only ate corpses and only attacked living humans when they were extremely hungry.
In the girls' dormitory at the back of the school, Qiao Manli, who was weak and disheveled, was calling for help. She was starving. She regretted returning to school instead of staying in a hotel with Lu Yu and being protected by bodyguards.
Now, she was trapped in the dormitory with these mad women. Another girl, Xu Fei, told her to stop screaming.
No one was coming to save them. The monsters outside were terrifying and everyone was struggling to protect themselves. Qiao Manli was even more desperate. She wondered if Lu Yu had known something in advance.
She had thought about this question countless times in the past few days, but she still couldn't understand it. Xu Fei then asked her a question she had been wanting to ask: "You didn't come back that night on the 19th.
Did you go to the hotel with Lu Shao?"
Yancheng University, a significant institution during the city's developmental phase, was constructed on a mountain.
Although the university is now within the city's boundaries, the internal road network remains complex and winding.
The dormitory building, home to Qiao Manli and her roommates, is situated on the left side of the mountain's peak.
A broad avenue lies outside their bedroom, with roads leading down the mountain on both sides. Despite the abundance of greenery lining these roads, the mutated trees significantly obstruct the view.
However, they can still glimpse parts of the foothills on both sides.
The dormitory houses four girls, including Qiao Manli. The other three girls were invited to dinner by Lu Yu before the apocalypse. They didn't wake up for self-study in the morning as they were "drunk" .
When Qiao Manli returned in the morning, she stayed in the dormitory and chatted with them.
As they were engrossed in their conversation, the apocalypse arrived.
At this critical moment, when Xu Fei posed a question, they all listened attentively. It seemed that even the prospect of death couldn't quell their curiosity. Qiao Manli, finding their interest amusing, responded to their queries.
She revealed that it was Yan Yun who wanted to sleep with Young Master Lu, not her.
The girls were surprised to learn about Yan Yun. They acknowledged that while Qiao Manli was no less attractive than Yan Yun, she already had a boyfriend, Chu Feng. They dismissed Chu Feng as a "diaosi" (loser), unworthy of Qiao Manli.
They believed that Qiao Manli was merely using Chu Feng as a backup option.
Despite the grim circumstances they found themselves in, they continued to engage in conversation, seemingly as a means to divert their attention from the looming threat of death. Xu Fei, positioned near the window, noticed an individual outside.
The girls swiftly congregated around the window for a better view. They observed a young man, armed with a fire ax, battling monsters alongside four other individuals.
They identified the young man as Chu Feng, who was known to be in a relationship with Qiao Manli.
They also spotted another group composed of eight individuals, six men and two women, who appeared to be quite formidable. Recognizing the potential for rescue, they prepared to signal for help.
They inscribed SOS on a white dress using a marker and hung it out the window using a clothesline. However, they were uncertain about which group to signal for assistance.
Ultimately, they chose to signal Chu Feng's group, given their proximity and Chu Feng's relationship with Qiao Manli.
As they observed Chu Feng skillfully fend off the monsters, they were pleasantly surprised. They no longer held any prejudices about Chu Feng's status as a "diaosi" or a spare tire.
Their primary concern was survival, and nothing else mattered.
Qiao Manli also hoped for Chu Feng's safe arrival. However, she found Chu Feng's heroic demeanor unfamiliar, leading her to question if he was indeed her "diaosi" boyfriend.
The main entrance of the school is located to the left.
Chu Feng's team, comprising five members, did not immediately notice the distress signal originating from Qiao Manli's dormitory. They were currently taking a brief break behind a fence after a monster hunt.
Each member was equipped with weapons and carried a mountaineering bag. The team included Dai Lian, known for her poisonous abilities, and three other boys.
These individuals had demonstrated courage and strength, having been rescued by Chu Feng during a monster hunt.
Chu Feng, despite being the protagonist of the rebirth, was fully aware of the treacherous nature of the apocalypse. However, he also understood that it was the early days of the apocalypse and human nature was not as fragile as one might think.
With Dai Lian's presence, he was keen to form his own team early on to combat the impending Doomsday and the scoundrel Lu Yu.
One of the boys, Wang Chao, who was wielding a spatula, noticed Chu Feng's rapidly healing injuries. Wang Chao, a classmate of both Lu Yu and Chu Feng, was surprised at the quick recovery of Chu Feng's wounds, which he had sustained in the secret realm at the hands of Lu Yu.
The shoulder wound was healing well, but the injury to the lower abdomen was more severe and would typically require extensive medical treatment. However, Chu Feng's injuries were healing at an astonishing rate.
By the seventh day of the apocalypse, the wound on Chu Feng's shoulder had already scarred over and the abdominal injury no longer hindered his movements.
Chu Feng, gripping his fire ax, explained that the resilience of the Awakened would be enhanced to varying degrees after the appearance of these monsters.
He claimed that his resilience was simply stronger than that of ordinary Awakened individuals.
When asked about the identity of the person who had inflicted such injuries on him, Chu Feng revealed a trace of hatred in his eyes and named Lu Yu as the culprit.
Dai Lian, who had been with Chu Feng for several days, naturally sided with him and confirmed that Lu Yu had injured Chu Feng in an attempt to steal treasures.
She then proceeded to recount Lu Yu's previous misdeeds in the secret realm.
The revelation that Lu Yu, despite possessing powerful abilities, had attacked his classmates instead of helping them save people, was met with disbelief and indignation.
After the discussion, the team decided to replenish their strength by eating something. They had just noticed a call for help from the girls' dormitory.
The location of the distress signal appeared to be coming from the bedroom of Qiao Manli, who was well-known among the boys at the school.
Hearing her name, Chu Feng's eyes turned cold and a murderous intent quickly filled his heart. He was well aware of who the 'girlfriend' referred to in the other party's mouth was.
Qiao Manli had betrayed him at a critical moment in the past, despite his kindness towards her.
Chu Feng vowed to make her pay for playing with his feelings in this life.
Meanwhile, at the back entrance of the school, Lu Yu was engaged in a battle with a corpse beetle. He managed to slice the beetle in half with his sword, causing a pungent stench to fill the air and attract more beetles.
Lu Yu quickly led the group away from the beetle's corpse and deeper into the school.
Despite the danger posed by the corpse beetles, they were not a significant threat to humans due to their slow speed and low aggression.
However, they could become more terrifying than lions and tigers before the end of the world if they formed a scale.

Yan Yun, who had warmed up to Lu Yu after the baptism of the last days and his help, noticed that the school seemed to have been cleared of monsters. She was a Black Iron Intermediate level Awakened with a healing power.
Her vitality was 26, mental power was 28, strength was 8, and agility was 9. She was on the verge of advancing to the next level.
Powers could be improved indefinitely through daily use or special training methods, but ordinary power users often encountered bottlenecks during the promotion process.
Therefore, the crystal core of the same attribute was essential for an ability user who wanted to become stronger.
Wei Jianjun, a strong teammate of Chu Feng in his previous life and a capable general of Chu Feng in this life, had joined Lu Yu. He had been found by Lu Yu the previous afternoon while heading towards the hotel where Lu Yu was staying.
Wei Jianjun had taken Lu Yu's money but had not done anything for him. His conscience was a little uneasy.
Although the end of the world had come and the money was useless, he had enjoyed the few days before the end of the world and remembered this kindness in his heart.
Knowing where Lu Yu was and ensuring the safety of his wife and daughter, he had tried every means to come to the hotel to rescue Lu Yu.
His betrayal rate was 29%, which was the betrayal rate when Lu Yu first saw him. Lu Yu didn't expect that he only spent 100,000 Yuan, and this guy was so loyal to him.
Lu Yu revealed that their mission at the school that day was a rescue operation.
He then looked at a dormitory building not far away, blocked by trees, and wondered where Chu Feng might be now.
