Still holding my wrist tightly, Ethan hovered his left hand over the cut on my wrist, causing it to close back and return to its original state.
He swatted my hand away and moved slightly away from me, leaving me bewildered.
Bro just healed me with magic? Iconic!
"What blood contract are you talking about?" I asked timidly with furrowed brows, only God knows what he's on about.
Ethan brushed his fringe behind his ear and casually plopped onto the bed, laying on his back, his attention fixated once again on the fashion magazine. Ignoring my question, his imposing demeanor remained aloof.
My gaze wandered across the room and landed on the fashion magazine in his delicate fingers. Why was he so engrossed with it? This piqued my interest, and for the first time since I stepped into the room, I gazed intensely at the cover.
Something caught my attention, prompting me to yank away the magazine from him for a closer look.
As I flipped through the glossy pages of the magazine, my breath caught in my throat as I beheld Ethan's image staring back at me. His chiseled features were illuminated by a soft ethereal glow, casting shadows that accentuated the contours of his jawline and the intensity of his gaze.
Wow! Cute is an understatement, his beauty is heavenly, too handsome for his own good, I thought, unable to tear my eyes away.
I know I can't stare at him that much for real even though he's just a few inches away from me, so I took this chance to glare at him as I please.
Unable to resist, I allowed myself to openly admire him, knowing he was just a few inches away. He's not just the demon lord, he's also a supermodel? God, this is too much, I mused inwardly, feeling overwhelmed.
As I traced the lines of his sculpted physique with my eyes, a flutter stirred in my chest, and a churning sensation settled below my belly button.
"You can have it," he breathed in a low tone, his voice jolting me out of my reverie. I tore my gaze away from the glossy pages of the magazine, only to find his heavenly body slightly wrapped in the duvet, his blue eyes glaring innocently at me.
This guy should be sentenced for being this handsome. How am I supposed to cope with living with such a man? This won't be as easy as it was with my ex-fiance. I'm not sure I can continue resisting him. Maybe one day I'll fall for his temptation.
"Have what?" I finally drawled, taking my eyes away shyly from his slightly exposed chest, temptation everywhere. How much more is he going to torture me in the future?
"Since you are so obsessed with my blinding beauty, and you can't seem to get enough of it, you can have the magazine. You're gonna need it while touching yourself later tonight," he shrugged softly with a naughty smirk and then wrapped his entire body inside the duvet like a little child.
"Touch myself? I don't do that!" I blurted out, feeling my entire face flush with embarrassment.
"I don't care! Scram!" he growled angrily at me, and I could tell from his tone that he's kinda annoyed.
Seriously? This type of pride won't get you anywhere in life, my dear demon lord, I sulked inwardly and rolled my eyes mentally.
"It got me here, young lady. I'm the richest man in Faeloria, you forgot? I need some quiet, so scram!" his sinful voice growled under the duvet, and reluctantly I scurried out of his chambers with the magazine clutched tightly against my chest, wondering how much more I can cope with someone listening to my thoughts and reading my mind.
My book! The answer is in it. I should go back to that field and look for it. But how?
I stepped outside the castle and I was bewildered. Holy moly! How many cars does he own? I screamed in my head when my eyes fell on the multitudes of luxury cars parked everywhere in the large sprawling estate.
"It's dinner time, would you like to have dinner with the lord?" a tiny voice from nowhere interrupted my thoughts. It was a very beautiful young maid, and from her look, I could tell she's a mermaid. I remember her; she's Aurora Pearls, the friendly mermaid from my book.
A cute smile graced her heart-shaped face, her aura calming and friendly.
"I'll eat later, Rora. Can you help me with something?" I asked, flashing her a lopsided smile that didn't last a second. I saw the surprise etched on her face when I mentioned her name, and I guess I was right. Steve Irwin didn't change everything in my book. Knowing this gave me a sense of relief, and I let out a deep sigh.
"What is that, my lady?" she drawled and bowed slightly.
"You can call me Kimberly; I'm not your lady," I fired rudely at her. Calling me "my lady" is an insult to me. I'm not sleeping with him, you idiot! Well, maybe later, but not yet though!
"I'm sorry, how may I help you, Kimberly?" she asked.
I described the field to her in detail, and to my gladness, she knew where I was talking about. I asked if she could take me there, but she wore a reluctant look on her face.
"I can't. I'm not allowed to leave the estate without the pass. Only Madame Oreao has access to it, and that place is the border between the Bloodmoon pack and the Silverwolf pack. They are rivals, and any creature caught there is either captured or killed. I'll advise you to remove the thought of going there from your mind. It's dangerous. If anything happens to you, the lord will kill me!" she sputtered, her voice tinged with fear, and her body trembling slightly.
Why is she so scared of Ethan?
"Alright, Here, please keep this in my room," I ordered, handing over the magazine to her. She received it and vanished around a corner. I liked her. Tomorrow morning, I'll ask Ethan to give her to me as my personal maid. But for now, I should find a way to sneak out of this place.
Thankfully, I know where I'm going now—the border between Bloodmoon and Silverwolf pack.
Just as I was devising means of escape, I saw the estate gate swing open widely, revealing a sleek black car approaching.
The car zoomed in and parked at a corner. Emerging from the car is a tall, lanky-looking guy with blonde hair and blue eyes like that of Ethan, though there's a slight difference.
I remembered him from the house of pleasure; he's one of Ethan's men but he stayed behind while Ethan and I left. He walked briskly to the trunk and began to rummage through it as if looking for something. I glanced at the gate and noticed it's still wide open.
Seizing the golden opportunity, I scurried out of the estate quietly, making sure the lanky guy didn't see me escape.
