In the event of an apocalypse, certain individuals will discover they possess unique abilities. These abilities typically become apparent and are utilized by the individual shortly after the cosmic storm passes.
This was the case for individuals like Lu Yu and Chen Fei. However, some individuals are exceptions to this pattern. These individuals possess a unique type of awakening ability that requires specific environmental conditions to activate.
As a result, it's often challenging for them to detect their abilities immediately after awakening.
This is why Lu Yu inquired about this to his team. If another member of their team were to awaken an ability, it would significantly enhance the team's overall combat effectiveness.
However, reality served as a harsh reminder to Lu Yu that ideals often fall short in the face of reality. Abilities are a rarity, even among those who have awakened.
In their team of six, aside from Xue Li and Ding Feng who appeared to have grown stronger, no one else seemed to have changed.
Lu Yu was confident that Yan Yun, being the heroine, must possess special abilities. However, his villainous perspective could only discern basic human information such as height and weight, and at most, a betrayal rate.
He was unable to determine if others possessed abilities.
As a result, Yan Yun couldn't perceive any changes within her, and Lu Yu couldn't ascertain what her abilities were.
Shi Lei and He Li expressed their feelings of uselessness, to which Lu Yu casually comforted them, suggesting that they could still serve in logistics if they couldn't be fighters.
When Xue Li asked if he and Ding Feng could participate in the operation, Lu Yu denied it but allowed Ding Feng to accompany him.
He instructed Xue Li, Shi Lei, and He Li to stay behind and guard their supplies on the floor, citing potential problems if left unattended.
Lu Yu then proposed a plan based on the fact that many survivors on their floor probably hadn't eaten breakfast.
He suggested that these hungry individuals would inevitably seek food, and given the location of the secret realm entrance, others might discover it. Therefore, it would be appropriate to let these people take the lead.
Upon hearing Lu Yu's plan, the team was stunned. The idea of waiting for others to risk their lives to find the way was shocking. After Lu Yu explained, Xue Li and Ding Feng, being professional bodyguards, did not comment.
Their mission was to protect Lu Yu, and the lives of others were irrelevant to them.
Shi Lei and He Li, however, felt a bit uncertain. As Lu Yu's subordinates, they were concerned about his ruthless approach.
Yan Yun, despite having been enlightened after a previous incident, still felt uncomfortable seeing others risk their lives. She questioned whether their actions were somewhat wrong.
Lu Yu, however, defended his stance. He argued that he had gathered their supplies with great difficulty and was unwilling to share them with strangers. He emphasized the need to live for themselves and stated that the lives of others were not his concern.
He acknowledged that others might perceive him as vicious and selfish, but he accepted this as part of his character.
Lu Yu openly admitted his self-centeredness, which led everyone to collectively ponder. Surprisingly, after this reflection, no one voiced any objections. In fact, it alleviated many people's worries. Shi Lei, a man who usually didn't express his opinions, found Lu Yu's words reasonable upon hearing them.
In such an apocalyptic environment, who has the luxury of caring for others?
When people are hungry, they should seek food.
If Lu Yu hadn't prepared food in advance, they would have less chances of survival and stay alive?
So why should they feel guilty?
"I believe Lu Shao is correct. It's better not to meddle in the actions of people these days," Xue Li contemplated for a moment and agreed with Lu Yu's statement.
"In normal times, helping a person might lead to trouble, let alone in this time of end world?"
"Exactly!"
Ding Feng grinned, "They need to find food when they're hungry, and we didn't force them at gunpoint."
Hearing everyone's consensus, Yan Yun fell silent. Indeed, in this end world where everyone is at risk, it's easy to do harm with good intentions, just like she did before. She let those guys in and almost got Lu Yu killed. With this realization, Yan Yun ceased to argue.
"Boss…what if someone wants to join us?"
Shi Lei suddenly posed a question that wasn't really a problem.
"Join us?
That's a great idea!"
Lu Yu smiled, "If the other party is very capable…with my consent, they can join directly."
"I see… I see!"
"I understand!"
"As long as you know!"
Lu Yu nodded slightly, and suddenly thought of something: "By the way, a team needs a leader. For the convenience of future actions and commands, all of you listen to me, this should be no problem?"
"No problem at all!"
"I have no opinion!"
Shi Lei was originally Lu Yu's Sidekick, so of course, he wouldn't mind. Xue Li and Ding Feng are Lu Yu's subordinates, so naturally, they won't say anything! Yan Yun was like a little girl in front of Lu Yu, and there was no way she could object.
As for He Li?
She doesn't even have the right to speak.
"That's good!"
Seeing everyone's expressions, Lu Yu nodded slightly: "Next, I will arrange each of your tasks in detail!"
It have to be said, Lu Yu is a real villain. Not only does he have to deal with those evil monsters, but he also has to watch out for those survivors who harbor malicious intentions. He even has to quickly increase his strength to prevent himself from being killed by the protagonist.
So when his own strength is not strong enough, Lu Yu feels that it is necessary to form a team!
He don't know if it's because the second-generation rich villain comes with a halo of leadership!
After Lu Yu's remarks just now, everyone had cleared up a lot of doubts. At least on the surface, their betrayal rates didn't fluctuate much.
Even the most simple Yan Yun, under the influence of everyone, accepted this cruel reality!
After a long conversation just now! Lu Yu temporarily stabilized the military and strengthened the cohesion of the team. And in a room on the right side of the hotel, their situation was similar to what Lu Yu had guessed. People are talking about finding food.
The rooms of the Rhine Hotel are based on the elevator as the center line, and there are rooms on the left and right sides. Lu Yu is on the left and most of the others are on the right. And this room is the room of Liu Jian, the bath towel man Lu Yu met before.
After Lu Yu helped him deal with the monster, he randomly found a room without monsters and hid in it. The survivor then went upstairs and threatened him to open the door.
In this room, a group of eight or nine individuals had convened. They were grappling with the reality of their situation, expressing concerns about their families and the growing hunger they were experiencing.
The sudden appearance of the monsters had left them unprepared and without food. They realized that they needed to address their hunger first, as their weakening bodies would make it easier for them to be trapped.
One of them suggested a plan. He had observed a few people moving from one room to another, implying that the corridor was safe. He proposed that they should gather everyone and form a team to fight their way downstairs.
However, the idea was met with skepticism due to the number of monsters present. A man pointed out the well-fed monsters resting in the shadows, expressing his disbelief at the plan.
The situation worsened when they discovered that there was no water. Liu Jian, who had gone to check the faucet, found that it only dripped a couple of drops before stopping completely.
This revelation underscored the severity of their predicament. All their electrical equipment had lost power, leaving them unable to send out a distress signal. They realized that the cosmic storm had damaged all electrical equipment on Earth, rendering the water plant's power supply equipment useless.
Without an electric pressure pump, water couldn't be delivered far from the source.
Despite the dire circumstances, they agreed on one thing: they needed to find food. They began searching for weapons, ready to fight back against the monsters.
Even though guns were banned in the Xia Kingdom, they improvised, using items like melons, bowls, pans, and wooden table legs as weapons. They believed that as long as the number of monsters was small, they could handle it.
Under their collective action, all the survivors on the 8th floor gathered in the corridor. There were visually 60 or 70 people, creating an overwhelming sight.
Among the survivors, the leader was Liao Dong, the captain of the hotel's security. He was physically strong and had practical abilities. Manager Zhao, who had been beaten by Lu Yu, was conversing with him.
Manager Zhao suggested investigating the clothing store across the street. Liao Dong expressed his willingness but doubted the feasibility of the plan given the condition of the survivors.
Manager Zhao acknowledged the difficulty but proposed a solution finding someone to cooperate with. When asked who he had in mind, he mentioned Lu Yu.
