"Ah, how annoying." Jigen covered his neck with his left hand and forcefully tilted his head, causing his bones to crack audibly.
Looking down at Madara, his expression was mocking. "Battle? That's a term used for two equally matched opponents. It doesn't apply to us."
"So, you're saying you can easily defeat me?" Madara's face slowly revealed a proud smile, "Is that what you mean?"
"Exactly." Jigen replied matter-of-factly, "Though the Onmyoji's barrier locking this space is somewhat troublesome and this body has significant limitations, no matter what, the flock cannot resist the shepherd."
"Is that so?" Madara's voice was emotionless, but the murderous aura erupting from him distorted the air around him, almost becoming tangible.
"From the moment the Divine Tree descended," Jigen calmly spread his arms wide, "this planet became the nursery chosen by the Otsutsuki Clan. No matter how you struggle, the outcome won't change!"
"Perhaps Kaguya's rebellion gave you hope!" His voice rose, sweeping over the island's humans and yokai. "But the truth is cruel. The Otsutsuki Clan will not abandon this nursery! No matter how hard you struggle, you're just ants trying to shake a tree!"
"Damn it!" Sasuke struggled to hold his composure. "Those Otsutsuki bastards don't even regard us as worthy opponents!"
Kaito remained silent, his gaze at Jigen as cold as ice.
Jigen continued, "Especially you yokai. You've been barely clinging to life for thousands of years, so why come out now? If you stayed hidden, you might have lived longer."
"Bastard!" Sato, enveloped by invisible wind blades, screamed, "I will definitely kill you to avenge my brother!"
For a moment, several other yokai maintaining the barrier also voiced their protests.
The sound of swords clashing rang out. Onikiri's long hair danced in the lightning as he gripped his weapon tightly, saying in a deep voice, "I shall inherit my former master's will and fight until my blade shatters."
"There can be no whole eggs under a collapsed nest. I have no intention of waiting for death."
Kieji had spun a giant web between towering earth spikes, her half-spider form perched in its center.
"When Yomi (the underworld) crumbles, I have no place left." Kaori's red dress fluttered in the wind, her face emotionless, while the illusion of Yomi's blood sea behind her began to boil.
"We will never give up on resisting! Hic!"
Only Yuta seemed drunk, waving his fluffy paws and letting out a loud burp.
Outside the barrier, Futa hovered in mid-air, resting his hand on his sword hilt.
He frowned tightly, saying, "Why is Sasuke allowed to participate directly, and I have to wait here?"
"Stop complaining, Futa," Gurē flew beside him, "Can't you see even Kaito hasn't joined the fight yet?"
But in the next second, Gurē shouted as well, "Those damn Otsutsuki are too arrogant! I should teach them a lesson!"
"All right, calm down." Yūrei's tone was unusually serious. "We, the yokai stationed outside the barrier, are the final defense. Stay vigilant!"
"Yes." The yokai who had witnessed Yūrei's temper quickly complied.
By this point, the murderous aura surrounding Madara had filled half the sky, wild and menacing.
"Looks like you're pretty angry."
Jigen's gaze returned to Madara, his face curious as he asked, "Why? Is it because I spoke the truth, and you're ashamed?"
"Hehehehehe…" Madara lowered his head, laughing softly as his long hair covered his face.
His laughter grew louder, eventually erupting into maniacal laughter.
"Hahahahahahaha!"
"What's so funny?" Jigen looked at him, even more curious.
"Hah… hah…"
Madara finally calmed down, his body slowly rising into the air until he was level with Jigen.
"Nothing," he locked eyes with Jigen and smirked, "I'm just too excited."
Jigen didn't respond.
"All this time, I blindly pursued complete peace. Now, looking back, it was foolish!" Madara even laughed at himself.
"Brother…" In the distance, Izuna looked up at Madara's figure, murmuring quietly, "No, it wasn't foolish. My brother was simply too kind."
'I'm going to be sick! Brother complex strikes again!'
'Those who Madara killed in the past must be dying of anger all over again!'
At this moment, Kaito and Sasuke's thoughts aligned perfectly as they mentally ridiculed him.
"Only now do I understand." Madara placed his hand over his heart, "I am Uchiha Madara! The burning blood in my chest tells me that I am a ninja who craves blood and battle!"
His gaze was filled with battle lust as the murderous aura occupying half the sky pressed further towards the other side.
"So, it's great that I met you! And the existence of the Otsutsuki Clan is fantastic! Otherwise, this world would be too boring!"
"Cough, cough…" Izuna, smacked by his brother's words, choked.
"Kind?" Kaito and Sasuke exchanged glances.
"You don't understand!" Izuna, embarrassed and angry, snapped back, "My brother's dream is already shattered, yet he's still helping everyone fight the invaders. Isn't that kindness?"
'Whatever makes you happy.' Kaito and Sasuke immediately averted their gaze.
"I see, so you're the type who enjoys battle." Jigen's aura also surged, pushing back Madara's murderous energy.
He stretched out his left hand. "Then let me grant your wish."
*Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…*
Countless black stakes shot out once again.
"Show me your real strength, you bastard!" Madara swung his giant fan to deflect the stakes, "Or you'll die soon!"
The chain connected to the scythe lashed out once more.
"Clang!"
Jigen blocked it with a black rod in his right hand.
In the next moment, both of them disappeared, colliding at an unprecedented speed. The battle this time became more intense than ever.
Their movements grew faster, constantly shifting within the massive space inside the barrier.
Madara's fan and chain-scythe attacks varied in distance, occasionally giving him time to use ninjutsu.
Jigen's figure flickered, growing larger or smaller as he continued creating black weapons using Yin-Yang Release.
Like two rapidly swimming fish, they darted through the air, clashing again and again, their battles sending shockwaves through the atmosphere.
Various ninjutsu and Yin-Yang constructs rained down from the sky. Kaito, who was also within the barrier, had to quickly create a defensive barrier, sheltering the others.
"Is this all you've got?" Madara's attacks grew fiercer. "It seems you're not as strong as you claim."
"Heh." Jigen dodged another attack by enlarging and shrinking his body. His voice remained calm, "Looks like I'll have to abandon this broken body today."
"You're going to reveal your true form?" Madara halted his attack, narrowing his eyes as he studied Jigen. "Hurry up then, I'm looking forward to it!"
