Shui Yi walks down the stairs of the building's cafe magic. A cafe she often visits.
She notices the sound of someone walking behind; she turned back only to find empty stairs. It was late at night, and Cafe, which belongs to her friend, is long closed; they spent some time in there after working hours. It's unusual to sense a person's presence behind her, as no one was at the cafe at this time of the night. And this is a no-night café.
Shui Yi's senses are undoubtedly right almost all the time. If a person was truly behind her, why is it that he/she had to hide?
She needs confirmation before jumping to conclusions. If there's one thing she'd have to worry about, it'd be avoiding a person following her to her house.
Instead of going to the parking lot, Shui Yi crossed the road just in case a person was following her. This was not the first time she felt someone else's presence when she was the only one there. Almost every time she was at the cafe, she always felt the same presence. Now would be the best chance to confirm if someone is on to her.
| Steps approaching |
There it is. She indeed was being followed.
Please don't be a guy, she thought.
Please don't be a guy, she repeated. And she shut her ears with earpods, taking a glimpse sideways in the mirror of the shop near her. A guy in a hoodie is following her with a camera in his hands around his neck.
"Damn it. " She groaned.
Shui Yi walked into the streets aimlessly, unaware of where she was headed in the dark night street lights. She followed the lights, increasing her pace in futile attempts to lose the guy stalking her.
As she paced, so did the man.
If there is one thing Shui Yi could avoid, that would be contact with the man. The only way to avoid contact is by running. How long can she run?
She walks faster and faster and faster and faster until her pace is the same as running. The man kept up and started to run too. Shui Yi ran faster than the man because she was a trained athlete. Although from farther away the man continued to follow her, if this continued any more, he would follow Shui Yi to her house, one of many things she didn't want people to find out. Shui Yi kept her residence a secret, even from her family. She definitely can't lead a stranger, especially a stalker!!, straight to her house. After all, his motives are still unknown.
Shui Yi's desperate running got her lost in the streets, streets she had never before visited, far from the cafe where she parked her car. She halted to take a look around, unaware that it would put her in more trouble.
Neon lights in the streets caught her sight; the place is glittering with all kinds of lights, the vibe of a party everywhere in its surroundings. People both young and old are going in late at night, this place's busiest hours. That's a pub for you.

Thump |
Shui Yi's alcohol-sensitive nose caught the smell of alcohol. Another thing Shui Yi would want to avoid, seeing and smelling during a flight, caught her attention already. Here it is an opening for the terror and fears of the past she is unaware of to overwhelm her.
The man is running towards her from a distance.

| Shui Yi Hyperventilating|
Thump |
Not now?!!
Shui Yi gripped her breasts tightly along with her clothing in agony. Her face turned red and her body was sweating, her lips quivering as the cold breeze of the night disturbed her hair; she struggled to catch her breath. Shui Yi threw herself against the wall, with all the remaining strength left, and with her back against the wall, she slid down to her butt to sit, her lower body supported by the ground, as her body trembled. Her legs have no strength left; in pain and agony as a woman labors, her body aches, paralyzed. Futile attempts to move Shui Yi struggle to breathe and are ready to fall into a coma at any moment.
Thump |
No, no, no.
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
I'm losing consciousness.
No
Thump |
| LUB DUB | heart pounding, Shui Yi starts to hear her own heartbeat in that silent, calm night.
It started.
Shui Yi closed her eyes in disappointment and gave in to the fate of that night's terror, that night eight years ago, which changed her way of living forever.
The man approached, seeing Shui Yi in a coma. He called to her, "Hey!!!" And gave a pat on her shoulder.
| LUB |
| DUB |
I can't give in.
I can't let fears overtake me.
Not now.
Not today.
| LUB |
I have a promise to keep.
| DUB |
I have a dream.
Thump |
| Thud |
With very little consciousness left, Shui Yi gathered all the strength she had and hit her head against the wall, resulting in an injury to her head a little above and very close to her right ear, caused by the thump she gave herself, which was directed to her right side.
"Oh, wow!!"
The man's jaw dropped at Shui Yi's act. "Oh, oh, ouch!!" Well, obviously! That was unexpected.
Finally!! I'm conscious! Shui Yi's lips curled wide into a smile. A feat with an unknown result worked out well, with a severe price to pay, but Shui Yi would say a risk worth it. Her head starts bleeding.
| Thud |
While the man was looking around, watching out for people, Shui Yi grabbed his hand and threw him down to the ground.
"Ah….!!!!!!" The man wails, lying on the ground.
"I can't feel my back!" He shouts, tossing to the right and left, his hand placed on the back, facing Shui Yi; he wails louder. "YOU! YOU!!!"
Shui Yi runs from the place.
She finally escaped from the streets and reached the bridge by the seashore.
|panting |
Shui Yi's wound is acting up.
As she walks, her head feels dizzy, and she kneels down on the road and puts her into the railing of the bridge.
"Ack"
"Ack"
She vomits into the sea through the railing.
"Ack"
"Ewe," says a passerby.
"Miss! Are you okay?" Asks another person
"WHAT?" Shui Yi yells at the man, turning towards him with her head still in the railing; her turning exposes the wound to the man.
"Sorry, ma'am! Nothing "same person leaves frightened.
Uh! Shui Yi sighs.
How did it come to this? She pulls her head out!
The wound kept her from losing consciousness, but it is dangerous to leave an injury to the head unattended; it's a huge bruise bleeding. Too much bleeding would be bad.
Shui Yi should go to a hospital as soon as possible.
Uh!
