"Don't you dare call my mother a traitor! You have no evidence to back up that claim!" Arius retorted defiantly, ignoring the glare from Archmage Alistair. He was prepared to face whatever consequences his words might bring.
"We all know you framed her just to steal that position from her!" he accused, jabbing a finger towards the Archmage's seat. The five of us stifled a laugh, not wanting to offend the Archmage, but damn, Arius is blunt as hell!
"Arius, enough! Show some respect to the Archmage!" Aurinia snapped sharply, attempting to silence him. But it was too late, the damage has been done.
Archmage Alistair gracefully rose from her golden throne-like chair and descended the steps of the dais, her flowing robe billowing around her. Slowly approaching us, her scrutinizing gaze swept over each of us, her silver-grey hair cascading elegantly down her back, adding more allure to her regal presence.
