Chapter 64 - Who are you?

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the village, a group of villagers, tired and concerned, trudged back from their search in the jungle. They had spent hours calling out for Rajeev, combing through the dense underbrush, but had found no trace of him.

"Maybe he found another way out and returned home safely," one of the villagers suggested, trying to lift the group's spirits.

As they approached Rajeev's mansion, they noticed it bathed in bright light, a beacon in the surrounding darkness. The sight brought a glimmer of hope.

"Look, the mansion is lit up," another villager pointed out. "He must be back. Let's go check."

The group quickened their pace, relief starting to replace their worry. They reached the front door and knocked, their anticipation palpable. After a moment, Radha, Rajeev's faithful servant, answered the door, her face etched with concern.

"Radha, is Rajeev back?" one of the villagers asked, their hopeful eyes searching her face for reassurance.

Radha shook her head, her worry deepening. "No, he hasn't returned. I've been waiting for him all evening. Where could he be?"

The villagers exchanged uneasy glances. "We searched the jungle, but we couldn't find him," one of them explained. "We saw the lights on and thought he might have come back on his own."

Radha's hands wrung nervously. "He was supposed to be back before dark. This isn't like him at all."

One of the older villagers stepped forward, his voice steady and calming. "Radha, don't worry. Rajeev is resourceful and experienced in the jungle. He might have found a safe place to stay the night. We'll organize another search party first thing in the morning.

Radha, her voice tinged with worry, spoke up again. "Not only Rajeev. Ram and Gowthami went to the jungle with him. I'm worried about all of them."

The villagers exchanged anxious glances, the gravity of the situation deepening. "We need to go back into the jungle," one of the younger villagers insisted. "We can't leave them out there."

" We must track him down."

" Yes."

" Let's return to the forest."

Radha's voice was worried as Rajeev went with Gowthami and Ram.

"Oh my gosh, are those children secure in the bush or did they come into any dangerous animals?"

The villagers are anxious about Rajeev and his buddies and are talking among themselves about them.

Before anyone could move, a police officer arrived on the scene, his flashlight cutting through the night. "What's going on here?" he asked, noting the tension among the group.

"Rajeev, Ram, and Gowthami are missing in the jungle," explained one of the villagers. "We need to go find them."

"Don't worry" , police added; " our crew will search for them in the forest, and you folks should now go back to your separate residences."

However, the people preferred to return to the forest and look for Rajeev there instead of going back.

The officer shook his head firmly. "I'm sorry, but I can't allow that. It's too dangerous right now. There's been a report of a tiger roaming the area. It's not safe to go into the jungle at night."

A collective gasp rose from the villagers, their worry escalating. "But we can't just leave them out there," one of the villagers protested. "They could be in danger."

The officer raised a hand to calm the group. "I understand your concern, but we have to think rationally. My team and I will go in search of Rajeev and the others first thing in the morning. We'll be better equipped to handle any threats, including the tiger."

Radha's face was pale, her eyes pleading. "Please, you have to find them. They mean everything to us."

The officer nodded solemnly. "We'll do everything we can to bring them back safely. I promise you that."

After much deliberation with the locals, the policeman was able to get them returned to their homes. Subsequently, a few officers went into the woods to look for the missing persons.

With heavy hearts, the villagers reluctantly agreed to wait until morning. The officer left to prepare his team, and the villagers dispersed, many heading home to wait anxiously for news. Radha remained at the mansion, her worry deepening with every passing minute.

The night seemed endless, the darkness outside a constant reminder of the unknown dangers lurking in the jungle. Radha could only hope that Rajeev, Ram, and Gowthami were safe, finding solace in their courage and resourcefulness.

Meanwhile, in the jungle, Rajeev, Gowthami, and Ram were unaware of the growing concern back home. They huddled together, finding strength in their unity, ready to face whatever the night might bring. The bond they shared and the adventures they endured had made them resilient, but they knew they had to stay vigilant until they could find their way back.

As dawn approached, the villagers gathered again, their determination renewed. They watched as the police set out on their mission, prayers and hopes following them into the jungle, yearning for the safe return of their loved ones.

Once they had settled inside the dark chamber, the tension from the forest still lingering in the air, Gowthami mumbled softly, "Rajeev, I'm famished," her hand instinctively squeezing her belly. Rajeev, always prepared for moments like this, was grateful he had packed a few snacks before they ventured into the dense forest. He never trekked through the thick foliage without carrying some refreshments.

Without hesitation, Rajeev swung his backpack around, quickly rummaging through it until he found a few fruits and some munchies. "Here, take a few," he said, offering them to Gowthami.

She grabbed them immediately, the hunger evident in her eyes as she began to eat. Each bite seemed to bring her a little comfort, the small but nourishing snacks taking the edge off her hunger. The room was quiet, save for the sound of Gowthami's soft chewing, as Rajeev watched her with a faint smile, relieved that they were safe, at least for the moment.

When Ram spotted her dine contentedly, he pondered her earlier action during her duel with the wolves.

'Who is this strange female that Rajeev brought with him, and he's about to be married to her?'

Ram is staring at Gowthami, so she inquired, "Are you hungry? Would you like some?" after seeing. She gave him an offer of some food.

When Ram became cognizant again, he questioned, "Who are you?"
