Leah Frost fumed, "He's actually resorted to kidnapping, I'll have to shatter his bones one by one when I get back!"
Carson Flores said gravely, "Shane Fox's choice to kidnap Samantha means that Gunner Tate hasn't made a move. Given Gunner's strength and character, if he wanted to kill me, he would've done so directly, without resorting to kidnapping."
Leah Frost frowned, "Did Shane Fox act on his own?"
As Carson Flores figured out the situation on the way, "Gunner's order to Shane was to kill me. Shane tried to attack me but nearly got himself killed instead. He must feel utterly humiliated. I guess he must've boasted in front of Gunner before, so he didn't go back to ask Gunner for help."
"He said he would give me a chance to rescue Samantha. I guess he's gathered a bunch of experts to use her safety to force me to show up, and then they will ambush me."
