With this statement from Fate, Lucas was immediately cast into the pits of despair.
When Lucas regained consciousness, he found himself in Fate's new office at Shadow Spire Citadel.
His subordinate teachers were tied up with heavy chains behind him. In the other room, he could see the guards and a couple of beautiful women.
Stepping on their bones as they did, distinct cracking noises of bones breaking could be heard.
"Ahh, help us, Lucas!" The teachers cried, but then Ruby walked into the room with blood all over her maid outfit, making Lucas shudder from the source of that blood.
Then Ruby closed the door behind her, cutting off the men's screams.
Fate warned those losers that it was a bad idea to try and threaten him. With someone like Ruby around, don't even dream about touching him.
As for the fact that Ruby is covered in a suspicious amount of blood, Fate, as usual, just ignored this as he felt the less he knew, the better.
As an extremely paranoid and prepared individual, Fate always knows when to turn a blind eye. And this time is no exception to that rule.
Ruby proceeded to stand behind Fate with an intimidating look on her face.
"Well, let's get down to the brass tacks. Your academy owes me about two million gold in unpaid taxes from the last one hundred and fifty years of operation. Bloomspire Academy is renting that land from me, after all. But it seems I've never bothered to collect your rent for that land either. We can deal with that issue after your back taxes are paid back."
Lucas looked at Fate Grimsever with a constipated look on his face. This young man is definitely a merciless tyrant.
With this in mind, Lucas spoke carefully.
"Lord Fate, I assume you are aware that our school is subsidized from nations all over the continent of Vale. So it's not that easy to simply turn over such a large sum of money like that. Many other nations might have something to say about you extorting Bloomspire Academy."
Fate smiled at this statement. What aid from other countries? The majority of their aid comes from his family.
These old shits have way more than two million gold stored away in their vaults.
That damn school is so stingy, making nobles live in dorms. How can they not pocket centuries' worth of wealth?
"Lucas, don't give me that shit. You are in charge of admissions, so all of the money that comes into that school goes through your office. Now you can either pay this money or I can simply take the interest from your body until you do. You will have plenty of time to think about it."
Lucas Limpton replied.
"The academy does not have the money to pay you. You don't have to come to school. But it's best not to blow this incident out of proportion further."
Fate could only smile at this old man's ability to brush off his demands. But this is what he wanted to happen.
"OK then, you can pay your first amount of interest today. Ruby, go ahead and break his arm, then throw out this trash."
Ruby smiled and then took Lucas by his arm out of the room. When the door closed, Fate thought he heard a blood-curdling scream. But it must have been a figment of his imagination.
Then, when Ruby took Lucas out into the hall, she grabbed his arm and, with a bit of Phoenix Fire imbued in her hands, shattered every bone in the man's hands.
Ruby figured that Fate wanted this guy to be able to heal himself at the church. But she would not make it so easy for him.
The Phoenix Fire would prevent it from being able to be healed, thus prolonging the pain indefinitely. This was just the start of this man's suffering; he still needs to pay his debt for threatening her master.
