Chereads / The Fatum / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Constance closed her eyes tightly, as she could hear the muffled screams of her teammates. Once a sudden thud was hard, she opened her eyes. Only for her eyes were immediately stung by dust.

Tch—!!

Constance quickly covered her eyes using her arm before getting up, trying to see through the dust even though it was roaming around the area.

But once the dust finally cleared, she could see Shibata floating down elegantly. As if nothing had happened. But the missing sight of Seong only caused Constance panic.

"What the hell…"

Constance mumbled.

"Angry now? It was truly a pity that she couldn't make it."

"You had no right to do so anyways!"

"Only determination leads to such reckless decisions."

"Yet—"

"Cockiness leads to your downfall."

"!!!!"

Shibata quickly turned her head to her left as Constance had done the same. The voice of Seong had become a bit deeper and even colder. As the dust began to clear, it revealed Seong's darkened silhouette. Her staring became intimidating.

"How the— How are you still alive!?"

"Guess I got a god on my side."

A god—? Constance thought.

"You must be a liar… yet you're standing right there…"

The moment Shibata made eye contact with Seong, she was already seen in front of her. Her eyes widened in shock as Shibata was immediately struck back, causing her to slide back.

"This little—!"

Shibata would knee down into a crouching position as a bright white circle would form underneath her.

However, Seong's speed had already massively increased. Her figure was circling around Shibata as she was waiting for anything to happen from her.

"…Thievery of Mind."

Shibata mumbled.

The bright red circle that had formed underneath her would suddenly spread a bright white light before connecting like a dome. Trapping Seong and even herself in.

A dome huh…

She thought.

Seong would look up, seeing dozens of white bullets suddenly form. Meanwhile next to her was the same purple aura that had always sent her a message.

[Dodge the bullets. They will s t e a l your mind if you fail.]

Seong would suddenly smirk with pure confidence.

Bet.

As soon as the message disappeared, the white bullets had already gone flying all around the dome, continuously bouncing off the barrier when it didn't hit Seong while she dodged the bullets.

Seong quickly flipped away from the rapid bullets, dodging as much as possible. Yet, as the bouncing bullets were becoming endless, her stamina was rapidly decreasing.

Hm… I need to find a pattern.. Just a single pattern!

Seong would continue dodging the bullets as a small drop of sweat ran down her face and her breathing became a bit heavy. However she was determined to not even think about taking a step down, desperately looking around for any opening or pattern.

But in the corner of her eye, she finally found it. Seong could see a small bright light appear on the barrier, only for the bullet to hit the light and quickly bounce off.

These bullets are guided by light… isn't it.

Seong's eyes quickly observed the dome, seeing the flashing bright lights before the bullets had struck it and immediately bounced off for another attempt.

Now realizing the key, Seong quickly dashed away to the side of the barrier that had the less flashing lights. Being able to quickly dodge the bullets much more easily without another behind her back.

As Seong quickly recovered her stamina, she would look up. Only to see the bullets being aimed towards her at a rapid speed. Barely able to react, Seong quickly lifted up the broken bladed katana and clashed with the white bullets.

Once the bullets clashed with her katana, Seong was immediately pushed back from how much pressure the bullets were pushing.

Yet keeping her guard, she pushed back as much as she could.

I can't give up now… This battle will only mean nothing to any of us! Just… keep… pushing pressure!!

"Seong!"

A familiar voice cried out. Seong quickly snapped as she looked behind. Yet the scenery seemed to immediately change into a bright white void.

However, standing in front of Seong was a woman who wore white. The only thing that stood out to her was her long pink hair.

"…"

"I shall give you… my Fatum Core. Salvator."

"Salvator… A Fatum Core?!"

"Yes indeed. Now use it with your heart… and embrace the purpose that you were made for."

Seong would close her eyes, feeling the heavy weight of the white bullets suddenly fade as a bright pink colored orb had suddenly formed in front of her chest.

The sudden increase of energy alarmed Shibata, looking straight at Seong.

That energy… a Fatum Core?!

Seong finally opened her eyes, glowing fully pink as her katana would burst into pink flames. Rebuilding the blade into a brand new katana.

!!! That core is from… a deceased Grand Authority?! No… NO!!

Shibata would quickly dash towards Seong, even though she knew the consequences. But all Shibata wanted was to avoid letting Seong activate the mysterious core.

However, Shibata's approach caused Seong to lift the katana up. The white bullets disintegrated into dust, while the pink flame around her katana only extended massively.

"Salvator… The Deed of FREEDOM!"

Seong yelled, dashing towards Shibata as a bright light would flash. Shattering the dome as it shook the place while a wave of smoke would rush past Constance and her members.

But as the smoke had cleared and the light had faded, Seong was seen behind Shibata. Facing away from her as Shibata had a pink colored slash wound.

"What the…" Shibata would slowly feel her face.

Everything had become soft for her. Yet she couldn't even trace a single pain on her shoulder.

What did she…

Seong would slowly turn her head to Shibata, glancing at her slightly.

"The Chasm Manifestation is no more…"

Seong mumbled.

Shibata would slowly look at Seong. But instead of reacting in anger, a tear slowly formed in her eyes before being released.

The feeling of peace… caused Shibata to shed tears.

Huh… you really are something… but this feeling… this feeling of…

A feeling I've always desired to have before…
