As Luis ate the power core, he himself was feeling dizzy, and he couldn't walk properly.
"You shouldn't have eaten that" says Henry while panting from the exhaustion. "Me. Want. Strong. Me." Luis replied and tried to keep himself composed, and he did so.
'What is this kid? He looks alright despite eating the power core' Henry said in his thoughts. "Hey kid, the last time I ate one, I threw up and got dizzy but how can you keep yourself composed?" Henry asked. "Me. Need to be strong. Me." As Luis said that, there was no doubt in Henry's mind that this kid, was the one who'll protect him and his family, for he is too weak.
"That's enough, we should a get a move on before many of those monsters shows up" Helena interrupted. And that is true, they could observe the dead of night, in which the most of the monsters will come out of their hiding. Only a couple species of monsters can go out in the open daylight.
"We. Hurry" says Luis. "Luis is right, we have to go" replied Henry with a bit of pain in his voice. "Are you sure? You might not be feeling all too well, and Luis got a couple injuries, and plus he newly ate a power core" Helena was worried about her beloved Henry. But Henry looked at her with assurance and said, "Don't worry about me babe, plus Luis is a strong boy he'll push through, I trust my gut in this" Henry claimed, with that Helena was a little at ease.
As the group finally arrived, the couple saw the weak fortified base that Luis built. "This. Home. Me. And you too" says Luis, ever sounding like a caveman. "This needs a little work" Helena claimed, "Ah, don't worry about it, nothing that we can't handle" Henry replied. "You really gotta stop pushing your body too much" Helena worried. "Yes. Lady friend is right. Man friend must. Rest." Luis uttered with great worry towards Henry.
"Don't worry about it my friend" Henry responded. As the group continued to go inside, the couple was surprised by the sleeping girl that was covered by rocks. "What the hell is this!?" Helena exclaimed, quickly going towards the woman and taking the rocks off. Henry then went to help her out. "Were these warm rocks?" Henry asked. "Yes. Good. Blanket" Luis claimed.
"Well, this is an unfortunate predicament" Helena stated. "Hey, the kid only wanted want he think is what's best for her" Henry retorted her, "I don't know, I just can't imagine someone would do this, but I guess I can understand" she replied.
As the couple took off the rocks, they quickly gave her a blanket, and a wet towel to be put on her forehead and regulate her temperature. "Good thing we got a couple of extra blankets that we brought, isn't that right hel-" before he could finish his sentence, Helena was already at Luis's face telling him the proper way to care for a girl.
"That's how you do it, and I want you to remember it okay!? Am I heard?" Helena exclaimed at Luis. "Me. Understand" Luis answered sincerely. "Good, now we'll wait for her to wake up, for the meantime I like to see you boys fortify our base more, a monster can easily break in, I wonder how it's not been broken yet"
It wasn't actually true, this base was attacked many times, that's why Luis covered the girl with stones. So that the monsters wouldn't notice her. He was lucky the base was still intact, but there was no way to be sure now, monsters can come out any second now, since night time was close Luis knows that sooner or later monsters were gonna come out to get them.
"Luis! Come and take a look" Henry shouted from outside. "What. Friend?" Luis replied, as Luis went out to meet Henry outside, Henry says to him. "Your base is neat and all, but it's not the best one out there, we gotta make it a little stronger" Henry explained to Luis. "We gotta go to work" Henry added.
Luis and Henry got to work, Luis helped with his abnormally strong muscles and carried heavy logs that he and Henry cutted down. "We need big and strong trees for our base, but with this intense cold almost all trees are dead, we gotta find some Japanese maple but that's impossible to find out here, so let's try to find birches"
Luis understood immediately and went oof to try to find some birch wood. Helena was left to guard with the sleeping girl. As Henry and Luis went off, they searched and searched not too far away, they did found birch wood, but not as many as they would've wanted but it would do for now.
"I'm quite proud of our harvest" Henry applaused their hoarding of their birch logs that they got.
"So, is that girl your lover? Maybe sister?" Henry asked Luis. "No. Both. No" Luis simply answered. "So, you just saved her? Why?"
"Friend. When you a bird, and you see another bird. Do you question saving them? No. Kuz they your kin. You. Save your kin. No question" Luis answered. Henry was left with awe and thought to himself. 'This kid is really something'
As they head on home, they noticed it was getting late, this was extremely bad as Helena was left with no one to rely on. Henry and Luis immediately noticed they're predicament. "Oh, no this is bad" uttered Henry. "We. Hurry" Luis responded. Luis and Henry made a break for it, running as fast as they can but they were running out of time.

Back on the base...
Helena was placing and cleaning the room when she suddenly noticed it's turning nighttime.
"Oh, dear it's getting late, when are they planning to go home?" Helena asked herself, clearly worried for her and the boys safety. As she waits nervously the finger of the girl flicks. "Oh, dear"
