Chapter 33 - Transportation Portal

Building up the courage to face the angry Sara. Clark gently taps on her shoulder.

Sara knowingly who it was turned around her facial expression told Clark that he was about to get a long lecture regarding being late.

To his surprise, Sara didn't vent her anger at the late Clark. It wasn't like she let it slide either.

"Why were you late?"

Clark can lie to her or split the truth, the result will come out anyways.

"You know about the incident when my parents disappeared."

"Yeah, what about it?"

"I went there to the place where I last saw my parents"

Sara lightly shook her head multiples with her being in thought. Sara was as if she was thinking about something but it was just a shake of head and expression making the other person think that she was in her thoughts.

"Anyways, what was your idea for calling me here? Did you book a hunter flight?"

Hunter flights are for hunters and hero's only as compared to normal level flights which are for the average human.

Even in hunter flights, there are classes in flights for higher ranked hunters and heroes; the planes are prepared with better facilities unlike any lower rank hunter or hero's.

"No" Clark said, the "no" from Clarks mouth came out with a proud tone.

"Then why did you tell me to come here?"

If they weren't taking a plane then the point of arriving at the airport had no means. Unlike Clark, Sara wasn't all dumbfounded; she knew if they weren't taking a flight then the purpose of coming here could be something else.

"Is somebody coming here?" Sara inquired.

Clark answered with a nod.

"Did someone glue your lips so that you can't speak?"

Sara wasn't having any of it, she gave Clark a serious glare not only that her tone felt heavy.

"I asked you something Clark. If you didn't answer what I asked remember in next five seconds your front teeths will be in my hands"

The threat made Clark fear, not wanting to lose his precious teeths. Clark moved his lips to speak out before he could say the first word of the sentence.

"You both are here"

A similar voice entered their ears. Sara, who wasn't clearly sure whose voice it was, turned to look at the person owning the voice.

It was Kevin, walking up to them with his big steps. He wasn't that far from them and in a matter of seconds he stood next to them.

"Knight guild master?"

Kevin looked at Sara. She was in her thoughts trying to figure out why the knight guild master would be here.

Unlike Sara, Kevin in one go remembers Sara. A miracle And an honour for Sara to get recognised by the one who forgets most of the people.

"You have grown up well"

Dumbfounded, Sara couldn't understand why the guild master of knight guild said such a thing. It only made sense if he knew her.

Grown up well? Does he know me?

For Kevin he has been seeing Sara and Clark from when they were little kids. Afterall, Kevin was the favourite uncle for both.

Then why isn't she able to recognise him? Is it because she hasn't seen him for so long?

"Uncle"

The word "uncle" coming from Clark's mouth made Sara remember about Kevin.

Uncle? Wait… uncle Kevin?

She was stunned and in disbelief. Seeing how changed Kevin was, he was unrecognisable at all.

"Are you uncle Kevin?"

Sara nervously asked, her being nervous was due to her guess could be wrong too. I mean if the person next to her said no how embarrassing it would be calling him uncle.

According to Sara's memories of the past. Kevin was a completely different person. A person who always wears a mask with shyness and has a charmingly nice voice. Not only that but he looked more like a nerd with glasses on.

And the person next to her wasn't looking in any way similar to the past Kevin. Perhaps it could be due to the loss of his sister and brother-in-law.

Kevin glared at her, the atmosphere that was once calming rose making her shoulder feel burdened by heavy gravity.

What's with this feeling?

Sara couldn't keep her eyes in contact with Kevin as her gaze slipped down at the floor.

"Yes," Kevin uttered a single word.

Suddenly all the weight on Sara's shoulder vanished, it wasn't that it just vanished but made her shoulder feel lighter and more relaxing.

"Oh, but you look completely different"

"And does it matters little Niece"

Little Niece?...

Not very pleased with what Kevin called her. It did confirm one thing to Sara that it was really her uncle Kevin.

Because in the past Kevin called her little Niece which she never liked and Clark as nephew.

Clark, who was feeling left out, desired to speak up to be involved in the small chit chat.

"This uncle and niece reunion can be done later. Can we focus on what we have to do?"

"Yes, you're right. Come with me"

Kevin instructed them to follow him, Kevin with the other two walked away from the massive crowd and reached a place with not many people available but just a short amount which aren't even normal people but officers and several hunters and hero's.

Seeing this side of the airport, the first thing that came to Clark and Sara's mind was. Does a place like this exist at airport?

Everyone shifted their eyes on Kevin as he came into their vision. In a rush they made perfect rows and shouted at the same time.

"We welcome the guild master"

Amazed by this, Clark moved closer to Sara and muttered to her.

"I wish I was that popular"

To which she replied, "work hard like uncle Kevin maybe then you might reach closer to him"

"What kind of motivation is this?"

Suddenly, their eyes changed in different direction. A surprised expression formed on their faces.

"Is that a gate?"

The thing that they were witnessing was a portal or in their way of view it could be called a gate. However…

"No, it's a transportation portal. It's used to teleport hunters from one place to another without worrying about wasting to much time"

"When there's an urgent matter we have to use these secret transportation portals"

The transport although not many people know about them. Lesser high rankers or officials know their existence.

The purpose to keep them from the world hidden is due to the fact it being more dangerous then gates from where the monsters come out.

According to the done research of the world's scientists these portals must be used at a lower rate of per week. Meaning if they want to teleport they have to use it once a week.

Using it more than that can cause a dimensional linkage. It's just a theory to them but this theory of theirs is completely right.

Dimensional linkage forms when too many times any transportation portal is used. Unlike Gates who brings monsters that these people are capable of killing now. These portals can bring out beings that can destroy a planet in one go.

Keeping this theory in mind, governments of any control don't allow people to know about it except for those they can trust. If they find any suspicious person then he's killed…

"Are you going to Pakistan through this portal?" Sara inquired.

"Yes"

The spirit inside Clark and Sara rose as they couldn't hide their excitement behind their backs. It was natural when seeing something new that one can't keep calm.

All three stood before the portal, it felt like a cloud like a circular shape rotating like a whirlpool. It was trying to suck them in by the force which was only felt by Sara.

Unlike the other two she wasn't a High ranker but a middle ranker which can be said as B rank hunter.

Looking at the other two as they felt unfazed by the effect.

What's with their look, can't they feel the pressure it's trying to pull us in?

Kevin takes the first step in the portal and the second to be Clark and third Sara.

Here we go… Clark said in his mind before completely getting sucked in by the portal.
