Zhu Lan saw her dear grandfather and let out a cheer, running up to give Headman Zhu a bear hug.
Fortunately, Headman Zhu had a solid stance, or else Zhu Lan's collision would have sent him sprawling. Still, it hit him hard enough to make him cry out in surprise, "You little imp, my old bones can't stand such crashes!"
Zhu Lan quickly let go of Headman Zhu, checking to see if he was hurt. Seeing that he was fine, her face lit up again, "Grandpa, I'm just so happy to see you."
Headman Zhu smiled and patted her head, appraising her thoughtfully, "Hmm, you've gained weight."
She looked lively inded. It seemed Zhu Guang was right; Ling Hua must not have been harsh with her, and the food at the Governor's Office must be excellent.
Zhu Lan also examined Headman Zhu and said with concern, "Grandpa, you've lost weight."
Then she turned to look at Headman Cheng, her eyes widening in shock, "Headman Cheng, Grandpa, how did you lose so much weight?"
