Cui Yanshu finished his ginger soup and listened to the Steward recount the actions of Yan Qing since arriving in Caojun. After resting for a while, he then picked up his umbrella and headed for the study.

When he reached the study and saw Ling Hua, she was still in the same clothes, obviously not having gone back to change. She had come to wait in the study after he left, appearing languid and boneless as she leaned against the back of the chair, delicately holding a bowl of ginger soup, a humorous glint in her eyes. She was chatting with Lin Feiyuan and Sun Mingyu, and it seemed as if what he had seen earlier was but a dream, or perhaps he had been mistaken.
Cui Yanshu paused at the doorway, a bit caught in a self-reflective doubt, as if he had a mistaken perception of his own vision.
