Chapter 51: Ignorant Adventurer Team's Expedition Against Goblins

The North, Winterfell.

A fifteen-year-old blonde girl walked through the gates of the Adventurer's Guild and headed straight for the platform in the hall. Amidst the noise of adventurers around her, the girl's nerves grew as she clutched the staff in her hand.

She wasn't from a wealthy family; just an orphan raised by the church. Like other orphans, she would leave the church's care at fifteen and choose her own path in life.

Unlike other children, she had been blessed with the Holy Light from a young age, possessing the ability to invoke holy spells by devoutly serving the God of Light. Hence, she received an invitation from the church to become a nun on her fifteenth birthday.

However, she chose to reject the invitation and left the church to join the Adventurer's Guild, driven by a secret desire since childhood—to become an adventurer.

Approaching the front desk, facing the receptionist with a gentle expression, the girl hesitantly said, "Um, I want to become... an adventurer."

The receptionist earnestly helped the priestess complete the procedures to become an adventurer, eventually handing her a white porcelain adventurer's badge and smiling, "Alright, registration is complete. I pray for your future endeavors."

As the receptionist finished speaking, the priestess, who was still thinking about checking for any missions, was suddenly stopped by someone. Turning around, she saw three young people—a boy and two girls, each with a white porcelain badge.

The young man leading them spoke first, "Hey, you're a priestess, right? My team happens to be missing a cleric. Can you join us on an adventure? Sorry, we just received an urgent mission and need as many hands as possible."

"An urgent mission?"

"Yes, it's a goblin extermination."

As the young man spoke, the receptionist at the Adventurer's Guild showed a hesitant expression. However, the young man continued, "Those damn goblins have been attacking villages, plundering food and livestock, and even kidnapping girls. We need to hurry and rescue them!"

"May I ask... are all of you White Porcelain-ranked adventurers? Are you planning to go with just four people?"

Hearing the sudden interjection from the receptionist, the young swordsman replied impatiently, "Miss, what are you joking about? The kidnapped girls are waiting for us to save them. We can't afford to waste any more time!"

Unable to say anything more, even the Adventurer's Guild receptionist watched them leave.

The priestess who awkwardly joined the team couldn't shake off a sense of inexplicable unease, as if a dark shadow hung over these new adventurers from start to finish, growing thicker with each passing moment.

.....

"Cut—End of Act One! You all did great."

Since the first act unfolded entirely within the Adventurer's Guild, filming went relatively smoothly. However, things were about to become more complicated.

Soon, the group arrived at the previously chosen location in the dark forest.

Although Durin only summoned those with roles, many idle adventurers, intrigued by the film, followed along.

At the entrance of the stone cave, Beldia and Wiz, absent for several days, waved to Durin from afar. The area they were in had also undergone significant changes. Despite their laziness, they had transformed the set and prepared props according to Durin's instructions.

Moreover, due to filming requirements, many staff members were present, whom Alyssa, the guild leader, had tried to discourage—props team, lighting crew, set decorators, and others.

When some of the Northern adventurers, still unclear about the situation, saw the Headless Knight, they showed signs of caution. Unlike Southern adventurers, who might flee at the sight of the Headless Knight, these Northerners were accustomed to facing top-tier undead or monsters daily.

After Durin clarified the misunderstanding, filming resumed.

Firstly, this scene depicted novice adventurers being persuaded to enter the goblin cave and being wiped out due to their lack of experience. The priestess was saved by a goblin slayer and then joined forces with it to eliminate the remaining goblins.

Although it sounded simple, filming this scene was quite challenging. Many of the bloody scenes needed to be toned down using clever editing techniques, and fortunately, the original work had already avoided explicit depictions of violence. Durin simply had to recreate the scenes from his memory of "Goblin Slayer."

However, the main difficulty lay in the extras for this scene—the goblins, who were the antagonists. To be honest, while directing people to act was at least feasible, getting monsters to perform as required was as challenging as getting your cat to do twenty backflips on command.

If it weren't for Wiz mentioning to Durin at the time that liches had an ability called Puppet Magic, which could control mentally weak monsters, and that she could learn it with some time, Durin would have considered asking someone to play the role of goblins as a favor.

In any case, Wiz's efforts in recent days had been remarkable. Seeing the goblins waiting obediently at the cave entrance, Durin felt that this lich lady could easily start a monster circus with Lawrence if she put in a little effort.

With the goblin issue resolved, the final problem for this shoot was just...

"I'm ready, Director."

Saiki's voice came slowly from under the helmet. It seemed he hadn't experienced such a crowded atmosphere or worried about exposing his undead identity for a long time, which made him a bit nervous and stiff. However, Durin didn't see this as a problem. The real Goblin Slayer was a solitary person, and Sakae's demeanor suited the role perfectly.

Seeing the figure clad in armor emerge from the side, the adventurers who had come along and read the script almost mistook him for the real Goblin Slayer.

In any case, after ensuring that the new adventurers and Daphne were ready, Durin glanced slowly at the cave, which had been arranged to his specifications, and said, "Alright, everyone, take your positions. Filming for Act Two of 'Goblin Slayer' is about to begin!"
