Outside the cave, the group relied on Neji's Byakugan to break the seal at the entrance.
The members of Team Guy each went in different directions to decipher the characters of the seal.
When the seal at the cave's entrance was lifted, Sakura punched and shattered the massive rock blocking the entrance.
Kakashi signaled, and everyone quickly entered the cave.
"Gaara!"
Naruto, seeing Gaara sitting beneath Deidara, immediately became furious.
"Let go of Gaara! You bastards!"
"Ah, loud and noisy—this is what the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki is like, hmm." Deidara looked calmly at the enraged Naruto and nodded.
"Hey, do you two know where Uchiha Itachi is?" Sasuke emerged from behind Naruto.
"So, you're the little brother, huh? You really do look like Itachi, hmm." Deidara smiled. "Are you looking to take revenge on Itachi?"
"I'm Uchiha Sasuke," Sasuke said calmly. "Do you know where Itachi is?"
"Hey, hey, hey! You're quite arrogant, little brother!" Deidara looked at Sasuke, displeased. "That arrogant attitude is just as annoying as your brother's, hmm."
"Not gonna talk? No matter—I'll make you talk." Sasuke gripped his sword hilt and lowered his stance slightly.
"I can't stand that guy, Itachi," Deidara said, stuffing his right hand into his ninja pouch, where a chewing sound could be heard. "Since you hate him too, I'll just get rid of you, hmm."
How could a conversation between these two go on like this?
The others all had the same thought.
"Deidara, our target is the Nine-Tails," said Sasori, lying on the ground, his voice raspy.
"Sasori, leave the Nine-Tails and that Uchiha brat to me, hmm." Deidara stood up, and the clay bird beside him grabbed Gaara's body and swallowed it whole.
"Damn it! Give Gaara back!" Naruto's eyes turned red, and he charged straight at Deidara.
"Naruto!" Kakashi and Sakura were shocked.
He's still so impulsive!
Deidara dodged Naruto's punch and lightly jumped onto the back of the clay bird.
The white clay bird flapped its wings and quickly flew towards the cave entrance.
"Stop right there!" Naruto hurriedly chased after him.
"Sasori, I'm leaving this to you, hmm." Deidara called back from atop the bird.
"Deidara, you bastard!" Sasori coldly scolded.
Deidara laughed and turned his head back, the clay bird ascending further into the air, almost out of the cave.
*Zzzzip*—a blade crackling with lightning sliced through the clay bird's belly. Electricity coursed through it, nearly cutting the bird in half, and it plummeted from the sky.
"Who said you could leave?"
Sasuke, still mid-air, coldly watched as Deidara fell off the bird. He then turned and kicked the bird's head, which was wrapped around Gaara, towards Naruto.
"Catch it!"
"Good job, Sasuke!"
Naruto instantly created two shadow clones, catching the giant bird's head together and jumping back towards Kakashi and the others.
"You bastard! You've made me really angry, hmm."
Deidara's right hand continued to chew, and he quickly threw a white ball at Sasuke.
The white object transformed rapidly into another clay bird and charged at Sasuke.
"Die! Hmph!" Deidara, still mid-air, formed a hand seal.
Electric arcs spread from Sasuke's sword, extending across his body and then further into the air.
"Chidori Stream!"
The lightning arcs flickered across the white clay bird, disrupting its explosive clay before it could detonate, causing it to drop to the ground.
Both landed simultaneously, facing off again.
This kid has developed several variations of the Chidori technique.
Kakashi looked at Sasuke's back and smiled with pride.
"Gaara!" Naruto dug Gaara's body out of the clay, shaking his shoulders. "Hey! Gaara, wake up!"
Sakura hurried over, checking Gaara, and sadly shook her head at Naruto.
"How could this happen…" Tears welled up in Naruto's eyes. "I'm sorry, Gaara, I couldn't save you..."
"What is this…" He wiped his tears away forcefully. "Doesn't this mean I haven't improved at all since three years ago?"
On the other side, Deidara glared at Sasuke, angrily biting down on another piece of explosive clay.
"You brat! I'll make sure you die a horrible death, hmm."
"Enough, Deidara." Sasori's voice grew impatient. "Don't forget our target. Capture the Nine-Tails kid and finish this quickly!"
"My dear grandson," Chiyo, who had been silent, stepped forward, her drooping eyelids opening slightly as she stared at Sasori. "Your grandmother is right here; where are you in such a hurry to go?"
"Granny Chiyo, why does an old lady who's already retired have to come out and cause trouble?" Sasori replied without mercy.
"I've lived long enough." Chiyo undid her hair and glanced back at Gaara's body. "My dear grandson, I could forgive you for associating with evildoers, but I cannot forgive you for attacking the Kazekage twice."
"Twice?" Naruto looked up in surprise.
"Besides Gaara, there's also the Fourth Kazekage—Sasori incited Orochimaru."
Chiyo pulled several kunai from her sleeve, connecting them with chakra strings. With a flick of her wrists, the kunai lined up neatly in the air and shot towards Sasori.
"Heh, maybe it wasn't just two Kazekages, you old hag!"
Sasori's long metal tail slithered out from behind him, easily blocking Chiyo's kunai.
"What do you mean?" Chiyo's expression changed.
"Exactly what you think." Sasori's voice was filled with pleasure. "That was my most perfect work."
"You bastard!" Chiyo panted heavily. "So it was you who made the Third Kazekage disappear back then!"
"What?"
Everyone turned to Sasori in shock.
So, the missing Third Kazekage was killed by this guy!
"Sasori!" Deidara created another giant clay bird and jumped onto its back. "You were rushing me before, and now you're the one getting sidetracked! Hmm!"
"No choice," Sasori said coldly. "These guys are tough. To capture the Nine-Tails kid, we'll have to defeat them all."
"You should've said so earlier! Let them fully appreciate my art! Hmm!"
"Enough with the chatter!" Sasuke shouted with a frown. "Do you two know where Itachi is or not?"
"You little brat!" Deidara's forehead bulged with veins.
"No idea," Sasori replied flatly. "But if you become part of my collection, I'll avenge you by finding Itachi."
"In that case, you both can die here!" Sasuke glanced back at Naruto. "Consider this payback for calling me dead last."
"What do you mean?" Naruto squinted, confused as he looked at Sasuke.
"Sasuke, don't be reckless. We need to be cautious," Kakashi warned.
"Enough talking."
Sasuke stepped forward, quickly forming hand seals.
"Fire Style: Majestic Flame Destroyer!"
Blazing flames spewed endlessly from his mouth, engulfing Deidara and Sasori.
