The next day each of them had been assigned to different rooms and were forced to meet with new roommates.
The school year was going to end in a week and Mrs. Rose Marilyn had said that when the school year ended they would begin.
Tumunomi Escaver met at the Cafeteria that afternoon and by the time he sat down, he knew that he did not imagine the reactions his presence was causing.
Andrew, John, Jake, Jacob and Ivan quickly joined him.
"Yo, we wanted to tell you yesterday Anna came up to us asking if we wanted to hang?".
Tumunomi Escaver stared at him as if he were an alien and Jacob laughed. Although he just hoped that Tumunomi Escaver's dedication would not end up ruining him.
Alvin smacked his hand on the table. He should have bet.
"Is it just me or…"
"Oh, yeah, they have not stopped talking about it."
"About the arm?"
"No, about the food tray."
Oh, he laughed Then shot a glare at the owner who was at the other end of the hall.
"So what about Anna?"
"Do you like her?"
Jacob was about to answer but Andrew did for him.
"One of her friends actually does not look bad."
"Okay, you guys could check out that stuff. I'll meet you guys later."
Tumunomi Escaver went upstairs after eating and, just as he left Anna and her friends were coming to meet them. Jacob hid his laugh and prepared to talk as john went speechless as his mind was trying to process the beaty approaching them.
Tumunomi Escaver had guessed that he ould have to pack. So he folded his clothes in the room and was packing up. He could not wait to see Derek again. He saw some of hid magazines and then arranged them into a corner. Glancing through the window, he saw Mrs. Rose Marilyn downstairs. As she was talking to some staff, she turned to him then continued speaking to them.
He wished he could time jump into next week.
He heard a knock on the door and reached it.
"Hey, someone is looking for you."
The 5 of them stood outside the door.
"Who?"
"Anna and her friends."
He saw the expectations in their eyes, the hunger. In fact, John was smiling so brightly he could replace the sun.
"I am sleeping."
Jacob let out a breath and smacked his own forehead, but the others looked confused.
"My mind is already on the next week."
"Yes, but this is happening now."
Tumunomi Escaver looked at them again and shrugged.
He headed downstairs with them and he tapped Jacob.
"Where are they?"
Jacob pointed and he nodded, taking the first stride. His friends were ecstatic and found it hard to hide it even.
Anna touched a string of her hair and tucked it behind her ear. Her friends shifted a she approached and John was gliding in thoughts as well as his movements.
"Hello, are you Tumunomi Escaver?"
He regarded her and looked at her until he saw something in her pocket.
He reached for it and she stopped his first hand so his second reached for it and she caught it too but he twisted his hold on her writ before struggling to grab the comb.
Snatching it, he used it on his hair. His stubborn curly hair refused to budge, so he had to exert al of his strength before it finally worked. He went through his entire hair before returning it.
"Thanks, what is your name?"
She looked at him for a while before smiling and introducing herself.
A week later, Tumunomi Escaver was all too happy to reach downstairs and go through his morning routine before and after his chores. He, like his roommates, had planned to wait in front of Rose Marilyn's office like they had been told.
But first were the last classes.
After breakfast they headed upstairs to their classrooms and Tumunomi Escaver was caught staring through the window.
He could see a row of buildings. A multitude of people. He could see people bumping to music and even a corner of the street were people were dancing but he could hear no sound. A ways away were even people who were rolling dice and holding some sort of Potent Artefact that looked like an 'L'.
"Hey! You there!"
Tumunomi Escaver lazily turned his face to the teacher.
"It's the last day, do you have anything to share with the class?
He stood up my o say something then decided against it, shaking his head. "No."
The kids around him laughed and the teacher's face turned ugly. It quickly resumed to joy but Tumunomi Escaver was back to looking out the window.
Everything wasa blur to him, even when a cake was produced to celebrate the end of his 4th primary year.
They had all been given conic party hats before being gathered for a group photo but he didn't amile at all. And after sticking to it after being repeatedly being told to, some other kids started following him to do the same. The last picture had the teachers head in his hands and the kids all trying to copy Tumunomi Escaver who could not wait till it was all over.
The lighter sticks on the cakes guttered out way after they had already shared the cake. The photographer glared at him but he was already out of the class. He then returned to have a bite and the teacher rolled his eyes.
He did not notice when he began running and even skipping at some point. His smile could not have been wider and the throng of people he had to wade or push or shove through could not dampen his enthusiasm.
He reached his room and did not even bother meeting his roommates before heading downstairs. Tumunomi Escaver
Knocked on the door and he heard a gasp inside before a voice.
"Come in."
He saw her expression and it did not look welcoming. Yet, he was gsutuees to go back out.
"Later, not now. Thank you."
His shoulders drooped and he held her gaze until he shut the door. Letting out a breath, he raised his head in anger and met Anna's eyes she was down the hallway with her friends and he heard sime words but he did not care about what was so said until he passed by them and back up to his room.
What if it was all a lie?
Tumunomi Escaber closed his eyes and looked out the window and laughed, a short dry kind of laugh.
The boy squeezed his face, why did that happen when he felt like squeezing her skull through his fingers.
He then stood up, he just needed to wait that was what she had said. The boy had not eaten his lunch and he had thought and laughed into the night.
Tumunomi Escaver went to her office then stopped himself by getting dinner first before returning.
This time, he saw his friends there.
Jacob walked over to him as he approached.
"Hey, whats wrong? Anna said you were angry this afternoon."
He looked at Jacob and did not answer him before John came to his front.
"You know you can tell us if anything is wrong, right?"
Jacob slowly pulled John out of his way before he knocked on the door.
"Come in, come in." Mrs Rose Marilyn's voice could not have sounded more tired.
Tumunomi Escaver walked in to find her writing furiously on papers before placing them in a file jacket and cling the jacket to finally tuck it in one of the tables compartments.
The supernatural aggression and precision of her work contradicted her worn out face.
"You guys seem eager." She continued writing as if she was concentrating without her eyes. "I understand; anything outside of the repetitive norm, eh?"
