Chapter 202 - Chapter 9: Pardo: What the Heck?

"Hello, Natasha. Are you back in Elysian Realm today?"

"Yes, Miss Eden."

The girl, clad in tight combat gear with various weapons strapped securely and a hood covering her head, bowed slightly to Eden.

Eden, with her wine-red long hair, sighed and handed over a gem-encrusted wine glass. "No need to be so formal, Natasha. You already have my approval... We're friends, no need for formalities, right?"

"You... You're right, Eden."

Natasha Cioara, codenamed "Raven," hesitated for a moment. Eventually, she didn't take the wine glass but heeded Eden's advice and changed how she addressed her.

Eden smiled and placed the wine glass aside. She produced another equally exquisite wine glass from somewhere and took a sip of the wine inside, asking, "Natasha, how have you been feeling about the trials in Elysian Realm these past few days?"

"I've been making great progress every day."

Raven couldn't help but sigh.

Training in the Elysian Realm was indeed much more intense than outside. Not only could you encounter various enemies, but if you performed well, you could also meet memory replicas of the MANTIS Soldiers and gain the power called "Signets"—this power could even be brought out of the Elysian Realm and be effective in the real world.

World Serpent is truly formidable!

"Hey, Eden!"

A lively and beautiful voice sounded near Raven's ear, startling her.

However, the mercenary didn't react too dramatically, knowing that this was the secret base of World Serpent.

At least the agents who came here for trials could be trusted...

"Ah, Elysia, you're here."

Eden smiled, even squinting happily.

Raven keenly felt that the newcomer had a very good relationship with this Flamechaser. She shouldn't be a colleague from World Serpent like she had thought, but rather... another MANTIS.

Taking a deep breath, the hooded mercenary adjusted her posture, turned around solemnly, and looked towards the direction of the voice.

What Natasha saw was a lively splash of pink. The newcomer wore simple and fashionable clothes, giving the impression of a youthful college student walking in a big city.

Yet, there was a strong and imposing aura around her, making Raven understand her power at once.

Eden introduced her to Raven: "Natasha, this is Elysia, the second among the MANTIS of the Flamechasers, Elysia—Elysia, this is Natasha Cioara, codenamed 'Raven.'"

"Oh! Miss Raven, nice to meet you!"

Elysia tilted her head, scanning Raven with sharp eyes.

Natasha felt a bit uneasy and lowered her head, letting the shadow of her hood cover her face even more.

"Ah, so cute. Is this the successor that World Serpent sent this time? I believe we'll get to know each other better in the future."

Miss Pink Elf noticed Raven's unease and showed her a friendly smile, then turned to Eden to show off her new clothes.

"How do I look? They say this is a trendy style in the current era?"

Eden raised an eyebrow. With her high artistic aesthetic, she naturally noticed the design characteristics of the clothes Elysia was wearing, different from the style of the previous era but not bad in quality.

However, these clothes seemed to be designed for the general public. Paired with the lively Elysia, they appeared ordinary and even disrupted a certain harmonious beauty on Miss Pink Elf.

"Hmm... I'm inspired. Elysia, why don't you come over in a few days and pick up a new set of clothes from me? What do you think?"

The woman with wine-red long hair stood up straight, took out a piece of paper and a feather pen from behind the counter, made a simple note on it, and put it aside.

"Wow! Thank you, Eden!"

Elysia joyfully clasped her hands together, thanking Eden. Then she looked at Natasha, who was observing the situation, and waved with a smile: "Well, I won't disturb your reunion with Eden anymore. Goodbye!"

With that, the pink girl trotted away.

"... Elysia seems very kind."

After hesitating for a while, Raven finally blurted out this sentence.

Eden chuckled. "Haha, she is indeed very friendly. If you show sincerity, it's easy to become friends with her... However, I think she came specifically to see you this time, Natasha."

"What?"

"No, maybe she just came to confirm your location... interesting."

The woman with wine-red long hair tapped on the table, lost in thought.

------------------------------

Luo Lin launched her attack in the form of "Miss Pink Elf." The advantage was that all five of Elysia's exclusive Signets were intact, and she could even choose two exclusive Signets at the start, which was very powerful.

Without much hesitation, Luo Lin chose the following two Signets:

"Blessing of Purity: Extends the duration of the ultimate. During the ultimate's duration, all enemies within are hit three times per second by arrows, which are considered as ultimate damage."

"Blessing of Love: During the ultimate's duration, arrow attacks deal additional physical damage, and the cooldown of active weapon skills is reduced when triggering arrow attacks."

In the classic Elysia's Elysian Realm style, after opening a big move she would quickly burst and gather monsters with the support, charge up Kallen for quick activation of the ultimate, and then gather enough energy for looping because of the extended ultimate duration amplified by exclusive Signets.

Unfortunately, Luo Lin's Elysian Realm module didn't upgrade "Fateful Crossroads"—the passive skill tree that permanently enhances the Elysian Realm mode experience.

Currently, the girl had no teleport gate refreshes, the shop didn't sell additional types of Signets, and even the Elysian Realm support slot was only opened one because of the low level of "Fateful Crossroads."

Luo Lin could only bring in a "Valkyrie - War Chariot (Monster Gathering, Increase the ranged physical damage taken by enemies)" out the door and frantically do damage against the monsters that spawned!

Elysia's teleport gate, who brought two exclusive Signets out the door, was indeed very smooth, and Luo Lin's luck this time was also quite good. She got the "Bodhi" Signet, which was activated based on the combo count, and even got the core Signet of "Bodhi" on the fourth floor—

"Dictum of Bodhi: When the combo reaches a certain number, release 'Bodhi · Open Eye' on a random enemy, dealing adaptive attribute damage, and applying 'Haze' status, causing the enemy to receive additional combo counts when attacked, lasting for 3 seconds."

Elysia herself was good at chaining combos, and coupled with the second core of "Bodhi," Luo Lin's confidence grew significantly. Gritting her teeth, she said,

"Alright, Kallen, you wait for me. Watch me beat you down hard this time!"

With that, she marched aggressively towards the next teleport gate.

What Luo Lin didn't know was that a cat-eared girl was secretly observing her actions from behind.

"What's wrong with Elysia? She seems really angry... Also, who's Kallen?"

Pardofelis clutched her Can tightly, causing the cat to make a displeased noise.

"Pardo? What are you doing here?"

"Wow?! Elysia, you ran so fast, and you even had time to change your clothes for fun?!" The cat-eared girl instantly panicked, shielding her head with her hands, "No no no, don't hit me! I just happened to pass by and saw you angrily fighting those monsters..."

Elysia leaned down, curiosity gleaming in her eyes, "Oh? I was just chatting with Eden earlier... How did you see me fighting monsters?"

"Ah? But I clearly..."

Pardo froze, trembling as she raised her hand, pointing to the glowing teleport gate in the distance, "Um, uh, that, I... I must be seeing things, right?"

Elysia became interested.

"Pardo, take me over there, okay?"

"Umm... Okay..."
