Chapter 68 - Greetings, big kitty. My name is Uncle Ram.

Rajeev, his heart still pounding but driven by a growing curiosity, cautiously approached Vyaaghra, the tiger. Each step he took was tentative, his instincts screaming at him to keep his distance, but the sight of the enormous beast sitting so calmly beside Gowthami began to ease his fear. Vyaaghra's majestic presence, which had been so terrifying just moments before, now seemed almost serene under Gowthami's gentle touch.

As Rajeev drew nearer, he could see the tiger's muscles relax, its eyes half-closed in contentment as Gowthami's hand stroked its thick fur. The bond between them was undeniable, a connection so deep and pure that it filled Rajeev with a sense of awe. He hesitated for a moment, then reached out with trembling fingers. The tiger turned its head slightly, acknowledging Rajeev with a calm, steady gaze. Encouraged by the lack of aggression, Rajeev slowly began to caress Vyaaghra's side, marveling at the strength and softness of its coat.

The fear that had once gripped him started to dissolve, replaced by a deep respect for this magnificent creature and the inexplicable bond it shared with Gowthami. Rajeev found himself smiling as he gently patted Vyaaghra, the tiger's massive head nudging him in what felt like a sign of acceptance.

Meanwhile, Ram was kneeling a few feet away, his lips moving in fervent prayer. He had closed his eyes tightly, pleading with every deity he could think of to protect them from the beast. But as his prayer reached its peak, he cracked his eyes open, hoping for some sign that they were safe. What he saw nearly caused him to cry out in shock.

There was Rajeev, his friend and companion, not only standing beside the tiger but actually playing with it, his hands moving over the animal's fur as if it were a harmless pet. Ram's eyes widened in disbelief. He blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. The sight of Rajeev, who had been just as terrified as he was, now calmly interacting with the tiger left him speechless.

Ram's mouth hung open, his prayer forgotten as he tried to process the surreal scene before him. The fear that had gripped him moments ago was replaced by an overwhelming sense of bewilderment and disbelief. How was this possible? How could Rajeev be so calm, so at ease with a creature that had nearly scared them out of their wits?

The sight of his friend laughing softly as he caressed the tiger's fur was something Ram would never have believed if he hadn't seen it with his own eyes. The cave, once filled with terror, now seemed almost peaceful, the tension replaced by an unspoken understanding that in this strange moment, they were witnessing something extraordinary.

Gowthami, noticing Ram's hesitation, smiled warmly. "Ram, come join us. Vyaaghra won't harm you," she reassured him, her voice soothing.

Ram stood rooted to the spot, his heart racing with fear. He swallowed hard, his eyes fixed on the tiger. "I... I'm not sure," he stammered, his voice trembling.

Gowthami noticed Ram's discomfort and reached out a reassuring hand. "Ram, it's okay. Vyaaghra is gentle. You have nothing to fear," she encouraged, her voice calm and reassuring.

'I guess I'm overanalyzing this, he thought to himself. ' Rajeev and the tiger are getting along so well, I don't think this is as bad as I first envisioned.'

He made a gradual effort to go nearer to them.

Ram took a deep breath, torn between his fear and his trust in Gowthami. After a moment of hesitation, he tentatively stepped closer to where Rajeev and Gowthami were sitting with Vyaaghra. His heart still pounded with apprehension, but he found courage in Gowthami's soothing presence.

Rajeev gave Ram an encouraging smile, silently urging him to overcome his fear. "You'll see, Ram. Vyaaghra is more friend than foe," he said softly, his tone supportive.

The tiger growled at the ram after seeing that he was getting closer to them.

Ram halted moving closer to them because he was a bit afraid.

Tiger gave him a slightly irate glance. A shiver ran down his spine at the sight of the tiger.

Ram addressed himself, ' You ought to be tenacious because you are a male and you must contend with danger fearlessly. You have clashed against numerous individuals as well as few livestock, and of coarse those are not comparable this, but you ought to be a gallant man. Don't be terrified of this tiger; Gowthami is here to manage it.'

He mustered a grin and stepped forward after gathering some bravery.

" Greetings, big kitty. My name is Uncle Ram."

'Ram, which route are you taking? Big Kitty, I'm sure it's going to have you for dinner later' . He has a monologue within his head.

"Apologies, but I wanted to say hi to Vyaaghra—nice name" . Ram's words tremble with terror as he says them.

Rajeev can see that Ram is frightened of the tiger.

Rajeev reassured Ram, "Don't worry, it's very friendly. Come on, get closer and become friends."

"Look at way that tiger is staring at me; you're basically tempting me to put my head in its mouth, brother." Ram short back at Rajeev.

Gowthami chuckled and said, "Do not fret, Ram; I'm sure you'll make a good friend of it once you get better acquainted with it. Vyaaghra hates people who shun her and who hesitant to get closer with her."

"Come on, Ram; you often claim that you are not afraid of tigers when we go on safari. This tiger is kind; come make friends with it."

The tiger stared at the ram with its sapphire eyes, refusing to shift its elegance.

Ram's eyes widened as he shot Rajeev a nervous glance. His heart raced with a mix of fear and embarrassment. He knew his bravado had been challenged by the presence of Vyaaghra, whose large, penetrating eyes seemed to hold a silent warning.

In a panic, Ram asked his brother, "Do you think now is a good time to talk about all of that?"

Gowthami, sensing Ram's discomfort, gently placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, Ram," she said softly, her voice calming. "Vyaaghra is a friend."

Ram swallowed hard, trying to muster the courage to face the tiger's gaze. He took a deep breath, his hesitation palpable. "I... I know," he stammered, his voice trembling slightly. "It's just... unexpected."

Vyaaghra blinked slowly, its expression unreadable yet somehow comforting. The tiger's presence, once intimidating, now seemed to radiate a sense of calm and assurance.

When the ram finally approached the tiger, he attempted to firmly grasp it with the palm of his hand. After giving him a thorough examination, the tiger moved away from Gowthami and avoided letting Ram get close to it.

Ram was really unhappy since he had intended to befriend the tiger, but it had forbidden him from touching it.

"I believe it was extremely disturbed, but rejoice that it is going to grow closer to you shortly thereafter"  Gowthami remarked.

Rajeev inquired straight away, "Do you recall your childhood, Gowthami? I see that you recognized your pet, which suggests that your recollections have returned."
