Chapter 1 - MY STORY

Kimberly!" I shouted.

"Yes Sir." My secretary immediately responded.

"Do you want anything sir?" She asked dutifully.

"Yes, I do. In fact I think you need some sort of spanking. How did you mess up all these files? I specifically asked you to arrange them separately." I said. I was already exhausted. This was the last thing I needed.

"I'm sorry sir. I will put things in oder." She said hurriedly.

I scoffed. "Take everything away please," I said. I watched her gather all the files. As she did, her face remained carefully neutral, a stark contrast to the usual warmth in her eyes. Was it just exhaustion, or was there something else going on?

I watched her gather all the files. Her chest was right in my face. Yes she was endowed but she didn't need to rub it on all our faces.

"Get everything ready before lunch, I have a meeting and I'll need them. Oh you dropped something." I said.

She bent to pick them and it was then it dawned on my why I was crazy about her.

Those skirts looked like the most amazing skirts ever made just because she had them on. And the heel? Holy Moly, I prefer not to say anything about them.

I think I was overwhelmed with work. Having to fill in the CEO position while my mentor was away was taking a toll on me. Granted, I'll still be CEO eventually but right now I needed to breathe.

It didn't help that I kept seeing Kimberly, my secretary. I was so attracted to her that I fear I might explode of my unvoiced attraction.

"I do not believe this is convincing enough to launch. Nobody will buy a product wouldn't benefit them. Go back and work on this proposal. I do not think you prepared at all." I said to a manager as I threw the file he handed to me over the table.

"The last thing I need right now is a half-assed proposal! Why would you even present this?" I asked, frustrated. Did I just waste my precious time listening to this dumb ass?

"You're the manager of what department again?" I asked testily. He stuttered.

"You don't know your department any more?" I asked.

"Please Sir, don't sack me…" he fell to the ground pleading.

"Kimberly!" I shouted.

"Yes Sir." She promptly replied. She was sitted beside me as I had made it a habit of taking her for all of my meetings.

"Get me his name and department." I ordered.

"Yes sir." She replied immediately. Her voice held a hint of something– was it fear?

I looked at her beautiful face etched in worry. Did she not get that I liked her already?

She was adding to my frustration level. I've tried my best to show her that I liked her but she remained oblivious or decided to act so.

"Get it now!" I shouted once more and she got her cute ass out of the chair and asked the manager to put down his information.

I watched her closely as she did this and I felt my breath constricting. I tried to loosen my tie. This girl will not be the end of me.

I watched her speak softly to the manager but I just didn't have patience for that. Mr Powell my mentor and boss, taught me to be ruthless.

I walked to them, picked up the file in front of this manager and tore it into pieces.

"Manager…King…" I said as I looked at his name tag.

"You're fired." I said.

"Kimberly, go to his department and ask all of them to prepare for a meeting tomorrow. We're getting a new manager from the team." I said brutally.

"Okay sir." She answered almost quietly.

"I have announced to the team Sir." Kimberly told me as she entered my office.

"Good." I responded stoically.

"I have also put the papers in other from earlier. Your lunch meeting can now be held." She said again.

"Good. Anything else?" I asked and looked up to her.

"No…no…no sir." She stuttered. Why was she so flustered?

I got up, walked to her, held her arms with my left hand, caressed her cheek with my left.

"Why are you scared? I might be harsh to others but never to you." I said softly.

"…you are harsh to me sometimes" she replied.

"I apologize for snapping earlier" I said while running my thumb on her jaw and looking into her eyes.

She held my gaze also. I leaned down to plant a kiss but she stopped me…"sir…umm, this might be wrong. What if someone see us?" She asked

"Who will see us? I'm the boss." I said and leaned in for the kiss once again just as my door burst open.

Kimberly immediately adjusted herself and sneaked smoothly away from my office as Director Micheal came in, a smug grin plastered on his face.

"Nice office rendezvous with your secretary there." He said as he took a seat.

"What is it?" I asked in no friendly tone as I adjusted myself from the heat of feeling Kimberly's body close to mine.

"A CEO having an affair with his secretary will be such good news to everyone. Have you no shame? You act all tough before everyone but sleep with your secretary." He continued.

I scrubbed my face with my palm in frustration.

"Can you state your purpose and leave?" I asked

"I'm here to tell you that I can't and will not let you remain the CEO of Powell Group. It belongs to me and I will get it. If there's anyone who knows your background is me, so take your time and watch your back because I'll pounce when you least expect." He said and got up.

He straightened his clothe and opened the door.

"Why do you do it? Why do you go about issuing empty threats? A boost to your ego?" I asked but he left me without an answer as he walked out.

"Oh and I think you should date that secretary of yours before you leave because when I become CEO, I'll have her for myself. Remember your background." He said and chuckled meanly as he left.

Oh he definitely did have something on me. My background and my attraction to my secretary.

Dear reader, you might be wondering why I am being threatened. I wasn't born to be CEO. I was wretched but luck and fate somehow brought me here. Now sit still, let me tell you my story:…
