Chapter 20 - chapter twenty

Kisama is in the heat of battle against a horde of monsters pouring out of a magical portal. With swift movements, he dodges a claw swipe and goes for the monster's neck, ripping out its throat. As another monster approaches, he executes a spinning kick, breaking its neck with precision.

Feeling the urgency of the situation, Kisama channels magic into his legs to propel himself away from the ongoing chaos. He whispers an incantation, "water magic: water bullets," and unleashes a barrage of water bullets towards multiple monsters, effectively neutralizing them.

As the situation escalates, Kisama realizes the gravity of the threat the monsters pose. "Damn, we need to stop the portal or we will be overrun by these monsters," he thinks to himself. Puzzled by the timing of the attack coinciding with the absence of five captains on long missions, Kisama suspects foul play. "This attack was an inside job," he concludes, his mind racing to uncover the traitor among them.

More monsters continue to emerge from the magical portal, intensifying the danger. In a moment of strategic clarity, Kisama calls out to his comrade, Arael, who nods in understanding. With determination in his eyes, Kisama harnesses his magic, surrounded by a blue mystical glow, and summons a massive blue magical symbol in the sky.

With a resolute yell, "water magic: water prison," a torrent of water cascades from the symbol, enclosing the horde of monsters in a round-shaped prison. Arael, in perfect synchronization, charges his own magic, creating a crackling lightning spear that he hurls towards the water prison, electrifying the monsters trapped within.

The intensity of the battle takes a toll on Kisama, who falls to his knees gasping for air as the strain of the powerful spell weighs heavily on him. Undeterred, he commands Scott Gallio, the 1st squad captain, to venture inside the portal and eliminate the threat from the other side.

With great speed, Scott rushes towards the magical portal and leaps through to the other side. Within the depths of the cave, he encounters a monstrous gray creature resembling a spider, spawning monsters at an alarming rate. The eerie cave is guarded by four imposing monsters, their gaze filled with malice as they regard Scott with murderous intent.

In a bold display of power, Scott implements his unique magical ability, blood magic, by biting both of his arms and allowing his blood to drip and float in the air. The Gallio clan's feared proficiency in blood magic becomes evident as Scott prepares to confront the monstrous threat lurking within the cave.

The once peaceful streets of the Kingdom of Ashrone were now filled with chaos and terror as civilians ran for their lives, screaming in fear as a horde of monstrous creatures tore through them, leaving a trail of blood in their wake. The air was thick with the stench of death and destruction as the monsters devoured anyone in their path, shattering the tranquility of the kingdom.

Grace never imagined that her day would take such a horrifying turn. It was supposed to be a day of mourning for the massacre of the Blouet clan, but now she found herself cowering in the midst of the chaos, her heart pounding in her chest as the monsters closed in on her. The same creatures that had taken her family away now loomed over her, their menacing presence sending shivers down her spine.

Tears streamed down Grace's face as she whispered a desperate plea for someone to save her. "Someone, please save me," she repeated over and over, her voice barely above a whisper amid the chaos surrounding her.

As the monster's giant arm reached out towards her, Grace closed her eyes, steeling herself for what seemed like an inevitable end. But to her surprise, the creature's hand never touched her. Instead, she heard a cacophony of screams, followed by a moment of eerie silence.

A gentle touch on her hand made Grace open her eyes in astonishment, and she found herself gazing into the kind smile of a muscular blond woman named Charlotte. "I'm here. You're safe. Go and follow the knights ahead; they will lead you to safety," Charlotte reassured her, her voice a calming presence amidst the chaos.

With a nod of gratitude, Grace mouthed a heartfelt "thank you" before running towards the group of knights who offered her sanctuary. As she disappeared into the distance, Charlotte's gaze lingered on the devastated kingdom of Ashrone, a mix of anger and determination etched on her face. She longed to seek out those responsible for the destruction but knew her priority was the evacuation of the civilians, ensuring their safety above all else.

Surveying the dwindling numbers of monsters in the distance, Charlotte hoped that the tide of the battle would soon turn in their favor, bringing an end to the nightmare that had befallen the kingdom. Just as she was lost in her thoughts, a familiar voice calling her name brought her back to the present.

Turning to face Henry,

Charlotte listened as he suggested moving towards the east side to check if the area was clear of danger. Nodding in agreement, she signaled to her comrades, including Henry, and set out on yet another mission to secure the safety of the kingdom's remaining inhabitants.
