*Huh?! Huh?! Huhhhhhh?!*
"Atsu..?"
*I knew she liked me but... it actually feels weird to be confessed to. Ah...!!! What do I do??!!*
"Atsushi." She called before placing her hand on mine, which was on her head.
*Hngh.* I thought as my face turned red.
"I-I-i..."
"Don't worry about it, Atsushi." She said, smiling at me.
"A-are you sure about that?" I asked as she nodded.
"Am aware of what's going on between you and Kimishita, I just wanted to let it out." She said.
"O-oh, well then." I said, looking away.
*Am I supposed to forget this cause I can't.*
"W-well then, let's get going." I said as she nodded.
"Yeah, let's."
*What should I tell her? Am sure keeping her that way will make me worried.*
*Well, whatever.*
"Yeah, keep running, keep running!!" The coach shouted as we ran the fifth lap.
"Goddammit, I am really tired." Ryuto said.
"Well, yeah, it's been long since we trained last." Akaji said, smiling.
"Hey."
"Hmm?"
"Um, I would like to speak with you after training today, so please, would you..."
"I'm sorry, I'll be with Atsu today." Akane said.
"Geek."
"Oh, but can you give me some time before going with him?"
"Certainly not. We've made plans before today."
*This girl really wants to make trouble for me.* I thought with a smile on my face.
"You're grinning." Misaki said, running beside me.
"Oh, ha ha."
"Seems like it's going well for you. Are you not bothered about Akatsuki?"
"I've kinda gotten over it. We haven't spoken since then." I replied.
"Well, that's for the best. I suspected that you'd be drawn into your shell if you found out."
"Well, luckily for me, I'm stronger than that." I said as she smiled.
"Must be Akane."
"Huh?"
"Haha, your ears are red." She said, chuckling as I looked away.
"Hey, stop teasing me." I said.
"Sorry, sorry. Well, good luck with your other matches." She said before falling back.
*Seriously.* I thought, shaking my head.
Ha... seriously, the year just went by without interesting activities. I just woke up trained, chatted with Akane, ate and other stuff.
And finally, it was the new year. Surprised how the year passed? Don't be, I just lead a lame ass life for the few months after the matches.
New years celebration passed as well, yeah, boring right. Well, that only happened when I'm basing it on my soccer career (big talk for a student).
For my normal lifestyle(which I never once had until recently), during Christmas Eve, I spent most of it with Akane.
On Christmas day, I went on a date( I'm embarrassed to call it that) with Akane, and we spent other days telling stories of our lives (though mine was boring)
"Akane, should you be spending your new year with me, your friends would get mad." I said as she sat on a bench in the training room.
"Hmm... I don't care, really." She said smiling as she brought out a wrapped object.
"What's that?" I asked.
"It's your new years present." She said smiling as she handed it over to me.
"Can I?"
"Yeah."
I unwrapped the object and saw some cookies.
"Well, you can taste them if you want. I'm not sure if it's to your liking." She said, fiddling with her hair.
"Mm, it's pretty good." I said, smiling.
"Th-thanks." She said, smiling.
She also gave me a present on Christmas. I dropped the cookie while bringing out a tiny box.
"Hmm?"
"Here." I said, looking away.
"For me?"
"Yeah, why not?"
"Th-thanks, I didn't expect that."
"You can open it if you want to." I said.
"Okay."
*Hmm, it's been two minutes. Why hasn't she said anything?* I thought, looking at her.
She sat there, holding the box in her hand and looking into it.
*Eh?! Hasn't she seen the gift? Or did someone mess with it?*
"Atsushi."
"A-Akane..." I called as she smiled and looked up at me.
"It's... it's beautiful." She said.
"Ha... thank goodness, I thought you didn't like it."
"I would have loved it, even it wasn't this beautiful." She said as I smiled.
"Glad you liked it." I said as she nodded.
Well, am pa I ticularly not against this kind of life right now, but I knew that I had more important things to focus on, even though I...
