These past few days have been a tiring one for me.. I was able to get into S-7 but I still felt like a part of me had been cut off. I got to class ahead of time, although the other students were there but the S-7 members weren't. I took a seat at the back of the class as I didn't want to be attentive today. I needed time to rearrange myself and get a hold of my mojo.
Just as I was about laying my head on my desk, Mrs Connors walked in with a female teacher.
"Good morning students, this is Mrs Annabelle and she's going to be your new substitute teacher for the whole year." She said and gave a short smile.
"I hope you all find her to your liking." She said before leaving the class. I stared in awe because this girl seemed about my age or maybe older. Or maybe her powers wouldn't let her age.
"70% of you don't like math so I'll just be brief on my first day.." she said in a rather hoarse voice.
"We'll talk briefly on the daily life of a superhero." She said and our gaze locked for a while.
"Being a superhero is not'____." And on and on and on she kept talking. Her topic was even more boring than math. The rest of the super 7 didn't show up in class and it was bothersome. I would have to wait till her classes were over before going to check on them.
Luck was on my side, in no time she was done with her presentation and the rest of the class applauded her. The bell rung and we were dismissed. I went to my locker, grabbed my backpack and headed back to my dorm.
___
"You went for lectures??." Tasha yelled as soon as I brought up the topic of them not being in class.
"Y_yes?" Was that like a no-no in the S-7
"You don't attend lectures once you are in the league. We're the next incredible forces just so you know." She said and I was dumbfounded.
"If you don't attend lectures then how will you graduate.?"I asked.
"Who needs graduation to get out of superhero school. Think man, think!" Ryder said in his rather cool voice.
It didn't make sense, in the world we are in today superheroes don't make money from fighting crimes. Then how will they survive.
"Guess what!!!" Aspen walked in with two packages. Nobody replied. Obviously because he'd still spill the beans sooner or later.
"There's a new teacher in this school!" He said as he held his countenance high.
"We know!" Everyone chorused.
"Richard told us." Tasha said.
"Aw man, you keep ruining the surprises." He said and took his seat in-between Tiana and me.
"I got us burgers." He said and dropped the two packages on the floor.
"You mean, Annabelle got us burgers?" Tiana said and closed the book she was reading.
"How'd you know that." Aspen voice lowered.
"Because I can tell when people are lying?__. I thought you already knew that!" She said and scrambled the bags for a burger.
To me, Aspen was the best teacher these people could ever ask for but they keep treating him like he was nothing and he too never really cared. I noticed Eric always had his eyes closed whenever he was with us and he was evenly quiet.
"What's with him?" I asked Aspen in a low voice.
"He can't control his powers. He has the devils eyes and a banshee's mouth and I don't mean the scream type. " He replied with a low voice of his own.
"He can command things with his speech." He concluded.
"I'll be taking you guys on your first mission." Aspen said and stood up.
"Where is that?" Finn asked.
"Where's Monika?" Aspen asked.
"She left." Tiana said, still fixated on her book.
"The team?" Aspen asked.
"No, she left the school to meet her parents." Tiana replied.
"We'll go without her_. Gear up." He said and walked away.
"Wait you mean now?" I asked and he didn't reply again. The others slowly followed behind and I joined them.

It was already night. I alighted from the Limousine, brushed my dusty uniform and walked to join the others who seemed at ease.
"What's the first thing a superhero does once he arrives at an unknown location?" Aspen asked
"I know. Gather Intel?" Tasha quickly answered.
"Thaaats correct." He said holding a thumbs up. "But in a situation like this one_." He pointed to the empty buildings we were walking through.
"__.It's best to make enquires out of your own instincts." He said and halted which made everyone stop. He walked to an abandoned car and took a rest.
"Today will be about TEAMWORK!" he said as though it was something new. We were already a team, why do we need teamwork.
"And from what I've noticed from the past six days, Tiana and Richard have not been in good terms lately and that's more reason why both of them should take this building!" He said and pointed to a four storey building in front of us.
Huh? Just the two of us in this dark alleyway? What happened to teamwork? I was dumbfounded for a moment.
"We are just as good as any other person, right T?" I said and she walked past me and headed for the building. Tch, Annoying.
"Chop chop, we have now till dawn." He giggled.
I slid open the glass door and walked into an empty hallway. I saw a dead body, she had a necklace on. A hoven. I pulled it off her neck and wrapped it around my palm. I walked deep into the house. It was really dark and I could barely see. I took the staircase to the next floor and two minutes into the search and I saw a flash of light approaching me. I strengthened my defense only to see Tiana holding a fireball in her palm. She approached me holding a questioning look.
"What?" She asked in her rather calm voice.
"Oh__. Uh__ uh__ yea, about what Aspen said about us." I said holding my face down.
"Yea? What about it?" She asked.
"I didn't really know we were not in great terms." I said and she gave a light chuckle.
"Don't worry about that, Aspen noticed a change in my mood since after our duel." She said.
I then realized I could bring electricity to the entire building. I stepped back a little and stretched my arms forward right above left and sent electricity to all the energy cores of the building and the entire building was powered up. She turned off her fireball and we both walked to the third floor. Just as we approached the entrance, we heard metal clanking. My hand sizzled and electricity emitted from it. Tiana maintained her normal form and headed for the source of the sound. I followed her slowly as we approached a room and behold an alien, like the one that stabbed my mom in the heart.
My heart raced as I watched my mother die in front of me one last time. My hand sizzled even more and it began to change from blue to red. The building was already vibrating and Tiana could feel the reverse vibes.
"You BASTAAARRD!" my voice roared and I sent a punch to it. The force from the punch was too much for the building to take and it obliterated almost immediately.
I gasped, suspended in the air, thanks to Tiana who was using magic to make me stay suspended. She stared at me in awe as she's never seen me this enraged before.
"That was personal." She said and a tear ran down my eye.
We landed on the ground but Aspen and the others were no longer in the spot we left them.
"Let's regroup, there's more of that in these buildings." She said.
"If they're here then let's kill them all." I insisted.
"Your powers are not one that I can comprehend, I can't say you'd be able to control your feelings, lets meet the others." She said and we both headed forwards.
