Director Chen hurriedly greeted, "Mr. Ji, hello, just call me Xiaochen."
"Hello," Ji Heng nodded, probably Bai Lian's friend, and said while holding an empty cigarette holder, "Xiaochen."
Director Chen chuckled and passed Ji Heng a pouch of tobacco, "Give mine a try."
Ji Heng looked at Bai Lian.
Bai Lian lifted her head and said wordlessly, "Go ahead, take it."
"Thank you." Ji Heng's face softened considerably toward Director Chen.
Director Chen's eyes lit up; he stood in place, watching Bai Lian and Ji Heng leave.
Rubbing his hands, he began to take out his phone to find some tobacco for himself.
**
This was Ji Heng's first time attending a parent-teacher meeting. He had deliberately worn the robe from last time, his entire presence exuding scholarly elegance and authority as he sat in Bai Lian's place.
Feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"Do I look alright?" Ji Heng whispered.
