After dinner, Ling Hua had Liuli carry a lamp as they went to Yan Qing's study.
Her feet trod the path with little strength, each step slow and laborious. When she reached the courtyard gate, she leaned wearily against the outside wall and said to Liuli, "I can't walk any further."
"Shall I carry you?" Liuli asked.
Ling Hua inquired, "Is his study far from here?"
"Not close."
Ling Hua shook her head, "Never mind, I won't go see him today."
In her current state, if she were to see him, he likely wouldn't have taken kindly to her. Better to rest properly for a couple of days.
Liuli nodded, feeling that Ling Hua indeed needed to rest and should not overexert herself. So, she helped her back to her room.
