Chapter 28 - Feeling bolder

I walked alongside Valendor as he worked his magic, quite literally, on the surrounding gardens of my palace. The sun beat down on us relentlessly, but my large hat provided some respite from its harsh rays. Valendor, with a mere wave of his hand, caused flowers to bloom and weeds to wither and die.

In my floor-length floral dress, I observed Valendor's skilled movements with admiration. The designer of this dress would certainly receive a generous check from me; it blended perfectly with the aesthetic of this world while allowing me the freedom of movement I desired.

As we strolled through the gardens, Valendor reached into a small pouch and pulled out a batch of seeds. With practiced precision, he scattered them across the flower beds, each seed finding its place in the rich soil.

Three hours later, Valendor stepped back to admire his handiwork, and I couldn't help but join him. The gardens now held a vibrant array of colors and scents, teeming with life in a way they hadn't before. My palace had a new sense of vitality and beauty, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness at the sight.

After admiring Valendor's handiwork in the gardens, I made my way back inside the palace. Climbing the stairs to the drawing room, I sought out a clearer view of the lush greenery outside. The room provided a perfect vantage point, with large windows that framed the blooming flowers and swaying trees.

As I stood there, lost in the beauty of the scene before me, Stacy entered with a tray of pastries. The sweet aroma of freshly baked treats filled the room, and I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

Deciding to indulge myself a bit, I settled into a plush chair in the room. I reached for one of the pastries, savoring its delicate flavors as I lounged comfortably. The soft cushions enveloped me, and I closed my eyes briefly, enjoying the moment of tranquility.

It wasn't long before Valendor joined me, his presence filling the room. With his long, flowing blonde hair and casual attire, he exuded a relaxed yet elegant air. He wore a crisp white shirt, a few buttons left open at the collar, paired with simple brown slacks. I couldn't help but notice the slight change in his usual attire, and I couldn't resist teasing him about it.

"Valendor, what's with the open shirt? Has Kai been giving you fashion advice?" I quipped, a playful smile tugging at my lips.

Valendor chuckled, a warm sound that filled the room. "I suppose I've been influenced by his sense of style," he replied, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "But I assure you, it's purely for comfort."

I nodded, taking another bite of the pastry. "Well, you certainly look comfortable," I remarked, gesturing to his attire. "And it suits you, I must say."

As I lounged comfortably in the chair, Valendor joined me, propping my feet on his lap. He brought out the tray of pastries he had prepared the day before, offering them to me with a warm smile.

"I hope you love these," he said, feeding me another pastry. The way he fed me one after another, it seemed like he was determined to fatten me up. But I didn't mind, the pastries were delicious and his attentiveness was endearing.

"Why aren't you eating your creations?" I asked between bites, gesturing to the untouched pastries on the tray.

"I find more joy in seeing you enjoy them," Valendor replied, his eyes filled with a mixture of amusement and affection.

"Well, suit yourself then," I said with a playful smile, leaning back into the chair and letting him feed me.

As I savored the pastries, Valendor's presence beside me felt comforting and familiar. We fell into a comfortable rhythm, with him feeding me and us exchanging light conversation. But there was an underlying tension in the air, a palpable energy that seemed to thicken with each passing moment.

Suddenly, Valendor's gaze shifted, his eyes focusing on my lips. I followed his gaze, wondering what had caught his attention. He leaned towards me, his proximity sending a shiver down my spine. His long blonde hair cascaded around us like a curtain, enveloping us in a private cocoon.

"You have a little something here," Valendor said softly, his thumb brushing against my lower lip. My breath caught in my throat as his touch sent a jolt of electricity through me.

"What?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Without a word, Valendor leaned in closer until our lips were mere inches apart. The tension between us was thick, the air charged with anticipation. I could feel the heat of his breath against my skin, and my heart raced in my chest.

Then, with a gentle and deliberate movement, Valendor pressed his lips against mine. It was a soft and tentative kiss at first, testing the waters. But as the moment stretched on, the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate and intense.

I melted into the kiss, my hands finding their way to his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat beneath my fingertips. The world around us faded away, leaving only the sensation of his lips on mine, the taste of sweetness from the pastries lingering between us.

When we finally pulled apart, our breaths mingling in the air, I was left breathless and dizzy with desire. Valendor's eyes met mine, his gaze filled with longing and something more.

Feeling bolder, due to the rush of desire coursing through me, I wrap my arms around Valendor's neck and pull him closer, bringing his lips to mine once more.

Valendor responds with more fervour, trying to devour me whole, his arms find themselves moving to my waist pulling me closer.
