Chapter 38 - tales of a demigod

The world had many stories of hero's, gods and demons.

But the most famous stories in mythology, were those of Demigods.

Remenents of the gods living alongside the mortals on the earth.

They were mortal just like them, but they were also stronger faster and smarter than them.

They lived long lived sometimes 5 or 6 times as long as them.

They had money power and looks.

Some even ascend to godhood.

Just like Theseus, who Deimos slayed in the Minoan ruins.

He was the son of Poseidon, conceived in another freak adventure of the demons.

Because of his bloodline he was capable of surviving for hundreds of years imprisoned, and the only sustainable food source was the Minotaurs remains.

And like most demigods he got stronger with age.

Making him swift enough to behead Deimos with his rune sword.

Most demigods in this world were descendants of low ranking demons.

But there are exceptions.

Beings who truely deserve the title of gods.

They may not be able to hold a candle with their Creator, but they stood high and mighty above the rest.

They were appointed to keep the universe functional and monitor any problems.

They too left behind descendants before their fall.

While their bloodline has degraded and witherd there were a few remenents remaining.

And nobody would have guessed that one of those withered family branches, remains in a isolated sealed world.

Leonidas was standing before Athens gates.

They slowly opend, binging with them soldiers and Athens ruling champion.

The eyes of Leonidas constrict he felt a strong bloodline emanating from the champion.

He came to a agreement with Athens, if he could defeat their champion they would willingly surrender.

Avoiding much bloodshed and starvation.

But is their champion won Sparta had too retreat and give Athens five years of peace.

They already gave up the idea of capturing Sparta's prince.

They underestimated Sparta's horror and might.

They still thought it was the old devided Sparta, but everything was centralized, power money and talent was all under the Agiad family rule.

They could only hope for respite while searching for new allies capable of resisting Sparta.

Codrus a acient king of Athens who had hidden himself for a very long time.

For the first time in 500 years he had been called out of his tomb.

He rode a chariot to the battlefield.

He was the last king of Athens, and he should not have had to come out of his tomb.

Codrus sighed he looked at his opponent, a mighty warrior indeed.

He had no confidence in his capacity to win this fight.

Still he had to sacrifice himself for Athens sake again.

Getting of the chariot the demigod stepped on the dry rocky flat ground.

The heat simmers in the air, creating ripples the spectating armies.

Both sides kept a distance of more than 30 Meters from each other.

Leonidas was sizing up his opponent.

He knew that this fight would not be easy but far from impossible.

Codrus opend his mouth, "Leonidas I have heard a lot about you, to be honest I am honoured to fight you."

"Your tales are spread far and wide, not only did you overthrow the governmental structure of Sparta you have a two monsters for son's too."

Leonidas chuckles, "you are right my son's are really a couple of monsters."

"But what business does a long dead king of Athens have in the conflict of the living."

The king known as Codrus had already died 500 years ago in order to stop the Oracle of Athens downfall.

The men standing before Leonidas was nothing more than a husk of the former demigod.

"Well Athena asked for a favor, to fight against you for Athens."

"I had nothing to do in Elysium so I decided to lend a hand."

Leonidas frowned.

"You know that is against the agreement, and this will not spell well for your judgement."

The royal Spartan family had some secret text pertaining information about the afterlife and the underlying rules.

" I know but I can't just leave Athens in the lurge"

The mummified body of the acient king sounded.

Even with his frighting looks and raspy voice the Spartan soldiers didn't flinch back.

They had full confidence in their king.

"I see, as long as you know the consequences" Leonidas said.

"Well shall we begin our duel then."

"As you wish."
