Chapter 160: The Premiere of Fate/Zero Chapter Two! (2)
The second chapter of "Fate/Zero" begins with numerous servants noticing changes on the beach.
Due to an astonishing burst of magical energy from the Mion River, all masters and servants were drawn to it, gathering at the location.
Saber, Artoria, arrived at the scene on a peculiar alchemical device.
This was a prototype motorcycle designed by Durin, but it couldn't actually function on its own. It was only operational thanks to the immense magic injected from external sources.
Rider, Iskander, and Lancer, Diarmuid, also appeared on the other side of the scene simultaneously.
"As expected, it's Caster."
At this moment, everyone turned their gaze towards the sea.
Standing on the water was Caster, Gilles de Rais. The water beneath his feet swarmed with terrifying monstrous shadows, clearly creatures he had summoned.
Judging from the highly unusual release of magical energy, Gilles de Rais was performing some large-scale magic, which even caused a dense fog to emerge from all directions.
"Welcome, saint. It is my greatest honor to see you again."
Gilles de Rais spoke with such reverence, but upon hearing this, Artoria's eyes burned with anger.
"You incorrigible vile monster! What tricks are you planning for tonight?"
"My apologies, Jeanne, but the guest of honor tonight is not you. However, if you would grace us with your presence, I would be utterly delighted. As your humble servant, Gilles de Rais has prepared a feast of death and depravity for you to enjoy to your heart's content!"
As Gilles de Rais finished speaking, the dark waters at his feet began to churn.
Countless monstrous creatures gathered beneath the summoner, launching numerous tentacles that engulfed the cloaked Caster standing above them.
"Did Caster just get absorbed?!"
Seeing this, Artoria felt a shiver run through her body. In her eyes, the number of monsters congregating around the summoner's body continued to grow.
Above this, Gilles de Rais laughed wildly, shouting with madness:
"At this moment, we shall once again raise the flag of the savior!"
"O rejected ones, gather around me! O despised ones, gather around me!"
"I shall command you! Lead you! The resentment of we who are oppressed shall soon be delivered unto God!"
"O Lord in Heaven! I will cleanse sins and praise you!"
"O arrogant God! O callous God! We shall drag you down from your throne!"
"Lambs cherished by God! Humans with bodies resembling those of gods! You will be relentlessly humiliated and torn apart by us!"
"The laughter of us rebels will ring out with the wails of the Son of God, opening the gates of Heaven!"
Under this terrifying momentum, a colossal sea monster suddenly rose from the ocean.
Its dreadful appearance, even through the screen, could be felt distinctly, causing everyone to feel a deep-seated anxiety and fear.
...
The detailed sequence of Caster summoning the gigantic sea monster left the audience in the cinema utterly thrilled.
Compared to the last hurried conclusion, where it was impossible to comprehend what had happened, now everyone realized the magnitude of the monstrous creature Caster had brought forth, something powerful enough to potentially destroy the entire world!
"This is Caster's true ability, his Noble Phantasm?"
"Does anyone remember what the lore says? What exactly is Caster Gilles de Rais's Noble Phantasm?"
"I think it's something called Prelati's Spellbook, a grimoire bound in human skin that can summon and command creatures from the deep sea."
"Monsters from the deep sea? That's practically a Lovecraftian deity!"
"How can such a being be summoned out of thin air? It's a bit over the top, isn't it?"
"Can the other Servants really stand up to such a terrifying existence?"
"The whole city might be destroyed…"
Voices filled the cinema as people were profoundly shaken by the enormous sea monster Caster had summoned, feeling the tremor in their very souls.
Meanwhile, members of the production team around Durin were equally shocked and quickly inquired:
"How did you shoot this scene? Is it really a sea deity?"
Seeing the astonishment around him, Durin merely shook his head without speaking and looked towards Laetitia in the distance.
In response, Laetitia's eyes glinted slightly under her black robe, and she replied:
"It was just a matter of summoning this creature for a bit of help through a sacrificial ritual. Ultimately, it's merely a low-ranking minor deity, not something that would cause too much impact or attract the attention of those beings."
"Minor deity?"
This term surprised everyone present, as the sixth tier was considered the pinnacle in human understanding.
No one expected there to be an even deeper realm beyond that.
Durin, however, was more intrigued by Laetitia's mention of "those beings," implying entities that even this transcendent lich regarded with caution.
Nevertheless, Laetitia had no intention of dwelling on the topic, merely waving her hand calmly and saying:
"It's better not to know too much about certain things when the conditions aren't right."
"…"
Hearing Laetitia's words, Durin and the others had to suppress their curiosity and ceased further inquiries.
...
On the other side, Emperor Hubbard and his young daughter Amy were clearly startled by the monstrous creature that appeared on screen. The emperor quickly asked Wilhelm beside him:
"Does such a creature actually exist? If it were to attack our empire, would we be able to withstand it?"
Upon hearing the king's words, Wilhelm pondered for a moment before slowly replying:
"The strength of knights alone is insufficient. I fear we would have to rely on the archmages of the Tower of Mages to have any hope of defeating it."
"Hmm..."
Emperor Hubbard nodded, fully aware that the foundation of the empire's survival rested with the small number of mages among humans.
This fact was both a comfort and a disappointment to him.
But he also understood that changing this reality was something he likely wouldn't witness in his lifetime.
...
In the corner of the cinema.
"Such a thing actually exists?"
The orc prophet felt a chill run down his spine at that moment. Similarly, Juno, the Black Blade, bristled with extreme wariness.
Orcs possess a natural, powerful instinct, capable of sensing threats and terror intuitively.
At this moment, both the prophet and Juno from the Black Blade were deeply shaken by the terrifying creature that appeared on screen.
"The fact that humans can unleash such a dreadful demonic entity proves that the human empire indeed harbors unimaginable powers!"
The orc prophet was convinced of this, his hands involuntarily clenching tightly.
He increasingly felt that this journey was immensely valuable!
