"They are quite aesthetically pleasing."
Observing the Banshees, Jason offered his first impression.
It must be said, these Banshees looked quite appealing, if one could overlook the dark, oppressive aura of death they brought with them...
Each of these Banshees was exceptionally beautiful, with impressive figures, adorned in gossamer barely concealing their privates.
He could even see the droplets formed by undead energy slowly tracing across their firm breasts…
"Tsk, tsk, tsk."
"This segment, if posted on MeTube, might just get my account banned."
Jason reflected, then began to review the attributes of his first squad of soldiers.
[Banshee]
[Tier: 4-tier]
[Race: undead]
[Level: 1]
[HP: 500/500]
[Attack: 300]
[Defense: 100]
[Magic Resistance: 200]
[Speed: 180]
[Food Consumption: 0]
Skills:
[Soulform]: As special spectral beings, Banshees can ignore all physical damage and launch unique possession attacks, merging into the souls of other beings, lying dormant or causing mental harm.
[Agonizing Wail]: Banshees unleash a special sonic attack, inflicting continuous psychic damage and a fear effect lasting four seconds within a 20-meter radius.
Description: It is said that only the most pure maidens, transformed under extreme agony, can become these spectral beings.
They are constantly tormented by cold pain and anger, obeying only their creator [Jason].
As undead entities, Banshees do not require food.
…
"Strong indeed!"
Jason nodded in satisfaction.
In terms of base attributes, from what he remembered in his past life, Banshees had relatively low HP and defense, but their attack power and speed were superior to other 4-tier units.
Moreover, the key was the strength of their two skills.
The first skill allowed immunity to physical damage and the launching of special possession attacks.
It might not be overly overpowered, but it certainly was a low-level player's nightmare, given that early-stage units mostly deal physical damage.
As for the second skill, combining damage with crowd control, it was undoubtedly a godsend for pioneering new areas.
"Truly worthy of being a hidden unit."
Jason was in high spirits; this quest was a massive win for him.
In the unit classification of Divine Age, tiers 1 to 3 are considered low-level units, and advancing to 4-tier elevates them to mid-level units.
The former can only possess one skill, while the latter can have an additional skill.
This meant the benefits brought by his talent leveling up three tiers were enormous this time.
What excited him even more was possibly the early completion of the quest.
The hidden unit that emerged during the upgrade process possessed immunity to physical damage...
This meant that even some early-stage bosses couldn't harm Jason's Banshees at all!
How fast would his development and snowballing be??
"I might even have a chance at snatching the world boss's first kill!"
He pondered; the boss of Losfall was already seen as an easy target for Jason, but he hadn't initially considered aiming for a world first kill.
Because that was exceedingly difficult.
In Divine Age, the first kill of a boss or the first completion of a dungeon comes with extra rewards.
Jason, with over twenty years of memories, knew this, and so did many governmental and family powers on Earth.
Originally, the world's first boss kill was supposed to be claimed just over three hours post-launch by House Vanderroth, using tens of thousands of players to forcefully take it down.
As for the reward, it was well-kept secret, and Jason had no clue what it was.
His plan initially required some time to develop before he could face the boss solo, but now, with the physical damage-immune Banshees, the game had changed!
Early-stage bosses in the game that dealt purely physical damage were not many, but near Losfall, there happened to be one!
And it was right near this very church!
With that in mind, Jason didn't hesitate.
With a wave of his hand, 200 Banshees swiftly surged into the [Realm of Heimdall] within his brow, and he stepped out, pushing open the church doors for what seemed like the umpteenth time.
...
"Hey, um, hello?"
"Wait, please don't go jumping off again, I…"
What puzzled Jason was that, despite merely leaving the church, which should have been a straightforward action, the NPC in the white suit somehow rushed over, looking incredibly surprised.
But, I don't have time for your antics.
He vanished once more with a lean forward.
[Featherfall]
Leaping off the cliff!
His figure turned into a fleeting shadow.
Meanwhile, the NPC in the white suit stood at the edge of the cliff, his expression blank.
...
Rock Gorge, located just outside the city of Losfall, is the largest map area with countless hidden quests and monsters, apart from the earlier quest to rescue the herbalist.
There's also a circuit quest.
The final reward reveals a piece of information: within the sheer cliffs of Rock Gorge, there's a hidden mountain path leading to a hollow cave at its deepest point, where a Rock Titan lies dormant.
As an entry-level boss, the Rock Titan is by no means an easy challenge.
It boasts extremely high defense and resilience, particularly against physical damage, which poses a significant problem since most low-tier units can only inflict such damage.
The boss's only weakness is that it relies solely on brute force in combat, possesses no non-physical attacks, and has very low resistance to psychic damage.
However, by the time players can inflict psychic damage, they typically possess some high-tier units and wouldn't be interested in the rewards from such a basic boss.
Consequently, inexperienced players who painstakingly conquer the Rock Titan often end up posting about it on forums, only to be mocked by veteran players.
Don't ask how Jason knows this so well—he was one of those unlucky ones mocked in the past.
However, for the current Jason, this boss is all "advantages."
His Banshees can hit it, and the Rock Titan can hardly fight back.
Moreover, as it's a special boss found only after completing a quest, there's no need to clear out lesser monsters on the way, saving a lot of time.
Having fought the Rock Titan in his past life, Jason is well aware of its patterns and strategies, ensuring his avatar won't be crushed to death.
All of this becomes Jason's greatest asset in competing for the world boss's first kill!
Therefore, at this moment, he is in a hurry!
...
[Died]
The bright red letters appeared on the screen once again.
There's no other way; reaching the middle section of the cliff to enter the cave, relying solely on [Featherfall], was still challenging.
For this reason, Jason had to die another dozen times or so.
Fortunately, ten minutes later.
Thud.
Jason's rapidly falling body suddenly halted as one of his arms clung onto a crevice in the rock, then with a slight exertion of force, he pulled himself up, and a deep cave lay before his eyes.
He dove in without hesitation, guided by memories from his past life.
Ignoring all side passages and following the left, left, right, middle sequence, he quickly arrived at the hollow center of the mountain.
Suddenly, the pitch-dark scenery brightened.
Jason looked around; the ceiling of the hollow area was adorned with many small rocks twinkling with milky white luminescence, while straight ahead was a large boulder, seemingly harmonious in its placement.
Of course, Jason knew that just a few steps forward would trigger the boulder to erupt violently, transforming into the Rock Titan.
In his past life, his squad had been wiped out by it during their first encounter.
But this time, it was Jason's turn to outsmart the boss.
He waved his hand, and all 200 Banshees took the stage, then—
[Soulform] activated!
All 200 Banshees surged into the boulder ahead like swallows following their leader.
Next, a terrifying psychic force burst forth!
"Roaaarrrrrr!!!!!!"
Agonizing screams emanated from the boulder, which then morphed, extending limbs to stand up forcibly, its surface crumbling away, visibly heavily damaged.
